- leland1, on 05/10/2008, -0/+3****D/L the Ultra High-Resolution pictures.**** Don't click on them, otherwise your browser may not be able to re-size the image to fit the window. One is like HUGE... 5428px by 2529px. I mean... geez.
Also, get them while they're available -- other ultra-high resolution WALL-e images, and a 4-minute WALL-e featurette have all been taken down from the /film blogging site at the request of Disney.
"It is highly recommend that you right click on the images and hit “save/download link target” as these images are too huge for most browsers to handle. You might get a message saying the photo is corrupt or incomplete in some browsers if you don’t save the link target directly to your computer."

- LJRod82, on 05/10/2008, -2/+3These are really nice images, but you all can make your own from any high definition Quicktime trailer. I'm sure a lot of people know about this method already, but all you need to do is select an HD trailer of your choice. Depending on what resolution you use, select 720p or 1080p. Normally my basic rule of thumb is to use 720p for 22" monitors or less and 1080p for monitors larger than 22". Once the trailer is finished buffering you go through the video to the frame you like the most. Click the Edit menu and then click Copy. If you have Photoshop you can simply make a new image. Photoshop will automatically set the proper size of the canvas so just hit OK. Click the Edit menu and then click Paste or CTRL+V. Resize the image to the vertical size of your desktop resolution. Save and set it as your wallpaper. If you don't have Photoshop, open Paint. Go to the Image menu and set the attributes to 1280 for width and 720 for height if you used a 720p trailer. Use 1920 for width and 1080 for height if you used a 1080p trailer. Then click the Edit menu then click Paste. Save and set. You don't need Quicktime Pro to do this. The basic Quicktime player has the copy frame option already enabled.
- bawpcwpn, on 05/10/2008, -0/+5Well actually these were originally in a high quality TIF file making each imaeg 10-30MB in size. There is information that has been cropped off the bottom and these come directly from Pixar not a compressed trailer. They were originally released onto Disney's publicity site for members of the press.
- LJRod82, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1Oh nice. I'll need to grab the ice ring image then. Definitely my favorite shot so far. The trailer frames come out pretty good for desktop wallpaper. Sometimes it's a little difficult to find a nice sharp frame since a lot of frames are motion blurred especially in a trailer with a lot of action. I just meant to share that method above in case anybody wanted to grab additional frames from any given trailer.
