- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+47Spacey said he wasnt interested in acting anymore.
This makes me believe him. - Scopitone, on 10/11/2007, -2/+33I was hoping Superman would actually fight a super villain this time and not simply catch planes or throw rocks.
- brufleth, on 10/11/2007, -1/+23In the sequel I bet Lex gets some kryptonite and depowers superman and then tries to kill him...just like in 60-70% of all stories featuring Superman. ::yawn::
- roflcawpter, on 10/11/2007, -4/+19Kevin Spacey: Come on, let me hear you say it, just once.
Random Ho: You're insane.
Kevin Spacey: No! No, not that the other thing. Come on, I know it's on the tip of your tongue.
Random Ho: You wont ever be Lex Luth ---
Kevin Spacey: WROOOOOOOOOOOOOONG! - geuisteses, on 10/11/2007, -5/+19Jesus. J-E-S-U-S.
That movie was HORRIBLE. Even Michael "*****" Bay was able to finally pull off a decent movie with Transformers that didn't destroy my fond childhood memories. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it was Spacey's fault that his role sucked. He's a great actor. However, ***** the writers/producers/whatever that approved the script on that movie.
"Super-powerful alien do-gooder returns from a transgalactic spaceflight. Once on earth, we bring back this much-loved character for the modern age by having him fight a badly-written super villain with an EVIL ***** REAL-ESTATE PLAN."
*****. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+18Good, another over acted movie that insults my intelligence and has no good action scenes.
- cheesefan, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14WRONG!
- kravex, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Aw come on! Please use SPOILER ALERT!
- ButterBuddha, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12I hope they don't make another crappy superman xbox360 game from this.....
- Battleloser, on 10/11/2007, -4/+13That superman movie sucked huge balls.
- revital9, on 10/11/2007, -4/+13Superman returns was one of the most boring movies I have ever seen. The lead actor was terrible. I hope they DON'T make a sequel.
- benlindelof, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10oh no not this sh!t again
- tastethevenom, on 10/11/2007, -11/+18The first movie in this [potential] series was bad. Simply... bad.
- STKD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7"EVIL ***** REAL-ESTATE PLAN"
You might want to check a little closer on what the first two Superman films were about with Lex.
Hint: Lex likes land. - jakejohnson, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Good on the man for sticknig to his guns and not letting theatre be trampled all over by Hollywood.
- Elranzer, on 10/11/2007, -6/+12The most disappointing thing about this article is that there's going to be a sequel to Superman Returns in the first place. I suppose Warner Bros and DC need to keep up with all the Marvel movie junk coming out.
- Waiting2awake, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6 OK, guys - but what if they bring in Doomsday?
Movie starts and we see the silhouette of a huge man wedging a long spike like thing into the ground in a near by field. Setting it up like a horse spike.
The scene changes to a beautiful summer morning. Birds are singing, kids are laughing, etc.
A small girl is walking with her little kitten. A small fluffy white kitten. Suddenly, the kitten takes off running up a tree.
Tearfully, the little girl cries for help.
Is it a bird? Is it a drag-queen? NO! It's superman.
Superman, after a 10 minute speech about leash laws, majestically soars up to get the kitten.
Suddenly, Superman is thrown to the ground with a thud, followed by a small half-eaten kitten.
Doomsday spends the next ten minutes alternating between beating the snot out of Superman, smacking the kid around, and telling the audience how he hates anyone without the common sense to wear their underwear on the inside.. - thinker1999, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Another ***** sequel in the works....
- gijoel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Can we have another supervillian other than Lex Luthor or Zod. Smallville did a lot of great things with Brainiac.
- RedZone09, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9RIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!
- sonar1, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10dialogue was garbage in superman returns. lex luther is a funny yet evil guy. he would have funny remarks against that dumb guy and he would try to smooth talk his way outta situations with superman. please, let kevin smith write this movie.
- Waiting2awake, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6 Clearly the documentary "Transformers" is more to your intellectual liking.
- zeiben, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I hope this next movie goes a bit more into Superman's past, and explains how he ended up thinking it was okay to hover outside people's houses, peep at their personal lives, hover silently in their bedrooms, etc.
