- gamabunta, on 09/27/2008, -32/+383Just to recap, Paul Newman was a WWII vet, married to the same woman for 50 years, and donated all proceeds from Newman's Own to charity...
....and yet Paris Hilton still lives.
WTF? - cityrat59, on 09/27/2008, -1/+216Sad! He was such an excellent actor!
- inactive, on 09/27/2008, -5/+197She's a skank, but don't wish death upon people, it's childish and immature. He lived a long and fulfilling life, we can only hope that Paris Hilton will see the light and do something meaningful with her remaining years.
- Fiyerstorm, on 09/27/2008, -0/+167I'm going to pour some dressing for my homie. :(
RIP Mr. Newman :( - huggybarrel, on 09/27/2008, -1/+128RIP
- jvincent08, on 09/27/2008, -2/+124It might have something to do with the fact that Paris hasn't even hit 30.
- bharadwajharish, on 09/27/2008, -6/+116F*** you 2008 , taking away precious lives ....

RIP, thanks for the years of amazing and enjoyable work. - LoganVH, on 09/27/2008, -0/+86I suggest everyone take a look at what Paul Newman did with his Newman's Own food company. Newman was truly a hero.
RIP. - lm34251, on 09/27/2008, -1/+86He will be missed. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is one of my favorite movies. We lost an excellent actor and a genuinely good person today.
- davidwasman, on 09/27/2008, -0/+84“You can't be as old as I am without waking up with a surprised look on your face every morning: 'Holy Christ, whaddya know - I'm still around!' It's absolutely amazing that I survived all the booze and smoking and the cars and the career.” - Paul Newman
and
“I picture my epitaph: "Here lies Paul Newman, who died a failure because his eyes turned brown".” - Paul Newman

- Half-Fast, on 09/27/2008, -0/+44He was smiling... That's right. You know, that, that Luke smile of his. He had it on his face right to the very end. Hell, if they didn't know it 'fore, they could tell right then that they weren't a-gonna beat him. That old Luke smile. Oh, Luke. He was some boy. Cool Hand Luke. Hell, he's a natural-born world-shaker.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQXFF_dEcdk - thezanman, on 09/27/2008, -0/+36Not only was he a fantastic actor, he gave us Newman's Own. Activism at its tastiest.
RIP. - powerclicks, on 09/27/2008, -0/+36An amazing actor, Oscar, Tony, Emmy, Grammy winner, an accomplished race car driver, a model family man, creative entrepreneur and a major philanthropist. Thank you Mr Newman for giving such a great example on how to live a life. He put his name on a business, invested his time and efforts and made it a successful cash generator for charities without holding onto the profit. It takes a great heart to do that, anyone can write a check but thats just great. R I P
- KaiUno, on 09/27/2008, -4/+33I'm pretty sure her body is just as worn out on the inside as his was.

- cdhill, on 09/27/2008, -0/+23Man, he was a good man. Great actor, philanthropist, and businessman. Don't make many men like him anymore. 83's a good life, and he made the most of his time here. I wish him the best in the greatest adventure to come.

- 4321234, on 09/27/2008, -0/+21This one made me sadder than all the other old timers kicking the bucket since George Harrison. He made Cool Hand Luke, Slapshot, a load of money for charity, and Richard Nixon's enemies list. What more do you have to say?
- diggproof, on 09/27/2008, -0/+20By being nominated for 10 Academy Awards and winning best actor for the Color Of Money. That's how.
- jsaya, on 09/27/2008, -0/+20Only the first Stop it was good. WTH were they thinking after that?

- KibblesnBitts, on 09/27/2008, -0/+16Paul Newman is one of few people who can be universally recognized as ***** awesome
- alex7575, on 09/27/2008, -0/+15More than a great actor, he was an even bigger human being. What a real man should look like.
RIP as you left a great legacy under your name, and it's up to us to remember and cherish it. - inactive, on 09/27/2008, -0/+15Man you're stupid.

You're too young to be using big words like "over-ratted" and "lagend". You should come back after your balls have dropped... - ReidFleming, on 09/27/2008, -3/+16therightclique, I am floored by your deft use of logic and reason in rebutting what I wrote. No, wait... I'm not as you didn't actually argue against me. I "know nothing about life" based on my opinion of her being less of an idiot lately??? I still have hope that she'll worthwhile to humanity as she grows older. I don't LIKE her... I just have hope. I'm sorry that's offensive to you.
- diversionmary, on 09/27/2008, -0/+13I think the trick is to rise above the average, not outlive the peaks until your valley looks good.
- ReidFleming, on 09/27/2008, -2/+14I can't believe I'm even attempting to defend her but... here goes. Her prison stint seems to have radically altered her persona. Every new appearance I see of her obviously using her brain makes me smile a bit more for humanity. Maybe there is hope.
And, goodbye, Paul. You will be missed for many reasons. - metapop, on 09/27/2008, -0/+12RIP vs. Leatherface: the reckoning

- inactive, on 09/27/2008, -2/+13I agree, bharadwajharish. We've lost several greats this year.
My dad passed this year too. He looked remarkably like Paul Newman, strangely. - buughost, on 09/27/2008, -0/+11Probably one of the greatest losses to the acting community this year.
RIP Paul Newman, you were a fantastic actor, and human being. - alex7575, on 09/27/2008, -0/+11Paul Newman, was decent and talented enough man, that people actually DO give a ***** that he died.
Something that everyone, and specially you (considering your comment) should look up to. - nicheplayer, on 09/27/2008, -0/+11Where's the lemonade going...?
