- BoonTobias, on 05/06/2008, -3/+28it's awesome that the movie technology has caught up to what should be shown when it comes to super heroes,
unlike the embarrassing 80s and the early 90s- Impeller, on 05/06/2008, -1/+4Totally right, remember that old "The Flash" movie? Those "effects" were sad...
- dafragsta, on 05/06/2008, -5/+4Yeah, but it had a killer theme song.
Flash! AAAAAaaaaaah! Savior of the universe!- soupeh, on 05/06/2008, -1/+4The Queen song you refer to was for the early 80's adaptation of Flash Gordon.
...Not 'The Flash'. - chiefbandit2200, on 05/06/2008, -1/+4that's flash gordon
- bagboyrebel, on 05/06/2008, -5/+1They're totally the same thing.
- SolitarySoviet, on 05/06/2008, -1/+4thats flash GORDON not "the flash"
ones a he-man type in space and the other runs really really fast... - dougmc, on 05/06/2008, -2/+3Flash Gordon != The Flash. (or did I miss some sarcasm?)
Still, that whole movie rocked (Flash Gordon) -- just the right amount of cheese. And yes, the soundtrack did rock.
Perhaps the 80s were good for soundtracks? I can think of many examples of good ones ... - ZenMojo, on 05/06/2008, -6/+3I love how people don't get sarcasm.
- soupeh, on 05/06/2008, -1/+4The Queen song you refer to was for the early 80's adaptation of Flash Gordon.
- dafragsta, on 05/06/2008, -5/+4Yeah, but it had a killer theme song.
- fpaudon, on 05/06/2008, -0/+16And we'll be saying the same thing in 20 years
- sanman, on 05/06/2008, -1/+4Nah, in 20 years we'll have that stuff for real, on the 6 o'clock news
- solid12345, on 05/06/2008, -6/+7Well I prefer the Dolph Lundgren Punisher 100x to that crappy Thomas Jane rendition, and honestly Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the FIRST movie, is still better than alot of big budget modern hero movies I think.
- cadmiumpaint, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2anybody remember seeing parts of the fantastic 4 movie from the 90s...yeah those horrible spandex suits were laughable.
- warplayer, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1There was no Fantastic Four movie in the 90s, you lose. Look it up, only an animated series (that was quite good).
- Gizza, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3There was one that was created for the sole purpose of holding on the the license, but it was never released in cinemas. Youtube it for a good laugh.
- cadmiumpaint, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2ahhhh so thats why they made it...i just always thought it was a failed experiment kinda like low budget captain america....
- cadmiumpaint, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1actually you loose. If you were a big enough comic book geek you would have seen the leaked pics in Wizard and other comic mags back in the 90s. It looked HORRIBLE......
- Gizza, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3There was one that was created for the sole purpose of holding on the the license, but it was never released in cinemas. Youtube it for a good laugh.

- Mikhail101, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2Does the name Noob Saibot sound familiar to you Boon ;)
- PopcornDave, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2But you work with what you have at the time. That's not to excuse Flash Gordon by any stretch, but you look at the original King Kong and compare it to the one that came out in the 70's or the latest and you can say the same thing. Even if you look at old Harryhousen work it looks stiff, but everything evolves.
- Vazel, on 05/06/2008, -0/+4Batman? Superman? Hello? Those were fine movies with good special fx.
- Impeller, on 05/06/2008, -1/+4Totally right, remember that old "The Flash" movie? Those "effects" were sad...

- PopcornDave, on 05/06/2008, -2/+2Don't give these ***** in Hollywood any ideas or we'll be seeing Thundercats: the movie or even something as horrid as The Mighty Heroes: the movie.
Mighty Heroes ( for those who weren't around then ) :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mighty_Heroes- Kaeto, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1at first I was intrigued till I clicked on that link...cringes
- PopcornDave, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1And yes it really was that bad. Even for Ralph Balkshi.
- Kaeto, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1at first I was intrigued till I clicked on that link...cringes
- raynar, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3how bouta thundercats movie?
- Kaeto, on 05/06/2008, -2/+0I thought the japs already did one.
- haydesigner, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Japanese.
Not Japs.

