- blackmesa, on 09/05/2008, -0/+17I wonder how this will work. Bill Murray was extremely resistant about doing a new film and from what I remember it was a stretch to even get him doing voice work for the video game.
Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis even wrote a script (I think more than one) for a third movie, but they decided not to do it quite some time ago. Partially because of Murray's resistance, but there were probably a few other reasons.
They say the characters are the same, but I wonder if we'll see the original actors.
If they replaced the "original" ghostbusters I don't think it would work. I mean, I love the franchise to death and I grew up on the stuff, but I can't see how they would bring it back to life and not spoil it. - mediaphile, on 09/05/2008, -1/+18Why can't they just do both?

- matrixbandit, on 09/05/2008, -0/+8As I understand it, if Chris Farley hadn't died when he did, he was going to star in the next Ghostbusters, as a role was custom drafted for him. But when he died, the movie didn't work without him so it ended up getting shut down before it ever really started.
