- Bagrad, on 07/09/2008, -6/+50I hate it when they do this kind of *****, this is pure american arrogance, REC came out like 2 months ago, can't people watch it with ***** subtitles ? is it that hard ?
- PointOfNoReturn, on 07/09/2008, -1/+40stop making rmks after great foreign movies hollywood!! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1038988/ - it's called [REC] and it's the original
- dreamer98, on 07/09/2008, -1/+38No it's a remake of REC. And it looks like an EXACT remake of it, right down to the skimpy tank top.
The REC trailer is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib5ZSj6ST0U - icequeen057, on 07/09/2008, -4/+36This looks great. And I love Jennifer Carpenter in Dexter!
- hep2djive, on 07/09/2008, -1/+23Tell me when I can open my eyes....
- samrum, on 07/09/2008, -1/+19I like Jennifer Carpenter but she's not even close to being as hot as the girl in [REC].
- casbboy, on 07/09/2008, -3/+16But Ruins wasn't too shabby. The entire horror genre comes off cheesy. Anyone remember Salem's Lot (the original), now that was scary
- coollettuce, on 07/09/2008, -0/+13I love it when the trailer reveals the whole plot. I don't enjoy being surprised when I actually pay to go see the movie.
/sarcasm - showgun, on 07/09/2008, -3/+15"Meh"
- lostprophet23, on 07/09/2008, -0/+12If you're going to watch this, what I assume will be, a crap remake please watch [REC] first.
- Shirokun, on 07/09/2008, -1/+12SPOILERS AHEEEAAAD
The Trailer tells you the Whole movie. Even the ending (which I know because I have seen [REC]).
SPOILERS END. - dreamer98, on 07/09/2008, -1/+12It looks like an EXACT remake of it, right down to the skimpy tank top.
The REC trailer is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib5ZSj6ST0U - TheMightyDane, on 07/09/2008, -3/+14Are you talking about Cloverfield ?
- mediaphile, on 07/09/2008, -2/+13If by "great" you mean hackneyed and lame, you're right, this looks amazing.
To me, it looks generic and cliched. The faux-news-footage thing is so overplayed, and here they don't even bother to make it look real. But throw in a cute lead actor and you're all set to go for an average opening weekend followed by complete flop the next. Hooray for mediocrity! - loopis, on 07/09/2008, -1/+11That's what she said.
- dreamer98, on 07/09/2008, -1/+11The REC trailer is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib5ZSj6ST0U
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -4/+13We may finally have a good horror film this year. This sure beats Ruins!
- mgbuddy, on 07/09/2008, -0/+9I think they ruined the overall atmosphere. Is too "Filmy", too much quality. The "video report" look of REC is everything in the movie, and very well done because it's only the look, the film can be seen without headaches...
Also, the actors overact. Do not seems real... Look the spanish trailer and you will see the difference.
Don't miss it. If it's like REC, is the most terrifying film I've seen in a lot of years, and I'm a fan of horror movies.
And don't compare with Cloverfield or Blair Witch.... It's a completelly different thing.
Also, WTF were they thinking of when they made the trailer.... (REC viewers will now what I'm talking about)
A fun thing is the trailer showed on tv and theatres on Spain...

No movie images, only the reaction of the viewers on the Sitges Festival first show. - misfit410, on 07/09/2008, -0/+9I agree with you, I thought [REC] was fantastic, I understand that maybe they fear with movies like Ju-on or Ringu that Americans might feel detached from it with everyone being asian or something so remaking them while not needed is somewhat forgivable, but I mean, some overdubs or better yet subtitles this movie would have been fine.
The biggest issue I take with this trailer is that it gives away a good 90% of the plot... - mediaphile, on 07/09/2008, -3/+12I can't believe everyone's excited for this. Just another in a long line of generic, formulaic horror films.
- tuxidomasx, on 07/09/2008, -0/+9Wow. thanks for telling me how the movie ends. appreciate it.
- freediverx, on 07/09/2008, -3/+12(Cloverleaf + Blair Witch + 28 Days Later + viral marketing hype)
- Talent - Originality
= Quarantine - tehnico, on 07/09/2008, -0/+8I love the people saying Cloverfield rip off, when aside from the original [•REC], Diary of the dead was made a year before it. Oh and before that there was the Blair Witch Project, oh and then that movie about the dude that goes into the Paris catacombs, oh and before that there was Cannibal Holocaust [1980]. Oh look they're remaking Cannibal Holocaust for 2009. Maybe we can all claim it's a rip off of Quarantine in a year.
- Roger, on 07/09/2008, -0/+8[REC] was great, I doubt this'll be half as good.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7That was a ***** trailer. This is just REC remade for a slightly stupider audience. After watching that trailer, I know that the bearded man dies, the woman's child gets it, the black man dies and the main woman dies at the end. WTF? That's not a trailer, that's a summary of the whole film. Just watch REC and forget about this.