- ZenMojo, on 05/06/2008, -4/+2Thor won't work unless it pokes fun at itself either by being a comedy or taking the Ultimate Avengers route. The concept is so laughable that it just won't work on film. There, I said it, fanboys, now go cry to your mamas. The comic book had to be killed off several times and finally all of the characters killed because no one was interested in reading it either.
- JimiB, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2Yep, I'm with Zen here, unless they decide to at least suggest that Thor is a crazy in an enhanced suit it won't go over too well with the general public.
- Dragular, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Actually, from the bit that I've read, they're not even making it based much on the comic aspect of it, the Thor flying around Manhattan or something, but more on the Norse aspects of it. If they actually make it like a fantasy, then yes it'll work.
- Berkana, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2TECHNOVIKING!

- metallikop, on 05/06/2008, -2/+31Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers, and possibly Ant-Man? The future definitely looks bright for comic book fans. DC will continue to release Batman and... more Batman. (not that it's a bad thing)
- DanteDefiance, on 05/06/2008, -5/+17In DC's defense, they may only have Batman but Batman is greater than 90% of the superheros....
Also, Marvel is starting to run out of dudes to make movies about. Whose next? Stiltman?- diadem2, on 05/06/2008, -0/+18Blade was obscure when he first came to the big screen....
- PabloIV, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3also a stiltman movie would rock
http://www.marvel.com/universe/Stilt-Man - Unlgued, on 05/06/2008, -0/+6Marvel has a HUGE sack full of interesting characters that haven't seen any screen-time. I'm also totally willing to forgive and forget a lot of the &*%$ that came out before they set up their studio.
- DurtyJ, on 05/06/2008, -0/+9Iron Fist.
Deadpool.
Thunderbolts.
Three awesome movies right there. Plus if they ever want to do something really interesting they could just make a movie on the Marvel Civil War.- KingGorilla, on 05/06/2008, -1/+3Or even better Marvel Zombies!
- warplayer, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Civil War would freakin own.
- fadetoone, on 05/06/2008, -3/+4"they may only have Batman"
Um... Superman?
Unless you are counting out Superman because of the lawsuit... then ok.- diadem2, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1what lawsuit?
- fadetoone, on 05/06/2008, -0/+8The one where the family with rights to the ownership of Superman won them back.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 05/06/2008, -0/+8So that's why there's no Superman Goes Away Again.
- kingmanic, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Did Superman fair poorly, thus no sequel until the mediocre buzz from the last one fades.
- Coffeedemon, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I don't think it did as well as they thought it would (still made ~400M worldwide) but I think the sequel is still a go for next year.
- diadem2, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1what lawsuit?
- mizatt, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I too am very interested to see how they might make a movie out of "Ant Man"
no offense to the character, but man, that is a challenge as far as movies go- carpeclunes, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3Here is how they are going to overcome that challenge: Edgar Wright is directing.
- amoirae, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Nick Frost *IS* Ant-Man!
- antdude, on 05/06/2008, -2/+1I will be in it. [grin]
- carpeclunes, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3Here is how they are going to overcome that challenge: Edgar Wright is directing.
- Encablossa, on 05/06/2008, -11/+1What are they thinking? Captain America? HAHAHAH
That name alone screams patriotism. Now Digg me down slaves!! - Versh, on 05/06/2008, -0/+5The Watchmen is technically a DC franchise... so they have that. And Wonder Woman has been written and re-written, then scrapped, then written again... um, and there might be talks of a Green Lantern movie.
In general, I guess DC only has Batman.- TheJokerV, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2I think the Green Arrow would make a good movie. Has a batman-esque to him. The martian manhunter would also be awesome IMO.
List of great DC heroes which would make great(hopefully) movies: Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, Nightwing, Teen Titans, Green Latern, (Corps), Superman + Doomsday(would be amazing), Aquaman(maybe), Question(could be very good if done right), Justice Legue, Captain Atom,
Thats all I could think of off the top of my head but I do agree that many of these are rather obscure characters. They could still make great movies if given the right treatment. Also I think DC villians a much more amzing Marvel villians.
- weeman43302, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2I really wish they would do a Teen Titans movie
- kingmanic, on 05/06/2008, -1/+3Ummm... Weeman43302 you may want to think about this one. Teen Titans, demographic 10-14. It'll cast random bag of nickelodeon tikes and it'll be the cheesiest, most poorly though out piece of garbage.
- PabloIV, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1You're generally right, but after Avatar some of my faith has returned for the people who make content for that demo
- TheJokerV, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2I think the Green Arrow would make a good movie. Has a batman-esque to him. The martian manhunter would also be awesome IMO.
- cwilson, on 05/06/2008, -0/+4I know it has a huge potential to fail, but I would like to see Vertigo (which is owned by DC) to make a movie out of Fables. If done right, it could have some serious charm and a really kick ass movie.
- Vazel, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I'm a big fan of the comics but I don't think a property like that would transition well to the big screen.
- carpeclunes, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1We need a line of Vertigo movies. I vote for Preacher.
- fearofsociety, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1It's in production for HBO last I heard. Powers Booth in the lead role? IMDB has taken down the page and moved it to their pay area for the time being. Anybody have any other info on it?

