- y2kboy23, on 07/12/2008, -5/+141Saw this trailer in the movie trailers and it does seem interesting but I'm curious as to how they can pull it off.
- satanatnmtedu, on 07/14/2008, -8/+2Hardly original. Ever seen Mork and Mindy? And, I am pretty sure it wasn't original then either.
- jtizzi, on 07/14/2008, -1/+3Anyone ever read F Scott Fitzgerald?
Read a book read a book read a motherfuc*king book. - TedTschopp, on 07/14/2008, -1/+3You guys do realize that the movie is based on a book by F Scott Fitzgerald?
And jtizzi is right and shouldn't be modded down, many old classic books are classics for good reason, they are well, good and worth reading several times. - ericcc, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1Yeah, maybe Jtizzi is right but does he/she have to be such a bitch about it?
- jtizzi, on 07/14/2008, -1/+3Anyone ever read F Scott Fitzgerald?
- xptoast, on 07/14/2008, -20/+3This is a hijacking but I assume most would be interested in this article about yourselves...diggers. The digger poll.
http://digg.com/people/The_Diggers_Life_Poll - Gorgamel, on 07/14/2008, -5/+0Anyone else have greasemonkey with VideoEmbed? I see a guy with his daughter who is really cold (realfeel of 5 degrees).
- arkboysooner, on 07/14/2008, -0/+8He gets swallowed up by his mother's womb in the end. Whoops, sorry I spoiled it for you.
- jmahnn, on 07/14/2008, -9/+1I can't be the only person here who realizes this movie's entire premise is based on a George Carlin bit...
And yes, based on. I'll give credit to that man over anything. If you told me he invented time zones to make the trains run, I'd go with it.- illegalcortex, on 07/14/2008, -0/+8Carlin was good, but not so good to be able to inspire a story written in 1922.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Curious_Case_of_B ... - jbassfretless, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2haha sorry jmahnn, fail.
- jmahnn, on 07/14/2008, -3/+1Awwww ***** it, I'm still saying he thought it up
- illegalcortex, on 07/14/2008, -0/+8Carlin was good, but not so good to be able to inspire a story written in 1922.
- Final, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2Is it a spin on the immortality thing? Instead of being the same age forever he just ages to near death, then returns to the wonder years?
- SmpleJohn, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0No, he starts out at near death on the outside, baby on the inside. Then gets younger as his body gets older. I'd imagine he still dies at the end. Just, really young looking.
- satanatnmtedu, on 07/14/2008, -8/+2Hardly original. Ever seen Mork and Mindy? And, I am pretty sure it wasn't original then either.
- liliac, on 07/12/2008, -6/+162It's new David Fincher's movie about a man who is aging backwards (Brad Pitt).
I can't wait to see it. :)- ricker2005, on 07/14/2008, -1/+29It's also based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Yes, that F. Scott Fitzgerald.
- JBrown99, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2I've always wanted to see Brad Pitt play Gatsby. They should make a new movie. Edward Norton could definitely play Nick.
- DeathJux, on 07/14/2008, -2/+11David Fincher is such a good director. This is going to be delightful.
- Sil369, on 07/14/2008, -0/+13indubitably!
- RunJun, on 07/14/2008, -1/+16I'm really interested in how Fincher shows Brad's advanced brain in a child's body.
- MidnightRIder77, on 07/14/2008, -2/+10David Fincher + F. Scott Fitzgerald + Brad Pitt
This will be amazing - ligyron, on 07/14/2008, -9/+3It took me a while to figure out what was being said at the end. It sounded like, "Oh-silly-ah -- Omli-omli-osa"
I wasn't sure if it was somebody's names or another language. After listening to it a couple times, I now realize it's, "You're so young -- Only on the outside." teh he he
Anyway, this is a movie I'll definitely be looking out for come December- zforrester, on 07/14/2008, -0/+9thats ok, i'm handicapped too
- Myonosken, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2Yeah I usually have problems with strong american accents, but that was pretty clear to understand. Did the nurse who warned your parents not to leave you alone in the bathtub also speak in an indecipherable accent? Would explain a lot.
