- thetrza, on 12/27/2008, -19/+743Good. I hate people who talk in movies.
- Ejamilo, on 12/27/2008, -20/+566This is why you just download the movie from home.
- inactive, on 12/27/2008, -18/+520he didn't shoot to kill. He shot him in the arm. Poor guy just wanted to hear his movie.
- DickyT83, on 12/27/2008, -5/+460John Wilkes Booth would approve.
- cvraider7, on 12/27/2008, -8/+261Brad Pitt is serious business.
- charm803, on 12/27/2008, -1/+232"Did Cialella run for it? Nope. He sat back down in his seat and watched the movie as others ran from theater. "
Oh crap. - fallingdamage, on 12/27/2008, -0/+211i remember when I went to the opening night of Return of the King and there was a guy in there with his girlfriend who kept taking calls during the movie. Someone finally shouted "shut the f*ck up!" and they got up and started to leave. I started to clap and within about 5 seconds everyone in the theater was applauding their exit.

- Al Capone - CoolHandRemy, on 12/27/2008, -3/+207I think Heckler & Koch should now sponsor movie theaters with an ad asking that you "please silence your face or be shot in it. Thank you."
- krakkinem, on 12/27/2008, -1/+198I know everyone here has fantasized about doing this.
- sleze, on 12/27/2008, -6/+187No, this is why you STFU in a movie theater in Philadelphia.
- GrooTheWanderer, on 12/27/2008, -1/+173I'm sure he puts a silencer on the gun first, to set a good example.
- solistus, on 12/27/2008, -0/+172Not a very good strategy, really. I can't imagine the guy made *less* noise with a gunshot wound to the arm than he did talking to his group. "AGHHH OH MY GOD MY ARM HE ***** SHOT ME WHAT THE *****" is probably pretty distracting, too.
- tmyprod, on 12/27/2008, -10/+173I see absolutely nothing wrong with this.
- benologist, on 12/27/2008, -2/+161In Philly that's kind of just background noise.
- Jeepinator, on 12/27/2008, -2/+128Now that I think about it, shooting them was probably easier.
- dubvulture, on 12/27/2008, -1/+122I wonder when he'll actually get to finish watching the movie.
- eadnams, on 12/27/2008, -7/+127people who talk in movies belong in the same place child molesters and telemarketers go when they die. Talk in the trailers, fine, but STFU in the film.
- redgiemental, on 12/27/2008, -15/+128They deserved it.
- AmericanGunner, on 12/27/2008, -7/+111Wish I had a gun while watching The Happening. And it wouldn't of been used on anyone but myself.
- tigerjk, on 12/27/2008, -5/+108agreed...some people just need that shot in the arm to SHUT THE ***** UP during a movie.
- lolwaffle, on 12/27/2008, -8/+105But the worst thing I ever done -- I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, t-t-then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa -- and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life.
- NuneTravels, on 12/27/2008, -2/+87So, how do you think he handles people who don't whisper in the library?
- mklopez, on 12/27/2008, -12/+92This is is appalling. Who would want to endanger a human life over Benjamin Button?
Now, if this would have been me during the new Star Trek movie, you get two "STFU"s before I reach for the gun - PsychoBrat, on 12/27/2008, -6/+85Yeah, he didn't shoot to kill. That's the bit I don't understand...
- workharderscum, on 12/27/2008, -1/+76Indeed. If you are going to shoot someone for talking during a movie, at least have the courtesy to use a silencer.
- Dumbledorito, on 12/27/2008, -0/+74So will this guy appear in those "Silence is Golden" bumpers after the trailers are over?
- ichbeineinrcg, on 12/27/2008, -0/+72Goonies is ALWAYS on topic!
- lies03, on 12/27/2008, -1/+72That is man love right there. All about Brad Pitt.
- jer2eydevil88, on 12/27/2008, -2/+71People who use their cell phones to text or browse the web are more annoying to me, I hate flashes of light distracting me during a movie. Especially when it cost $9 most places to even see a movie around me.
- Enderplayer1, on 12/27/2008, -2/+69One time I did that and the guy actually died via suffocation by dicks. It was glorious.
- Mossman85, on 12/27/2008, -2/+65This is one of the reasons I stopped going to the movies. No, I am not referring to people shooting other people. In fact, I would go BACK if this type of thing was more common.
- houndeyex, on 12/27/2008, -10/+73He still got charged for attempted murder, which I think is lame.
- AikoMiko, on 12/27/2008, -1/+63If he was so worried about noise he should have STABBED him.
I have a Kel-Tec .380 and it's a noisy little sucker. - david76, on 12/27/2008, -2/+58if you can't be bothered to stfu for a couple of hours you don't belong at the movies. Don't talk, don't text, just sit there and enjoy the movie. How freaking hard is that?
- dirtpoorchris, on 12/27/2008, -7/+57Maybe next time the guy will shut the ***** up. What a great way to teach respect to his own kids. By having a conversation during a movie.
- whahaa, on 12/27/2008, -1/+50@locojones
no way, i don't want to get shot. - RevJonathan, on 12/27/2008, -6/+55That's just a shot in the dark.
- esilverski, on 12/27/2008, -2/+51a true man of principle
- Richandler, on 12/27/2008, -1/+49At my movie theatre you don't tell people to be quite in fear you might get shot.
- smotpoker, on 12/27/2008, -8/+55@slear
I am pretty anti-gun but I agree with houndeyex. You shouldn't run around trumping up charges to punish people worse just because you think they probably deserve it.
If the guy was trying to shoot him in the arm it wasn't a murder attempt, simple as that. If you bust out some video footage of him screaming "I am definitely about to shoot you in the head right now!" and then putting the gun to his temple right before someone tackles him I may change my tune a bit but until then...
Too many people refuse to consider intent when they decide to punish people already. Intent isn't considered with every single criminal charge but it should be IMO and with "attempted murder" it does matter legally. - kirado4, on 12/27/2008, -8/+55This should be legal
- pixburgher, on 12/27/2008, -11/+55What the hell does that have to do with anything!?
- GrodyChamp, on 12/27/2008, -16/+60This is the best news I've read on Digg in a while! I wish every ***** that talked during a movie would get ***** shot.
- glitchbit, on 12/27/2008, -0/+43...I think more people here sympathize with the shooter than the victim.. lol
- Skurt, on 12/27/2008, -0/+42Goonies
- foot2000, on 12/27/2008, -2/+44finally someone gets fed up enough to do what i've alsways wanted to do.
cinemas need to play this news clip; before every movie as a cautionary statement now. - IAmTheGuy, on 12/27/2008, -3/+44http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4Uf9rsBbhc