- exYU, on 07/09/2008, -3/+10I thought the original film, "REC" was wayy over hyped, which killed the film for me. I'll give this a watch. Although im not expecting much from it...
- Twisted871, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7None of it is original. This movie is a remake of [REC].
- Battlecry, on 07/09/2008, -2/+8Woo hoo! Blair Witch and zombies! :)
- Goldbricker, on 07/09/2008, -1/+7WOW. Are there any original ideas in Hollywood these days?
- kawaiirobo, on 07/09/2008, -1/+7Movies pull crazy ***** like that all the time, it doesn't necessarily mean it will end that way, though now since you've been so rude, we do know how it ends, so next time you want to discuss the ending of a movie, just shut the ***** up and don't be a dick.
- TheThirdWheel, on 07/09/2008, -2/+8Wait, what incident is this referring to? I love wacky conspiracy theories. Also the Dexter chick is the hotness.
- maino82, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5dude i don't know what you're talking about. plants are totally scary. there's a fern over in the corner that's totally creeping me out.
- cryptomystic, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4bittorent
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4where can i see the original [REC]? I'm assuming I can't just goto Blockbuster and rent it or can I? Is it on the web somewhere? Thanks in advance...
- Infekted, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4WTF? isn't this the same movie as [REC]??
its looks exactly the same. except that this one is in English. - GlitchEnzo, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4Wow you are totally right! The trailer was identical - it even had the ax to the door/frightened reporter part.
- Blandyman, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4By the way everyone, I totally wrote this movie, and I'd like to spoil it, because I am entirely displeased with the final work.
It seems like all's normal while they're shadowing the firemen.
It's like, totally realistic, even though this news crew has $200,000 HD cameras and steadicam rigs.
Oh, and even though in real-life, you don't catch all the amazing things in frame, like Cloverfield emulated perfectly, our news crew catches everything.
Because not only is our steadicam-wielding cameraman filled with super strength, he can also see the future.
They get there and that old lady, even with her arthritis and all, attacks us and gets somebody, before anybody knows what's up. I got this from another movie, lol.
Then it turns out they've quarantined the place!
See, this is the part where you say that we have a plot hole: if they quarantine it, without knowing what just happened, then they must've known beforehand something like this, requiring a quarantine, would happen here.
So why would they have sent the fire crew with the video cameras? TO MAKE A MOVIE, DUHZ!
Yada, yada, insert some apartment searching and random noises and crumbling structures (because, we all know that zombies HATE concrete.)
No one gets to escape.
While searching, they meet Jay Hernandez - you know, that dude from Hostel who totally brings in the female-teen demo - who joins their party (more than 3 so he's a guest roflz Final Fantasy joke.)
They go into a certain apartment, where some ***** about a cult comes up and apparently this dude made some sort of chemical to turn people into zombies or something. I mean, it doesn't make much sense, but we had to make something original that wasn't at all like the T-Virus. Because that was a Umbrella Corp., not a cult called the Brotherhood of Umbrella... ella, ella.
Sorry.
Well, yeah. This guy turns out to be someone in our group of survivors. It was inevitable.
Jay Hernandez most def' becomes a zombi-shiz somewhere near the end.
The cameraman gets attacked and killed, dropping the camera.
Jennifer Carpenter gets attacked five minutes later in a shot perfectly centered.
There's 30 seconds at the end of random sounds and nothing really happening.
Credits roll, I cash my check, you guys get pissed you saw such a horrible movie.
Who cares, ***** you, studios greenlight my high-grossing scripts. - mrdjames, on 07/09/2008, -5/+9Cloverfield + Blair Witch Project + Every Zombie Film ever made = This Movie
- ModernDayDarwin, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4I personally love a good horror film. I may have to go out and see [Rec] if I can get my hands on it.
- toekneebullard, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4Wow...now I really wanna see REC.
- PopASquatt, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Thank you! My thoughts exactly, the chick in front of the camera is more laughable then serious.
- kylere, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3If beating Ruins is the standard, then the standard is rather low
- Acglaphotis, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Dugg for girl crush and Jennifer Carpenter.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Thanks for spoiling it, jackass. I haven't seen [REC] yet.
- disposablepal, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3dont waste your time with the remake, get your hands on a copy of Rec if you can, i'm not saying its the best horror movie ever made, but its short and sweet and has quite a few good scares, not too much thought required, a fantastic friday night movie to watch with friends. I'm just sick of remakes personally, also the spanish girl was much hotter.
- belebih, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3The whole "sexy 20-something Americans stuck in a foreign country" thing is starting to wear thin, but Ruins was actually way above average in that regard. It got a lot more ***** up than I expected, particularly with the self-mutilation.
- Sanctums, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Exactly why the hell even make a remake when they're doing it shot-for-*****-shot.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3REC > than this piece of hollywood rehashed *****.
