- PinkFloydFan, on 10/23/2008, -0/+11Didn't they already do that?

With a cover like that, there's no way you can beat the original. - groonk, on 10/23/2008, -0/+11the direct to dvd animated version of Dr Strange was the best animated feature Marvel ever unleashed upon the world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Strange_(2007_ ...
if the live action movie is half as good, then i'm on board. - Sererena, on 10/23/2008, -0/+10"By the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak!"

Though I actually really like Doctor Strange. - pitchblack16, on 10/22/2008, -0/+8Could be good, don't know what his list of villains would be or what kind of plot the movie would center around, but could be good.
- mkwng, on 10/23/2008, -0/+8By the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth!
- mugupo, on 10/23/2008, -0/+6Can they possible make a movie caleld Marvel vs Capcom? haha that would most epic!
- bicyclethief, on 10/23/2008, -0/+5I fear his mystical hand gestures could be mistaken for the shocker.
- gymbrall, on 10/23/2008, -0/+4How about Hugh Laurie as Strange?
- nickert0n, on 10/23/2008, -0/+3He stuffed his pantaloons.
- jaxcs, on 10/23/2008, -0/+3It's gotta be the Clea/Dormammu saga or the Baron Mordo rivalry. Both are simple stories and tailor made for the big screen.
- inactive, on 10/23/2008, -0/+3Bring him on.
- IronTek, on 10/23/2008, -1/+4Nope, I just can't read that title without seeing it as "Dr. Strangelove," no matter how many times I try...
- notquitegone, on 10/23/2008, -0/+3IMO, they're gearing up for Civil War/WWHulk. In which case, it would be important for them to introduce Dr. Strange since he was an influential character in both sagas.
Plus he's a master magician. How rad is that? - Leviathan433, on 10/24/2008, -1/+4I would watch the ***** out of this movie.
- BigDaddy123, on 10/23/2008, -1/+4I'd watch a Mephisto movie before watching a Dr. Strange movie.
- tavisjohn, on 10/23/2008, -0/+3The second Hulk movie was an "I'm sorry" to the fans for the horrid first Hulk movie!
- inactive, on 10/23/2008, -0/+3Having grown up a comic geek in the 80's, I must say this is a great time for comic book fans. It looks like Hollywood is starting to take these movies seriously, some of the movies are very good. I love Doc Strange, can't wait to see this film.
- cesclaveria, on 10/23/2008, -0/+3it has potential, but I wonder if they want to tie him to the same "Movieverse" as Iron Man and Hulk, or is going to be separated?
Maybe the same universe as the Ghost Rider (but actually good) - JesusTeaseUs, on 10/23/2008, -0/+3You are in luck then. They are working on an Avengers movie. It was hinted at in both the new Hulk movie, and the Iron Man movie. I think the projected date is 2011 or something.
- RobotBuddha, on 10/23/2008, -0/+2I applaud any movie that features something awesome versus another awesome thing.
- RobotBuddha, on 10/23/2008, -0/+2I've been pleasantly surprised by a lot of marvel's stv animations. Together with the 'wolverine and the x-men' cartoon, it's a pretty solid block of stuff that both kids and adults could enjoy.

