- Megaten, on 12/07/2007, -1/+13Which is an absolute shame. He's a great comedian who can pull off other characters really well (look at Stranger than Fiction for proof - a fantastic film). I'm sure most of his roles are less based on how good the movie will turn out and rather on how many of his friends are making it and how much fun he'll have in the process of shooting it. Which is fine, make some money, have fun - whatever. It's just a shame he seems to be purposely pigeonholing himself into a type-cast, while other actors out there would love to break free of what stereotype characters they're normally billed to play.

The only close to descent piece he did in SNL was his Trebek and even that required only meager deadpan skills and no acting.

I like both types, and they both have a place in my life. I think of Will Ferrel movies like I do a Bowling Alley. No brain required, but I usually have a good time anyway.
