- johnnycase, on 10/24/2008, -0/+3Hi folks. Mark Lipsky here from Gigantic Digital. Thanks for the Diggs! In answer to deals with filmmakers, we couldn't lay it all out in a press release as each deal is likely to be structured slightly differently. For instance, is it a traditional acquisition for all rights (theatrical, tv, dvd, digital, etc) or *only* digital? Is it US only or all English speaking or the world? In the case of a filmmaker whose film we love and where everyone agrees that an exclusive digital deal is where we want to be, then we'll share revenue 50/50 after any agreed-upon expenses. And since revenue from Gigantic Digital is instantly accounted for and easily accessible, the fillmaker/producer can see exactly what's happening in real time and neither they nor us have to negotiate terms with theaters and then wait weeks or months to be paid. Quarterly reports will be a 20th century concept. If you want to be paid daily, that's fine with us. Anyhow, thanks for the comments. Keep them coming. And please let me know what you think of the site: mgl at giganticreleasing dot com. Btw, we love Will Smith too!
- supagroova, on 10/23/2008, -0/+2Love this concept. Hollywood really need to get their head in gear!
And having a whole feature film online for free in HD is very nice. - positron, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2that's a man, man.
- forteller, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2"Thanks for your support of Gigantic Digital! Unfortunately, due to international rights issues, we cannot stream films outside of the continental United States at this time."
Bah! - Knowltey, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1He's still hot either way, girl or guy.
- harlequinade, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1If it gives Indie prods exposure without their being beholden to the corporates, I'm a fan! Bookmarked, Stumbled and Dugg to the core.

- TMills, on 10/24/2008, -0/+0Gigantic what????!??!
- badgrenola, on 10/24/2008, -0/+0"We are not simply ad salesmen aggregating content. We're an actual film distribution company doing what distributors have always done. We seek out and acquire movies for which we believe there is an audience, and we work tirelessly to market and promote those films."
Dugg tentatively for supporting independent film, but not making clear anywhere on their website the details of the deals they sign with the film-makers. I would be interested to know what the marketing consists of other than putting it on their site (admittedly awesome) and people paying to watch their film. Who's making the cash if it leads anywhere? /cynicism
Let's see where this one goes... - avex7, on 10/23/2008, -3/+3There is a free film here >> http://www.giganticdigital.com/movies/free_stuff
The movies look like good quality. - ssj2119, on 10/24/2008, -1/+1Thumbnail = Girl from Portal?

We’ll be happy to return your DVD if you provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope. - badgrenola, on 10/24/2008, -0/+0Thanks for answering, Mark. Sounds like a great deal for the guys you support. Fingers crossed it grows into something huge. (And who doesn't love Will Smith...)
- johnnycase, on 10/24/2008, -0/+0Mark Lipsky again. Forgot to answer the question about marketing. We're an independent film distribution company. The only way we survive is to do everything we can, work every angle and market the sh*t out of every release. Gigantic Digital represents an entirely new paradigm in indie film releasing and that includes marketing. We're taking advantage of the incredible communication power of the web and using it explain, cajole, plead our case and beg if necessary to get all the right people on board.
- filmjerk716, on 10/24/2008, -0/+0Duh. What an Indie film break through. Whats the release schedule going to be? Every tuesday like DVD's or everyfriday like the theaters?
- JackWhack, on 10/24/2008, -0/+0I'm going to ask for a larger monitor for this! {Don't tell my boss why}
Seriously, can I start watching the movie at work and finish at home or somewhere else?
Cheers! - johnnycase, on 10/24/2008, -0/+0You get 3 days of unlimited viewing of the film for $2.99 so watch it at work then at home then at work again :)
Mark. - johnnycase, on 10/24/2008, -0/+0Send me an email and i'll send you a guest pass to any film you want to see no matter where you live. Mark Lipsky, President Gigantic Releasing. mgl at giganticreleasing dot com