- Tenetri, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2Congrats, u insulted someone on the internet
- anagoge, on 07/14/2008, -2/+1David Fincher
- fesh27, on 07/14/2008, -1/+0I recommend the movie Youth without youth by Francis Ford Coppola. The story is something like this movie
- solid12345, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Weird ass movie, never could get into it. I was duped by the trailer into thinking it was some suspenseful sci-fi film with Nazis and instead it is some guy travelling around the world and watching his woman writhe around on the floor yelling in weird languages.
- fesh27, on 07/14/2008, -0/+0whahaha! I agree with you...
- vulpescry, on 07/14/2008, -2/+3Fight Club was epic.
Better than the book in some ways.
I'm so stoked about this movie. - tas08, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6As a heterosexual man, I love Brad Pitt. That, and how fascinating this movie looks has got me stoked.
- Blandyman, on 07/14/2008, -0/+7As a heterosexual man, I'd make love to Brad Pitt.
- Mercedes383, on 07/14/2008, -0/+7As a homosexual woman, I'd make love to Brad Pitt.
- Myonosken, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2@mercedes: Pics.
- mojofrojo, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4As a Bi-sexual man, I'd watch Brad Pitt make love to all of you.
- yahoofrom, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2As a man thinking marriage is *****, I'd marry Cate Blanchett.
- TheMime, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2That reminds me of the George Carlin quote.
- ricker2005, on 07/14/2008, -1/+29It's also based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Yes, that F. Scott Fitzgerald.
- zippe, on 07/12/2008, -3/+569i wouldnt call that "disturbing."
- cl2yp71c, on 07/14/2008, -0/+61But I would call it "interesting", to say the least.
- freebird09, on 07/14/2008, -0/+47Ya, I think that Beverly Hills Chihuahua trailer I saw before WALL-E tops this one off.
- Asheis, on 07/14/2008, -0/+19I would absolutely agree with this.
Holy god, I think my eyeballs started burning. - BTConan, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2I died a little inside watching that trailer.
- Asheis, on 07/14/2008, -0/+19I would absolutely agree with this.
- ligyron, on 07/14/2008, -11/+3I'd call it epic
- Maxmaxxwell, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1i wouldn't
- digg-dugg, on 07/14/2008, -2/+35yeah, I was hoping for something more along the lines of this..

- xxBondsxx, on 07/14/2008, -0/+16holy *****
- Zalyster, on 07/14/2008, -0/+13I don't think it can ever be said too many times:
holy ***** - Pusod, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4What was that thing in the last scene floating in the jar? Looked like a pierced ***** to me.
- Sprules04, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4That movie is so ***** up. I think I maybe only saw half of it because the other half of the time I had to cover my eyes.
- MenoUnderwater, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4THANK YOU Digg commentors. I got to "I remember I had a dog once..." before closing it and thinking: "Maybe I should read the comments FIRST"...
- Infidelephant, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4You've seen it!...
You can't UNSEE it!!! - ktxxx, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1holy *****
- g00dbye, on 07/14/2008, -2/+72Now THIS is disturbing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzOpjBOzMqA- Culero, on 07/14/2008, -0/+26mother of god, why!?
- Shinobi326, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6Mother of god, you're right!
- RaulMuadDib, on 07/14/2008, -2/+6Is that Andy Dick? He killed Phil Hartman.
- raeshao, on 07/14/2008, -1/+14Where's the pickle?!
- sargentcrackers, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2I have a feeling that's going to give me nightmares.
- illegalcortex, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6Great, now I have to stay up for four more hours...
- UNDERSTAR, on 07/14/2008, -0/+8Is it wrong for me to have my pants down watching this video??? Because if it is, I never want to be right.
- 4rch, on 07/14/2008, -1/+1Ichi The Killer? Awesome. Though, I was hoping for "dentist" scene in Oldboy somehow re-cut into a trailer.
- Naieve, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4The title of this submission makes me wonder if meeces is in the employ of the MPAA or the makers of this film.
- Tayls, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2Maybe the shot of a tiny old man wrapped in a blanket towards the beginning? Meh, looks cool either way.
- FattyCorpuscle, on 07/14/2008, -1/+4Neither would I. This on the other hand...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISBeBuVKXL0
Or maybe...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nhizo7KrZrw- Asheis, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4that first link frightened me.. beyond.. normal... ugh...
err...
wow. uhh.... - lordterrin, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1i think he meant to say "lame" and accidentally put "disturbing"
- Asheis, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4that first link frightened me.. beyond.. normal... ugh...