- scamper22, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2I'm still waiting for spiderman with a proper venom instead of the comedic act that was spidy3.
I'm still waiting for xmen with apocalypse.
Sorry, saturday morning fox was too good.- romeyinfc, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I think Goth/Emo Spidey ***** away any chance of that happening
- NeoCortex, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Ant-Man, though? Really? That's the best they can come up with?
"This summer, Ant-Man faces his greatest enemy yet: The Orkon Man."
- DanteDefiance, on 05/06/2008, -5/+17In DC's defense, they may only have Batman but Batman is greater than 90% of the superheros....
- diadem2, on 05/06/2008, -4/+53are they pretending the last hulk movie never existed or something?
- OpusMortis, on 05/06/2008, -3/+46I would.
- LocalScope, on 05/06/2008, -1/+54Everyone is.
- Phasmorphage, on 05/06/2008, -1/+39Pretty much yeah.
- Dan11023, on 05/06/2008, -9/+1I really hope you are being sarcastic
- kettlehead, on 05/06/2008, -18/+14I seem to be alone in this, but I actually kind of enjoyed the last hulk movie...
- jamesov89, on 05/06/2008, -4/+13you are alone.
- dsgamer, on 05/06/2008, -3/+6i thought it was a decent movie. never really was much of a comic book fan though
- Kaeto, on 05/06/2008, -4/+0/GASP BLASPHEMY!! may we burn him?? please?
- Impeller, on 05/06/2008, -1/+26Which Hulk movie?
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 05/06/2008, -0/+15Marvel sure is.
- solid12345, on 05/06/2008, -2/+53I wish I could forget Spider-Man 3 existed.
- drmangrum, on 05/06/2008, -0/+4Which is sad. That movie had so much potential. If they had just focused on venom, sandman, or the goblin it would have been fine. Too much story line, not enough time. You would have thought they would have learned their lesson with all the batman movies. Soon as they started introducing more than one villain at a time, the series when to crap.
- Coffeedemon, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3Agree. They tried to do too much. Two villains and their origins, the usual internal conflict for Peter, the relationship struggles and the ridiculous emo-Peter. Plus they managed to rewrite the relationship between a villain and the Spiderman origin (Sandman and Uncle Ben) .... that had to ***** some folks off mightily.
- blackbeardtron, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2And let's not forget... Peter Parker dancing down the street like a retard, and flipping around in a jazz club like a moron... Oh God... the memories haunt me.
- romeyinfc, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3Don't forget those finger guns - pow pow

- Spottswood, on 05/06/2008, -1/+12I uh... kinda actually.. liked Hulk *braces for impact*
- goldpress, on 05/06/2008, -5/+3Everyone is entitled to their own opinion... even if it is wrong.
- TheJokerV, on 05/06/2008, -0/+6I liked it too. But it definately would have been better if there was more Hulk smash.
- Spottswood, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1Thats true, it was lacking in the hulk smash department, but i really loved how Ang Lee turned it into a proper epic greek tragedy
The new one isn't gona be anything like that style
- Spottswood, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1Thats true, it was lacking in the hulk smash department, but i really loved how Ang Lee turned it into a proper epic greek tragedy
- Diderotten, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2So I'm NOT the only one!
- Colecoman1982, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3Actually, from the looks of the preview in front of Iron Man, it looks like the movie starts off exactly where the Ang Lee Hulk movie left off just with Edward Norton playing Banner. Basically, he's hiding out in the jungles of South America when the US government hunts him down in the hopes of using him as a weapon.
- XombieRobot, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1Bruce Banner? Is that you?
- DeepFriedFetus, on 05/06/2008, -16/+4Holy *****, I cummed
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 05/06/2008, -2/+8You really need to have that checked out. Some day you're going to see a movie trailer at your parent's house and cum on your mother.
- amoirae, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I think someday already happened.
- Fallout911, on 05/06/2008, -4/+1I also came!

