Lots and lots of Europeans visit the city each year, hence it's becoming such a big tourist attraction. They have a huge festival each year in Dubai for a month in "winter", and the whole city gets full really. Traffic gets *extremely* bad.

It's absolute paradise compared to what Bangladeshi migrants endure in Dubai. Same deal in Saudi Arabia. I once spent three weeks in Saudi for work, it was really heartbreaking to see. Stopped in Dubai on the way back, beautiful place, but it has been built with nothing less than slave labour.