- menuask, on 07/12/2008, -6/+970The most overdramatic digg title you'll see this week
- pollypot, on 07/14/2008, -1/+12Since I never watch movie trailers, it's ridiculously overdramatic.
- fanclerks, on 07/14/2008, -3/+5Oh I dunno about that... it is only Sunday after all. There's the rest of the week for someone to come up something crazier. Come on diggers, I know you can do it!
- cdigioia, on 07/14/2008, -3/+1Since it's "this week" - I think it's pretty under dramatic.
Especially since not many trailers are "disturbing". - FelixA9, on 07/14/2008, -2/+0Can't hold a candle to most of the Bush/Republican whines for over dramatic.
- GrooveStix, on 07/14/2008, -1/+22I am glad that George Carlin's idea has been finally made into a movie.
"The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death! What’s that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you’re too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you’re young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating …and you finish off as an orgasm."- akshayxyz, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1I would like to imagine 'final' two years of that life - just sucking b00bs. esp when 'you know' what it is that you are sucking on!
- akshayxyz, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1I would like to imagine 'final' two years of that life - just sucking b00bs. esp when 'you know' what it is that you are sucking on!
- GrooveStix, on 07/14/2008, -0/+12Crap, this is actually an Andy Rooney quote.
- CarStan, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4buried for not beeing the beverly hills chihauha, THATS disturbing, in a bad way
- millonzi, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2There was a time when reading wasn't just for fags. And neither was writing. People wrote books and movies. Movies with stories, that made you care about whose ass it was and why it was farting. And I believe that time can come again!
- vodakov, on 07/12/2008, -7/+405Does that mean he will die a sperm?
- rjhomuth, on 07/14/2008, -3/+214No, a member of the ebaumsworld forums.
- wrathofg0d, on 07/14/2008, -3/+50nice
- topherbook, on 07/14/2008, -3/+36ZING!
- Archon810, on 07/14/2008, -3/+2so he'll die a bottomless vagina then?
- nycmac247, on 07/14/2008, -1/+12yes, and it will be like the end of "the fly" --- "help me...help me..." from this little sperm on... a leaf?
- cl2yp71c, on 07/14/2008, -0/+24SHHHH
Don't spoil it for us. - JoeViturbo, on 07/14/2008, -4/+74No, he couldn't die a sperm being as to how sperm only contains half of the essential DNA to make a person. The least amount of development he could ever die as would be a fertilized egg.
- Blandyman, on 07/14/2008, -0/+9zygote.
- bunit03057, on 07/14/2008, -4/+45He would die as an orgasm. At least according to George Carlin.
- digglet08, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6I clapped out loud
- mrASSMAN, on 07/14/2008, -1/+7Carlin is precisely what I was thinking about while watching this trailer..
- Buzzpatrol, on 07/14/2008, -3/+18134 minutes into the movie his wife wakes up screaming from her husband, turned into a facial hitting her face..
The End!
[Original script] - wnyzfinest, on 07/14/2008, -3/+0well i guess i got my hands on the last frame of the movie,, in relation to this post
http://www-thphys.physics.ox.ac.uk/user/ChrisPoole ...
- rjhomuth, on 07/14/2008, -3/+214No, a member of the ebaumsworld forums.
- berrray, on 07/12/2008, -3/+275Disturbing? It actually looks like it might be a pretty good movie.
- SumguyTwentyOne, on 07/13/2008, -26/+82I love trailers which tell me the exact plot of the movie. Now I don't have to waste 10bux.
- Phoros, on 07/13/2008, -2/+62Life is a journey- not a destination.
- chaos7, on 07/14/2008, -2/+26death is the destination
- Sornos, on 07/14/2008, -8/+2The stars my destination.
- dopke, on 07/14/2008, -2/+23Your mom's my destination.
- djblac, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1...destinate your mom...
- mikec00l, on 07/14/2008, -6/+9It showed the whole movie already no point in watching it.
- shoewich, on 07/14/2008, -1/+18hm? The trailer describes the film's premise (a guy ages backwards) but doesn't reveal anything about the plot...