- Trevor, on 05/06/2008, -1/+77Permit me to say:
***** YES.
Marvel's risky move of creating their very own movie studio, and with Iron Man, essentially the largest, biggest budget 'independant' movie of all time, will pay off huge for them. The absolute creative control over the cinematization (new word!) of their remaining stable of superheroes, will create the sort of quality of movie and continuity of characters and setting that fans of these movies have pleaded for since...well, since it became clear that the Marvel characters farmed out to other studios were going to be compromised. Compromised on budget, on poor directors, miscast actors, scripts by people who've never read a comic book, and movie execs in suits saying things like "I think we need a DTV prequel to Daredevil" and "Can we get everything in the Fantastic Four movie to be mindless, flashy crap? Because we really want to hit the MTV demo on this one, mmmkay?" etc.
If Incredible Hulk is any good, Marvel will truly be on their way.- CannedMango, on 05/06/2008, -0/+22Hopefully Marvel can cut Sony and Fox out of the picture and remesh Spider-Man, X-Men and the Fantastic Four back into the same universe as the Avengers.
- warplayer, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I know...I really wish they would have saved Spider-Man until they had their own studio. The liberties taken with that story are just unnecessary.
- CannedMango, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1I agree, but it's pretty conceivable that without the success of Spider-Man, Marvel could never have established their own studio and been able to even consider putting out a movie like Iron Man. I don't know how long the deal with Sony is, but when it expires, let the good times roll.
- warplayer, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I know...I really wish they would have saved Spider-Man until they had their own studio. The liberties taken with that story are just unnecessary.
- gmprunner, on 05/06/2008, -2/+10Actually, I think the Star Wars films are the biggest independent films of all time since I think every one of them is technically independent.
- acdcfanbill, on 05/06/2008, -0/+9Fox put up cash for the first one, George did for the rest.
- blackbeardtron, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3Yep. He took all the mad money he made from merchandising on the first one (he kept full control of merchandising, and made a killing on action figures, etc) and completely financed the others.
He just used Fox for distribution at that point.
- blackbeardtron, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3Yep. He took all the mad money he made from merchandising on the first one (he kept full control of merchandising, and made a killing on action figures, etc) and completely financed the others.
- acdcfanbill, on 05/06/2008, -0/+9Fox put up cash for the first one, George did for the rest.
- fearofsociety, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2I have to admit the CGI for Hulk looks worse than the first movie, but I like that they seem to be concentrating on Bruce Banner on the run from the govt more than just Hulk smashing. I'm still undecided on it, but I remain hopeful. Edward Norton is a huge plus.
- NCSUspoon, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I actually wish they wouldn't make another Iron Man movie. As much as I loved the one that just came out (and I did) I just don't want to see it become something milked to death. It was good as it is, but there is no more back story they can really squeeze out in an entertaining way. Please just let this good thing stand alone.
- warplayer, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Iron Man was the first Marvel Studios film, Iron Man 2 will be their first sequel, so I am very excited to see what they do with it. You are used to your favorite characters being abused by the major studios...hopefully Marvel Studios will be able to avoid this.
- CannedMango, on 05/06/2008, -0/+22Hopefully Marvel can cut Sony and Fox out of the picture and remesh Spider-Man, X-Men and the Fantastic Four back into the same universe as the Avengers.
- wedges, on 05/06/2008, -5/+2i'm excited for the future, but with the Hulk coming this summer (and i fear it will be a bomb since most people don't know it's a reboot) the outlook might not be quite so sunny, especially with lesser known properties
- john1108, on 05/06/2008, -0/+8it is NOT a reboot. it is a continuation but with a different actor.
- warplayer, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1"But Norton had well-established (if underground) writing experience and strong ideas about how to separate the film from any confusion over its connection to the 2003 Ang Lee version by casting it in a more distinct, starting-over vein like 'Batman Begins' or 'Casino Royale.'"
- john1108, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Its not a reboot in the sense that it doesnt show the origin of the hulk. at the end of the first movie hulk was in south america. At the begining of this new hulk movie it starts off in south america with the hulk evading capture by US troops.
Now you tell me, is this a reboot or not?