spidey, ironman, wolverine, dr strange
my faves are getting some Marvel loving! - chadillak, on 10/23/2008, -0/+2Dr. Strange sure wears some fancy clothes.
- vonbroner, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2Kinda caught that ; )
- paradexes, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2Dormammu is better. He is alot more badass than MyFistToe.
- sfacets, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2Hmmm...
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2Only if Jean Claude Van Damme reprises his role as Guile
- brundlefly76, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2im always up for some strange
- BillyB, on 10/23/2008, -0/+2Must find a copy of this. ASAP. Perfect for my halloween party.
- sfacets, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1What? The most boring hero ever? This will be a hit with the over 70's.
- vonbroner, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1Not trying to start anything, but... UN-merchandised? Need I remind you of the Dark Knight Pizza from Papa Johns the had some chick quipping about "the Joker owes me a new car"? I respect any opinion either way, everybody has different tastes, but to say comic-conversion movies suck then say you thought a comic book movie was excellent is totally double-sided.
I know you said "literally almost" every comic based movie, but that makes me think you didn't like other movies, such as Wanted, Sin City, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 300, V for Vendetta, Annie, The Crow, The Rocketeer, Robocop, 30 Days of Night, or From Hell. Because for what they're worth, they were very successful as movies. - Socratores, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1Bad idea.
- 20grams, on 10/23/2008, -4/+5Had RDJ not already been chosen for Iron Man, he'd make a decent Dr. Strange, here's to hoping they don't **** it up which they will
- Slybri, on 10/23/2008, -0/+1He was sort of a member of The New Avengers during the Civil War.
- Oztog, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1Santa Clause conquers the space martians?
- rwongphoto, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1I tried him a few times in the Ultimate Marvel game on PS2 and couldn't figure him out. Definitely a weird character in the game so I think it would translate well onto the screen.
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1As much as I like Dr. Strange, I don't think enough people would know who that is to make it viable. Just stick with Hello Kitty and other overkill for blockbusters...
- phantomThought, on 10/23/2008, -0/+1...or they at least need to put more time and effort into regulating which movie studios can make which Marvel superhero group flick next. It seems that a lot of comic book fans think, "oh sweet! It is my favorite hero(es) on the big screen!" and then not care at all if the movie plot is boring/full of holes, the characters are two dimensional, the dialogue is cheesy (as in actors are being serious but it comes off campy instead of the "Harrison Ford in Star Wars cheesy" that comes off entertaining), the time era/setting is unimaginative (e.g. no alien worlds, hardly any fantasy/sci-fi technology, lack of distinct mood--think BladeRunner, no extravagant nemesis lairs, etc.), underwhelming action from supposedly super-powered individuals, etc. Iron Man and Spiderman 2 are, imo, the only two, or at least the two best, good comic book movies that have been released so far. As some graphic novel artists/writers have said, comic book heroes are our modern day equivalent of ancient mythological heroes. Unfortunately, the big screen translations come off as anything nearing the quality of ancient mythology in terms of betrayal, fighting, lust, love, curses, mysteries, manipulation, deceit, etc. There is so much to be shown with the Marvel characters (and DC) and so little is produced (movie-wise, not necessarily comic book wise). Of course, I could just be expecting more than I should, but when I read about the Fantastic Four, X-Men, the Avengers, Spiderman, Batman, Green Lantern, etc. I definitely imagined something more impressive than what has been delivered. Just my two cents.
- notquitegone, on 10/25/2008, -0/+1.'*
- newbill123, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1Hasn't Hollywood already done enough corny, high-collar, mysterious magicians in the past? Admittedly not recently, but the idea seems already so stereotyped (not in a good way) that Marvel will be going against popular expectations rather than with them (as they did with Iron Man, SpiderMan, and the Hulk).
If they try to do this, they better not think "Everyone will love to see Dr. Strange on the big screen." They had better know they are committing to a large advertising campaign before hand to re-orient people's expectations. And this isn't even considering the pro-Palin, "real American", fundamentalists out there who will be outright offended by the use of non-biblical magic. - kilodelta, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1who?
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1Dr. Queer? (no offense to any homosexuals on here)
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1Never been a big fan of Dr. Strange, but the character has potential. If a good script can be formed and they have top of the line SFX I don't see why this couldn't be a blockbuster.
- newbill123, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1How about: Doctor Strange In Love
- Jonlennon1973, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1 I would rather see a remake of Dr Strangelove
- Oztog, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1What you didn't' see ghost rider?... or the fantastic four movies...or the punisher movies...or the captain America movie...oh and for the most part X3 : the last stand...yeah they pretty much blew donkey nuts