- bakatrinh, on 07/14/2008, -1/+1Kind of like the Polar Express trailer and a few others I can't think of on top of my head.
- greenvortex, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2For the most egregious example of this ever, check out the trailer for "The Longshots". It ran before Meet Dave this weekend.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-KkidiqaeM - s0nicfreak, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2Yeah and I heard that for quite some time you could already read the whole plot in a book!
- Phoros, on 07/13/2008, -2/+62Life is a journey- not a destination.
- BlackSheep720, on 07/13/2008, -12/+136The creepiest part is the music.
- LucasVB, on 07/14/2008, -0/+20I like it. Is it from somewhere else or is it original for the trailer?
- mescad, on 07/14/2008, -0/+33It is called "Aquarium" and is part 7(of 14) of Le Carnaval des Animaux (The Carnival of the Animals) by Camille Saint-Saëns.
- upsidedork, on 07/14/2008, -0/+23It's the "Aquarium" movement from Camille Saint-Saëns' "The Carnival of the Animals," which was written a little over a hundred years ago and has 12 other movements dedicated to various animals. This bit is the only one of his compositions that's achieved any real fame -- mostly because of its frequent use in Tim-Burtonish movie trailers.
- LucasVB, on 07/14/2008, -0/+10Awesome! Thank you, both!
All I've ever known of Saint-Saens was Danse Macabre. - LuxFX, on 07/14/2008, -0/+3I've always thought that the music behind the opening narration (the stained glass sequence) from Disney's Beauty & The Beast was pretty much ripped from the Saint-Saens movement. If it sounded a little familiar, that might have been why.
- texpundit, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1And here's a recording of the entire Carnival in .ogg format. (from the Wikipedia page)
http://music.ibiblio.org/pub/multimedia/pandora/vo ...
- JoeViturbo, on 07/14/2008, -0/+14Camille Saint-Saens: Carnival of Animals: VII. Aquarium
- ObeseSnake, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Ah cool, I love Danse Macabre too and didn't know he was the same composer.
- ej1oo1, on 07/14/2008, -9/+4No the creepiest part is that a internet trailer was in HD.
- jcsoc, on 07/14/2008, -6/+2no your ***** was the creepiest part
- km00, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Although, it's kind of interesting how there's barely any dialogue...
- LucasVB, on 07/14/2008, -0/+20I like it. Is it from somewhere else or is it original for the trailer?
- MalDON, on 07/14/2008, -20/+4this is 20 days old...
- AlxRymnd914, on 07/14/2008, -0/+26....but it's aging backwards.
- digglet08, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2why are all of you people... clever?
- AlxRymnd914, on 07/14/2008, -0/+26....but it's aging backwards.
- mrzack, on 07/14/2008, -15/+3Something was an INSIDE JOB???
- adml_shake, on 07/14/2008, -1/+115Why is this disturbing? I though it looked pretty interesting, nice to see something more original then the remakes and sequels we usually get (if this a remake or something feel free to point it out).
- RevChris, on 07/14/2008, -2/+9not a remake , but Merlin (character) comes to mind
- salbi17, on 07/14/2008, -0/+29It's based on short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Leave it to Hollywood to come up with anything original.
- fuzzmeister, on 07/14/2008, -0/+8Hey, if it's F. Scott Fitzgerald, I'm not complaining.
- BrookeGill9, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1leave it to Charlie Kauffman
- crystalair, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Try "The Picture Of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde
- JoeCool1986, on 07/14/2008, -0/+19however, if I'm not mistaken, Merlin not only aged backwards, but time actually went backwards for him as well. As in, all the people he knew could not tell he was aging backwards, and he knew the future. Is that right?
- LucasVB, on 07/14/2008, -0/+15What story are you guys talking about? Sounds interesting.
- idleidol, on 07/14/2008, -1/+12Brad Pitts character is born as an old man, and as time goes on he gets younger looking.
Merlin was actually "born" sometime in the future, and aged chronologically backwards. so yes, merlin knew the future because it was his past.
Your head may explode now. - Zalyster, on 07/14/2008, -0/+9*head asplodes*
- illegalcortex, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4FYI, that's T. H. White's Merlyn, which postdates the writing of the Fitzgerald story.
