- bitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Uh right, only in india and only because of india's poor legal system. However we'll see how long this lasts.
Still it is in extremely bad taste and allows the mpa too much power.
Basically the mpa, is saying "The law? The law? Screw the law! We are the Law!"
Nothing much the indians can do about this, except for protest and complain. - whizzbang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its amazing what money can buy isn't it?
- danesparza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Badges? Badges? We don't need no steeeeeking badges!".
Yeah, MPA -- that's from a movie, called 'Treasure of the Sierra Madre'. So sue me.
-D - SirSid, on 05/27/2009, -0/+1im indian.... that really sucks
- JeffS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1MPAA pays Indian police to search homes. Pirates pay police to look the other way.
- Tweekster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It will be quite funny when some nonlaw enforcement attempts to search a place and he is simply shot, then kicked into the gutter.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Isn't this the same country where people starve to death because they don't want to kill the side of beef walking right past them?"
LOL, I've also heard americans rather starve themselves to death than eat their pet dogs.
"That is such a juvenile statement. I've heard 7 year-olds say similar things."
Didn't you know most pirates are teens?
"Well-publicized raids on pirates around the globe have done marvels for modern piracy!"
Nope, internet did that. Pirates are just teenagers, not Hell's Angels, you really think they can stand up against the FBI? Most of them piss their pants when FBI knock on their door.
"They're fighting a losing battle. They will never stop piracy, even if they censor the entire Internet."
They aren't trying to, they are just trying to reduce global piracy to the point that piracy will not be easy for the average person. - FunkyGuy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1they are prob gonna spend more money on trying to crack down on piracy than they are loosing, would be pretty funny.
- wa3yri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sw96... STFU?... how pleasant...Looks like it is time for anger management class! Too bad you hate free speech or are you some militant vegan? Tell me, are you Indian, Hindu or just a wonderful world traveler who is sooooo much better than everyone else? What are you some kind of walking Lexus/Nexus for India? Bottom line is Who Cares!......http://www.beefitswhatsfordinner.com YUM!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sw96
India is just another piss poor third world country, only they also speak butchered English and have a huge population.
Hooray for India. - ((PolyAst)), on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey, I miss TechTV too but I don't mind catching the 4 minute news segment they refer to as "The Feed". I'm just surprised that AOTS got the story out quicker than Digg. Sheesh.
- steely, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0India has the plague, rats running everywhere, and now lawyers are running free. Oh the humanity! Did I just compare lawyers to rats???
- socket, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good work not mentioning this took place in New Delhi, India.
- Bananas21ca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They're fighting a losing battle. They will never stop piracy, even if they censor the entire Internet.
- shooby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0damn india X_X....I was born there! But I got no accent bizatch

http://www.washtimes.com/world/20050826-103044-2399r.htm - dptechie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is absurd, a search warrant for an entire city. Did the MPAA get caught bribing NYC police? I am glad that it is in India and not in the US. Then again it would never happen in the US because even though money buys a lot its hard to buy everyone and some people have self respect and wouldn't take the bribe. Which means it wouldn't come to pass. Besides the justice system in India is seriously corrupt from the information that I gather.
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0“Consumers have a lot more authority these days and they know that by using technology they can gain access to content and they want to use the power that they have, said Iger. “We can’t stand in the way and we can’t allow tradition to stand in the way of where the consumer can go or wants to go.
It seems Disney gets it, they cant stand in our way, give us what we want and we will be happy. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Everything blows in India.
- kubedawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow. i saw the word "city" and immediately looked at the link and saw it was in india... i was bout to break out my rifle.
- sw96, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Isn't this the same country where people starve to death because they don't want to kill the side of beef walking right past them? Guess their legal system uses the same kind of logic!...who give a rats arse, I say, search the whole country and arrest everyone!"
STFU whitey. A large portion of India's population is Hindu, their religion doesn't allow them to eat beef. This might seem wierd to you, but I'm sure lots of common American practices seem weird to them also. There's nothing wrong with India, don't talk ***** unless you know what you're ***** talking about.
Anyway, I don't think it really matters as there are probably more pirated movies in India than legit ones. Piracy is rampant there, up to this point there has been noone to say "don't do that!" Bootlegs are more common than legit movies. - blackcypher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Gestapo tactics are used her in the states. Does the MPA hope to make a chilling example out of this Indian city so pirates around the globe will stand up and take notice? Well-publicized raids on pirates around the globe have done marvels for modern piracy!
- hoopy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Good digg!!!!
but how do I get on the front page?????"
You just add a sensationalist slant to your title. - Xertion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No smileys here.
F- India and globalization.
Put them all in jail or make them pay for what they stole from me, er,, the MPA.
Thanks. - albertsf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This would be some serious BullSh*t if it happened in the US, And if it ever does it proves are government has gone to hell. If this ever happens I will become a hacker and attack anybodys servers and pc's that thinks they can barge into my home with a search warrant for an entire city. YES IM ANTI-RIAA and MPAA. But sometimes we need them, But then again they sometimes push thing to far.
- mutant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0w...........t............f..............
Just cause its in India doesn't mean it won't be tried here.
I say boycott hollywood -- tell them to ***** thierselves. - TheTrueSora, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0MPA.... it doesn't desserve a digg because of that.
- skyshark88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Dude above link 1 day 18 hours ago i dugg it firdt befor AOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- psyonide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"they cant stand in our way, give us what we want and we will be happy."
That is such a juvenile statement. I've heard 7 year-olds say similar things. - WackyT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Another good reason not to live in India.

- sw96, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0You know what I just realized...? (What, you dont care? That's nice, you're still reading, eat ***** and die, eh?) America is a country full of ignorant little pricks who just don't care. "India sucks", "India blowszorz!!", do you really know anything about India?? (I'm waiting for the smartass to come along who claims the he does indeed know something about India after he quickly googles it). Probably not. Go back to your ignorant, powerless little jerk-off lives. Maybe if you're lucky America's leaders will continue President Bush's legacy and make some greater enemies to blow you all to hell.
God bless. - sw96, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Noo, not my precious Swingline!!
- skyshark88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Damn right!!!!!!!
- gmcsmalls, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0AOTS sucks..who would watch it?!
- psyonide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0WA3YRI:
People like you are the reason why Americans have a bad reputation. - SatNav, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That is absolutely *outrageous*!
And you know the police will use that warrant for whatever the hell they want. If they can't get a search warrant, all they have to say is they suspected there to be pirated materials. The one comment on the site (so far) says it all:
Glad I don't live in India. - skyshark88, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Good digg!!!!
but how do I get on the front page?????
