- Snokage, on 06/07/2008, -3/+52it seems as DiCaprio progresses through his career, the more I like him. He has alot of really awesome movies.
- SeaweedWater, on 06/08/2008, -6/+36On the other hand, this is could not be awesome.
- inactive, on 06/08/2008, -2/+29Loved him in The Departed.
- Sherman901, on 06/08/2008, -0/+25leonardo dicaprio is a badass actor. hopefully this is kind of like the aviator, which was a way badass movie.
- inhaler, on 06/08/2008, -1/+16The Beach...ah man...
- inactive, on 06/08/2008, -0/+15Catch me if you can...ah man...
- aenegeling, on 06/08/2008, -2/+15Agreed. Blood Diamond was great.
- Tonicks, on 06/08/2008, -0/+12Titanic made me hate Leo due to the fact that girls (and some guys) couldn't shut up about how cute he was, He has most definitely proven himself as a great actor who picks great films. I'm sorry for ever doubting him.
- iPirate, on 06/08/2008, -1/+12Will there be any focus on his creation of Chuck E. Cheese?
- benologist, on 06/08/2008, -0/+9I for one had no expectations for Leonardo DiCaprio as an actor. Over the years he's continuously surprised me by picking great movies to be a part of, and not only that doing a good job.
- skyshock1, on 06/08/2008, -1/+9The Beach was just awesome. It kinda flew under the critical acclaim radar and didn't get much notice. I think it was good despite Leo, but it is what it is.
- inactive, on 06/08/2008, -2/+9 Why does everyone bash Titanic or his role in it? It was great. I think too many guys especially online just bash it because teenage girls liked it so much that people like to be cool by pretending it sucked.
Titanic was good. - Yakovzoya, on 06/08/2008, -0/+7I'm on the fence about it. This is could go either way.
- LordVance, on 06/08/2008, -0/+6Yea, DiCaprio has always been a great actor - he just took some lame roles for a while there (and, if I looked like him and got paid that much, I'd certainly take those roles as well).
- musicfreak87, on 06/08/2008, -0/+6"This is could be really awesome"...WTF
- glory, on 06/08/2008, -1/+7Titanic was amazing.
- Mahoney07, on 06/08/2008, -1/+6He has good reasons for why he thinks that way. If you would actually read the article you would know that. He thinks there should be more games with offline multiplayer for the family. I'm guessing he loves the Wii.
- inactive, on 06/08/2008, -1/+5It's a pity that I first saw him as Arnie Grape. He was good enough in that role that I still see him and think, "That guy has done all right for a 'tard..."
- getbusyliving, on 06/08/2008, -0/+4Don't forget What's Eating GIibert Grape. He can be great.
- smashingmonkey, on 06/08/2008, -0/+4I did read the article. It's fine to think there should be more multiplayer, family-oriented games. But that doesn't mean that "Video games today are a race to the bottom. They are pure, unadulterated trash...”
And really, how would one adulterate trash? Add some fresh produce to it? - Haoie, on 06/08/2008, -0/+4Pong: The Movie can't be far away.
- inactive, on 06/08/2008, -0/+3Basketball diaries.
- peestandingup, on 06/08/2008, -0/+3The Aviator. Ahhhh *****! "Show me all the blueprints."
- doublejay1973, on 06/08/2008, -0/+3I often think where I would be today without Nolan Bushnell and his works.
Maybe I would have been an athlete, or explorer of rainforests. Maybe I'd teaching kids in Africa to platy soccer, with a trim muscular body and a healthy heart.
But thanks to Nolan, here I am on a sunny day, sitting at my console, with my mishapen spine from years of bad posture. Failing eyesight from hours at the screen, an body mass index that is more than high enough to get me out of breath climbing the stairs.
Because as youth, I learned to sit for hour upon hour 4ft from the tv, joystick in hand, obsessing over a high score. Great Days.
Thanks, Nolan.
- chkdg8, on 06/08/2008, -1/+4Please Leo, find a way to justify this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8_UoXy4R2A
- stafford72, on 06/08/2008, -0/+3No way, that was The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, David Fincher's new movie. It's based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story about a man who ages backwards. I can't wait for it.
- robybeef, on 06/08/2008, -0/+3i think the she meant "this are maybe awesome."
- bagboyrebel, on 06/08/2008, -0/+3Didn't know he was going to be in akira. But for the sake of relevance, I will probably see this movie because I think it could be pretty good.
- inactive, on 06/08/2008, -0/+2 Could be good, I never the story before. If they're going to do movies on game pioneers they should just film Masters of Doom. That could be a great movie.
- inactive, on 06/08/2008, -0/+2Ralph Baer ?
- freebsdmike, on 06/08/2008, -0/+2I'll definitely be seeing this movie.
- retawd, on 06/08/2008, -0/+2I guess since a successful movie like ET translated so well to the Atari console that they're banking that a successful console like Atari will translate equally well to a movie. I 'd be willing to bet that Atari - The Film is equally as good as ET - The Videogame. And with Leonardo D how can you go wrong? What teenage girl doesn't have fond memories of playing Atari back 15 years before she was born?
- Lynxpro, on 06/08/2008, -0/+2They should, since Pizza Time Theatre was in operation as a subsidiary of Atari's before Bushnell quit Atari and bought the rights to the pizza biz. Atari's story should be a cable tv miniseries...there's no way to tell most of the good stuff in 90 minutes.
- greevar, on 06/08/2008, -0/+2Yeah, it's called "Balls of Fury" ;) jk
- notoneofus, on 06/08/2008, -1/+2That's a bad example, because it sucked quite badly.
- containimated, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1You'd still be the same.
- dagooh, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1That's just a crappy Photoshop I made for my blog.
http://www.bitacoradejuego.com/2008/06/dicaprio-va ...
I didn't put it on the original post because it's in Spanish. - notoneofus, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1What's the title? Titanic II: Hell Cruise?
- smedrick, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1Yeah, he did an excellent performance in that movie. His acting is ***** in all other movies he's been in, though.
- dinostabOMG, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1TETSUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
- doublejay1973, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1he has spun out and said some cranky things.... no doubt.....but he's getting on in years i think ?
Anyway - his comments on your link were well-meaning but off the mark : back in the day, we were supposed pretend that 2 blobs of light on the screen were tanks battling each other.
Now we have the tech to draw realistic representations of tanks, so we dont have to pretend.
While this take games development down the "hollywood" route - it is, I believe, only a natural extension. - iSamurai, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1I'm probably one of the few, but I enjoyed The Aviator more than The Departed. I've always had a fascination with Hughes, and the whole cast was just amazing in that film. Also an interesting Hughes pic : The Hoax (2006) with Richard Gere.
- fxu1989, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1Is the Akira project a live-action or re-done as anime?
Either way, please don't ***** it up. - binorgog, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1Basketball Diaries was priceless
- inhaler, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1Never watched it. Seriously.
When the subliminal instructions are activated, I will be the lone man free from their control. - sb76117, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1Atari, its the wave of the future! Wave of the future...Wave of the future...Wave of the future...Wave of the future...Wave of the future...
- Musicmonkey34, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1I wonder if this will dive into Nolan Bushnell's Little Ceasars venture.
- RetroRufio, on 06/08/2008, -1/+2I know a few bisexuals... none of them have fences.