- brodimus, on 07/14/2008, -4/+0was also a TV mini-series by Stephen King called 'Golden Years'
- PunkRampant, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2Would it being a remake cause it to seem not as good? I saw the trailer for the new Day The Earth Stood Still and thought it looked awesome, but a lot of people are pissed because it somehow offends their memory of the original. Can we judge films based on their own merits instead of what they were derived from?
- double051, on 07/14/2008, -15/+6Matt Damon?
- depro9, on 07/14/2008, -8/+2Youth without youth was better.
- paperthin0, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2you mean that really *****, bloated, over 2 hr film that was coppola's "comeback" was better than an interesting 2 min trailer?
- depro9, on 07/14/2008, -1/+1yes
- q1006662, on 07/14/2008, -2/+2Was better than a movie that isn't out yet?
- depro9, on 07/14/2008, -2/+1yes
- paperthin0, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2you mean that really *****, bloated, over 2 hr film that was coppola's "comeback" was better than an interesting 2 min trailer?
- mrgeekguy, on 07/14/2008, -8/+20Is this a remake of Mork and Mindy?
- tedrock, on 07/14/2008, -7/+105Oh so disturbing. *shivers*
Buried for misleading title.- greatname, on 07/14/2008, -7/+0i see what you did there.
- btschul, on 07/14/2008, -1/+20That wasn't disturbing. Not as disturbing as "Midnight Meat Train" (but that is only disturbing because the title sounds like the name of a gay bar. Oh, yeah, and because it's Vinnie Jones with a huge effin knife.)
http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi2259812633/- freebird09, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6Dugg for Vinnie Jones, I like him as an actor.
- Myonosken, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6Dugg for Vinnie Jones, I like him as a psycho
- jake1986, on 07/14/2008, -11/+4Whatever ho, I saw this last week and I used it to kill a baby seal!
Whatever, I can do what I want.- eggballs, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Now, that's disturbing.
- Zalyster, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Dugg for South Park reference. Even if it's not the exact quote, and it may not have been intentional.
- sydsampat, on 07/14/2008, -1/+18Wouldnt say "creepiest"
Definitely looking forward to see how the movie actually turns out.
I like the minimal use of dialogue in the trailer :p- radioshaq, on 07/14/2008, -1/+4Who are you quoting? No one claimed it was going to be creepy.
- sydsampat, on 07/17/2008, -0/+0Oops.
detoured from the word "disturbing" i suppose
0_o
- sydsampat, on 07/17/2008, -0/+0Oops.
- radioshaq, on 07/14/2008, -1/+4Who are you quoting? No one claimed it was going to be creepy.
- markwilcox, on 07/14/2008, -3/+9This reminds me of this short film from 48 Hours 2008: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CoivqfyvFE
- sayoshinn, on 07/14/2008, -1/+95The only thing disturbing about that trailer was the quick shot of the ugly ass baby.
- DivisibleByZero, on 07/14/2008, -1/+14Is it sad that the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this was an episode of Star Trek: Voyager?
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2Which one?
- rocke86, on 07/14/2008, -2/+9Season 3, Episode 21
Before and After (1997)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708855/
I just watched it a few days ago, Kess started out being old with no memory and was skipping back in time to important parts of her life in the future and past.
This movie appears to be similar but he is living as the time goes backward. - kandahmews, on 07/14/2008, -0/+3you are the ***** :)
- silent7seven, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4Comment dugg for the boner I got being reminded of Jeri Ryan.
- pjbrown88, on 07/14/2008, -0/+12I hate sounding like such a nerd, but...
I actually think he was referring to Season 2, Episode 22, "Innocence."

Tuvok lands on a planet and finds children who know that they are going to die soon. They say that a monster comes and takes them in the night. He and Janeway try to stop it, but once they get close to it, a bunch of people who look like elders intervene. They inform Janeway and Tuvok that their species ages in reverse, and that these "children" are actually 100+ years old. The "monster" that comes to take them is actually just their biological instinct forcing them to find a quiet place to die.
Again, sorry for being a total Trekie :P- aneconcept, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Thank you for saving me 45 minutes of my life showing the above guy the error of his misinformed star trek ways...