- dalnet22, on 05/06/2008, -1/+16Avengers, please.
- psbpv3o, on 05/06/2008, -0/+6It's in there....and yes it will be awesome, all good actors are playing the characters so far. Robert Downey Jr.-the perfect iron man, Edward Norton-looking to be (and almost without a doubt) an excellent hulk. Combine these all together and you get the best movie ever!!!
Plus, RDJ is set to have a cameo in Hulk, along with ********************SPOILER******* Samuel l as Nick Fury, this is shaping up to be an awesome series of movies.
THANKYOU MARVEL!!! - agentsirus, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I second that. As BAD ASS as Iron Man was, I would love to see them take it to the next level with the Avengers, not just cash crop the Iron Man franchise.
- psbpv3o, on 05/06/2008, -0/+6It's in there....and yes it will be awesome, all good actors are playing the characters so far. - Apokalips1337, on 05/06/2008, -6/+3Captain America was not the first Avenger.
he replaced Hulk in the second issue- jonshipman, on 05/06/2008, -0/+11Maybe because he was found and "believed" to be the oldest (Thor... well, I like the Ultimates retelling)
- Charlesbian, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3the entire original avenger group was replaced early on
- supertaliman, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Woo Hoo, I'm so excited!! It's going to be a few good years of movies!!!
- mediaspree, on 05/06/2008, -1/+49Why can I only think of Fabio to play Thor. Am I gay?
- Majupra, on 05/06/2008, -2/+12Yes. Yes you are.
- mizatt, on 05/06/2008, -0/+12Sean Bean could probably play Thor
- bytor4232, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2Dude, you just blew my mind. Boromir FTW
- soupeh, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I wholeheartedly support this notion.
- RetlawST, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1If there were some way to get this comment to marvel and have them listen to it, I would do it.
- c4mden, on 05/06/2008, -0/+5i thought Thor was well cast in 'Aventures in Babysitting'...
- synaesthesia, on 05/06/2008, -9/+9Captain America could be great, positively great, if they did it right. Nobody these days is proud to be an American but if they coincided it with the exit of Bush from the White House there might be a patriotic upsurge that the movie could tap into. Capturing the pride of being an American conflicted with disagreement over our nations actions could be a killer backdrop to an excellent superhero flick.

- DrPaul2008, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3I just read this comment at www.slashfilm.com/2007/06/13/captain-america-movie-next-for-marvel . I don't know whether or not "Paco" is right about Marvel, or the concept of Cpt. America, but I like the comment none the less.
"There is a reason why Captain America is dead, and it’s because the part of the United States that was “America” is gone.
I can’t figure out how they’re going to pull this movie off in a modern day setting. Captain America has has always been the embodiment of liberty, and justice, even if the United States wasn’t/isn’t. Unless Marvel is really going to get into an amazing story about how Captain America is going to take on big government like, Neo vs the Matrix, attempting to free the US subjects, and restore freedom, they won’t be able to do a modern day story. I guess there is a chance that we could see Captain America spewing propaganda about giving up some liberty in order to be safe.. If Marvel does a “Captain Nationalism”, Patriot-Act-endorsing, version of Steve Rogers, I won’t sit through it.
Have some balls, Marvel. Do it right!"
For some reason, all I can think of is the Team America theme song. :D