- DivisibleByZero, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1You got it. I had forgotten all about the Kess one.
- rocke86, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Thanks, you get bonus points for writing summary twice as long as mine. ;)
Logical Conclusion:
The aliens in this episode would be more accurate to the movie but I chose the one with Kess because the whole episode is focused Kess getting younger. Innocence's plot twist is not revealed till the end episode, making my choice logical since since the trailer also skips to parts of his life.
I believe that puts me 1 trekie point ahead of you

- satanatnmtedu, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1I thought of Mork and Mindy. But, I imagine I am a bit older than you are.

- Taedirk, on 07/14/2008, -5/+8Old. Also, google the short story it's based on and you'll get something better than the movie they'll make. Guaranteed.

- tidu, on 07/14/2008, -0/+5recommended!
but after a read you'll notice that the movie is loosely based off the story, especially considering the 100 year setting difference.
- tidu, on 07/14/2008, -0/+5recommended!
- bdfariello, on 07/14/2008, -0/+8Well sure, it's Old now, but give it some time and then it'll be young. It's a curious case.
- Myonosken, on 07/14/2008, -1/+1I dunno. The fact the trailer doesn't start off slow and then show the scenes from the civil war with lots of explosions to the soundtrack of a Muse song, shows its got a hell of a lot more going for it than most modern movies.

- bowlesman11, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2I've been waiting to see this movie for sooo long ever since I read about its premise. I find it quite refreshing and have no doubts Fincher can pull this off.
- yomomo, on 07/14/2008, -1/+1ever watch mork and mindy?
- GerudoX, on 07/14/2008, -3/+33That was REALLY widescreen....like what, 25:1 screen ratio?
Looks interesting though, kinda the same vein as Big Fish.- amddude, on 07/14/2008, -1/+14weird trailer but i think the screen ratio is 2.35:1
and the quality is amazing on vimeo- alexpigment, on 07/14/2008, -0/+11thanks to flash finally stepping up their game with flash 9 and incorporating h.264 instead of flv (h.263)
- alexpigment, on 07/14/2008, -1/+5well i assume the 25:1 is a joke :) . actually, theatrical releases have always been extra wide. ben hur comes to mind. anyway, not uncommon to be that wide; uncommon to see a preview that wide, yes.
- Kanidia, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6It's the original aspect ratio of the movie (2.35:1) like what you would see in theatres.
Most DVDs are released at this aspect ratio. - timothycrash01, on 07/14/2008, -0/+5Measured it - approximately 2.35:1 give or take some pixels.
Pretty normal. Most films are either 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 depending on the choice of the director / cinematographer.
HD TV's are 1.78:1 if anyone cares. - grizzlybrice, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Steven Seagal widescreen.

- jlab, on 07/14/2008, -1/+6Do people often see more then one disturbing movie trailer in a given week?
- fuzzybeard, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Not anymore. Disturbing ads, however, are a whole 'nuther story. If I pay $8.50 to go see a movie, then spend more than that for stale popcorn and flat soda; I sure as HELL don't want to watch 10 minutes of ads played at 3-feet-away-from-speakers-at-a-rock-concert volume!
/get off of my lawn, dangnabit!

- Harabeck, on 07/14/2008, -0/+39When I say "disturbing" I though it would be that damn chihuahua trailer. That sent shiver down my spine. To think that would even be thought up speaks volumes about us...
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 07/14/2008, -0/+11I died a little inside when I saw that. It almost made me regret going to see Wall-E. Then I saw Presto and I was in heaven.
- thh204, on 07/14/2008, -1/+3I don't know why but I hysterically laughed all the way through that trailer. It wasn't funny but I couldn't stop laughing.
- charlietuna, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4I thought I'd be rickrolled.
- brett1337, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1yes i feel so vindicated i thought i was the only one who knew about that chihuahuas trailer. The world needs to know about this someone submit an epic rant to digg or something plzz
- LucasVB, on 07/14/2008, -0/+23If by disturbing you mean "hey, that actually looks like it could be a pretty cool film", then yes.
- zephyrnug, on 07/14/2008, -1/+14if that was disturbing, then i'm gonna ***** my pants at "Space Chimps"
- allisonleigh, on 07/14/2008, -2/+4theres nothing quite like middle aged women making out with toddlers.

- 6shot, on 07/14/2008, -2/+1Looks like a good movie, cant wait.
- kamog, on 07/14/2008, -0/+15The short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, of which this film is based, is a great read. I'm really looking forward to the film adaptation and seeing what's done with the story. Judging from the preview, it looks like it's going to be a great flick.
- Bologner, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1David Fincher doesn't really do bad movies, so it's in good hands.
- d0ugfunny, on 07/14/2008, -2/+3Looks good, it's gonna be sad.
- chaos7, on 07/14/2008, -1/+4how is this even slightly disturbing
- alexpigment, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4not disturbing in the least. looks like a cool movie. David fincher + brad pitt + obscure plot = probably will be a good movie
- BiggRanger, on 07/14/2008, -8/+1Sound like a Mork & Mindy rip off. Later in the Mork & Mindy series Mork laid an egg and an old guy hatched, premes being they get younger!
From wikipedia:
Jonathan Winters, one of Williams' idols, was brought in as their child, Mearth. Due to the different Orkan physiology, Mork laid an egg, which grew and hatched into the much older Winters. It had been previously explained that Orkans aged "backwards", thus explaining Mearth's appearance and that of his teacher- JoeViturbo, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4Yeah, this is actually a short story written in 1922 by F. Scott Fitzgerald... a little before Mork and Mindy
- TheFlamingHips, on 07/14/2008, -0/+12hehe disturbing.. AGGGHHHHH, OHHHH NOOOO i'm sooooo disturbed now I've seen Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett making out.... This film looks awesome! If you think it's disturbing, don't go and see Gummo. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119237/ now THAT'S a disturbing film!
- footfwd, on 07/14/2008, -2/+1Gummo sucked.
- shadowmoose, on 07/14/2008, -0/+3Why on Earth did you have to tell me about that movie? Now I have to go watch it.
- syruplord, on 07/14/2008, -1/+1Don't, I thought the same thing the movie is *****.
But that probly makes you want to watch it even more.
You'll see :P
- syruplord, on 07/14/2008, -1/+1Don't, I thought the same thing the movie is *****.
- Chainheart, on 07/14/2008, -2/+1Fincher's magnum opus, how couldn't it be? Maybe it's just the music chosen for the trailer.. makes everything seem great about it
- happystatic, on 07/14/2008, -6/+8from south park:
kid dying of cancer: "what do you think it's like after you die?"
Stan: "i don't know, probably alot like before you were born..." - aerovolce, on 07/14/2008, -3/+2Reminds me of "The Confessions of Max Tivoli"...
- Kristijan12, on 07/14/2008, -2/+1Great concept will they pull it off?
Movie is directed by the guy who gave us titles like: Se7en, Fight Club, The Game, Zodiac...
So my bet is this is promising. - xsanctom, on 07/14/2008, -1/+3The trailers been out for a while, I wouldn't call it disturbing at all, intriguing is more the word, very intriguing.
- BabyHulk, on 07/14/2008, -5/+6old trailer now. come on seriously digg is for new news.
- TecK415, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6Looks like every one who commented agrees that this is no where near "disturbing." More like fascinating. Although I did see this weeks ago... Can't wait, Fincher's films are always pretty damn interesting and entertaining.
- wilsondus, on 07/14/2008, -1/+9So did he come out of between his momma's legs as a wrinkled up old man on his death bed? Sucks for her...
- SatansSpatula, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4Wrinkled up baby. He's obviously growing physically larger, yet younger, over time.

- phoenixm4, on 07/14/2008, -2/+8How is that disturbing?
- ej1oo1, on 07/14/2008, -5/+2Its in HD
- svendm, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1I found Brad Pitt's attempt at an accent quite disturbing.
It brought back horrific memories of "Seven Years in Tibet".
(For chrissakes directors: PITT CAN'T DO ACCENTS - DON'T MAKE HIM.)
- scot333, on 07/14/2008, -1/+3looks terrific!
- ch1x0r3r, on 07/14/2008, -7/+2It's not another poor adaptation of something, is it?
- MikeFallopian, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2It's an adaptation of an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story.