- Encablossa, on 05/06/2008, -6/+3^ Typical comment from comic fan, ages between 8 - 15.
- Encablossa, on 05/06/2008, -10/+4Yes, comic concepts are ***** stupid. Never in my life time did I see a man with a cape saving the world! And they all have the same formula.. Batman was an exception.
Switch to Sci-Fi ! - PabloIV, on 05/06/2008, -1/+7Substance? Seriously? Most of these properties are older than anything else out there, the stories are rich and detailed and play on essential human emotions. Every single marvel property done right has the potential of doing what Iron Man did. You just have to show it the love and freedom that Favreau had for Iron Man.
- twertyto, on 05/06/2008, -2/+2I'd have to assume that you've just grown up with the crap and don't know any better...or you are delusional. You can't seriously tell me that these stories are rich. They are unoriginal for the most part, character development is poor, and they have absolutely no depth to them. Batman as I said is a minor exception. X-men, the new Superman, Spiderman?!?!...are you kidding me.
- Coffeedemon, on 05/06/2008, -1/+4I think he's talking about the source material. There are decades worth of plots there and most of the major characters have developed quite nicely through the years. The hard part is getting it to work in a two hour movie. As for emotions you have angsty teens, revenge seeking scientists, the heights of nobility and the depths of depravity, revenge, empathy, greed, etc. Its all there there just needs to be a writer skilled enough to boil it down and not make it look stupid when lines are delivered by a huge man in spandex.
- twertyto, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I agree that the source material is excellent. No doubt but it doesn't translate well into 2 hours.

- jon30041, on 05/06/2008, -2/+2Damnit, no. Civil War started good, then it went to *****. Absolute *****. I should know, I own EVERY individual comic involved.
So much potential... and they screw it up. The Luke Cage Avengers issue was badass, though... same with Punisher's entrance into the fray... Otherwise, very disappointing.- sovietninja, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Don't lie, you downloaded it off Demonoid.
- ShadySpace, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1It doesn't matter if it wasn't well executed in the comics (which I personally disagree with btw), it was a fantastic concept that was a mind-blowing reinvention of the classic "heroes beat the crap out of each other" story that we've all come to love over the years and could be a masterpiece on film.
- Dragular, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Yeah if you've got the $30 billion for the budget. Robert Downey Jr., Tobey McGuire, the entire cast of X-Men... hefty, hefty price. Plus all of these properties are strewn about at different studios, so you'd have to either wait until their contracts run up or buy them out... I'd love to be the lawyer that gets a percentage on all of those deals.
- Reese268, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Unfortunately, it probably wouldn't work on film... partially for the reasons outlined by Dragular. With a different cast, and made as a tv mini-series, it could work, I think. Unfortunately though, historically such tv series haven't been very successful. Heroes is the exception to the rule.

- CannedMango, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1That's been the word for a while now, but he still didn't get any mention in the press release... almost as if he isn't even worth including.
The interesting thing about Ant-Man is that Edgar Wright approached Marvel about doing the movie, not the other way around, and apparently had a script he had been working on for a while. The sheer fact that he's enthusiastic about doing it makes me a little bit excited about it. Passionate directing often leads to good results.

I totally agree, Spiderman and Wolverine are necessary for and Avengers flick to work. Even if you didn't personally like the 3rd installments of their franchises you can't argue that Toby MacGuire and Hugh Jackman were phenomenal in their roles.- bagboyrebel, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1umm... you know that there's a reply button?

If Matthew Vaughn can bring the same intensity to this film as he did Layer Cake then well, you might just have a blockbuster on your hands. Speaking of Layer Cake, Daniel Craig has blonde hair...
- sovietninja, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1No. He's James Bond now, I don't think it would be a good idea to cast him as Thor if that is what your implying.
- carl25, on 05/06/2008, -5/+1as much as i would love a thor movie, i think marvel is going to screw up most of them, at least for us comic book nerds
- sovietninja, on 05/06/2008, -0/+4If you were really a comic book nerd, you would have more faith in Marvel Studios. Weren't the comic book nerds crying about how the movies studios were making crap superhero movies and not allowing Marvel the freedom it needed? Now they have their own studio and your still thinking Marvel will screw it up? This is not George Lucas.

- fearofsociety, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I dunno. Brent Ratner kinda ruined X-men. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening.
- Reese268, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I too would love to see an AoA movie. Unlikely to happen, though.
I still feel a bit cheated by the X-Men movies. I liked them, sure, 3 being the least enjoyable.... but Wolverine isn't central to the X-Men to me, and he was the central character in all 3 movies. Meanwhile, my favorite characters were relegated to very minor roles, or not included in the movies at all.