- mal1964, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Now we read that rumors of Kevin's retirement from acting were exaggerated. Nice little interview
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/theatre/article-23401481-details/Spacey+loves+it+at+the+Old+Vic/article.do - fanclerks, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Clerks 2 - 'nuff said!
- fanclerks, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Did you happen to forget what the plot was of the first Superman movie? Oh right... a real-estate plan. Lex Luthor is obsessed with money and power, and since he's an evil genius, he knows that land is always in demand and is a good way to make money. Make new real estate, make lots of money. Duh.
- lrdscruffybttm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Can we not just jump to Dark Knight Returns so we can be done and over with it?
- Slybri, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4OOh I can't wait to see what the bald guy with no powers who defrauds elderly ladies has in store for the most powerful man in the universe. Maybe he'll use a piece of kryptonite to "kill" Superman and then ***** with geography. I hope this time he has a cool map to show off his real estate scheme.
Oh! And what happened with Superman's son. I'm so interested in that back story!
Oh and they should bring back Zod and have him played by some 20 something effete "is he gay?" metrosexual actor. It's what Chris Reeve would have wanted!
Somebody take Superman away from Singer before he ruins him for another 20 years. What's next? Superman flying around with Chris Rock trying to stop a computer man? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Nicely played gentlemen... nicely played.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Don't worry, he'll not be part of the 3rd in the series, probably directed by that hack Brett Ratner!
- est1979, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3What would make it bad is if it was just a stupid "punch out" action film with no soul. Am I the only one who saw the original Superman movie?
Ask yourself a question, was Batman Begins an action film or a Drama? Was it good or Bad? - dpcdomino, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Question...was Lex Luther Superman's ONLY FREAKING enemy?!?!
What about Bizzaro? That would be cool. - Rodman930, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Hopefully, he's the only actor they're bringing back.
- mabba18, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2or Brainiac, or Doomsday, or Mxyzptlk, or Toyman, or ANYBODY but Luthor+Krptonite!
- Battleloser, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2A diabolical scheme only superman could save us from.
- in2deep, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Awesome...he is one of the best in the biz!!
- neondiet, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3
Please please please ... NO MORE LEX LUTHOR!! See that, done it to death; brought the T-shirt and now I'd like to move on.
There MUST be some more interesting villains that they can pit against superman. - glock22ownr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Orgasmo !!
- norman619, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Finally some sanity!
- MurphyWatson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Uhm, Superman is like the lamest ***** hero in the first place, why would his villains be that much better?
- arbulus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The need to do a movie with villans beside Lex Luthor and other misc humans, like Brainiac, Darkseid, etc. There's just too much potential in a superman story to waste it on him fighting with humans.
- OSJunky, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Marlon Brando got 10 mil to do the father role, why not give Kevin Spacey a buck or 2?
http://www.supermanofsteel.com - Punisher2K, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Enough with Luthor already. Holy *****. The reason every Superman movie sucks balls is Luthor. Give us the Death of Superman story in movie form!
- givinupthefight, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Well done sir.
- hedde, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Superman is kind of boring because he is like invincible. How about regular people as superheroes? Hell, they should make an entire series of that! Then put it up for free on You Tube, MySpace and Torrent sites! Wait. That's what I'm doing ;) Check out the teaser for it over at http://www.andrehedetoft.com ;)
Sorry for the advert, I just had to. - est1979, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Well there's my point, most have no soul and are just stupid excuses for action sequences. This one tried to be more than that, and although it wasn't always successful, its a shame that it gets ragged on by people for wanting to be a decent film, not just a piece of disposable trash you forget about 5 min after you leave the theater.
- cyberwiz01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It's called Smallville.
- techlinks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1What you are saying is like talking about batman Begins and saying:
"Holy question mark! I can't believe Bruce Wayne got scared by bats and turned into Batman, AGAIN!" - Richandler, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yah the series should be restarted if it is going to be done again. Someone should start one of those big harrass the company to make them do something movements. And by that telling WB that we do not want a sequel and we do not want Bryan Singers next crappy version of Superman to be acknoledge. Please do like the Hulk and admit it sucked and start from scratch.
- Vtorch, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2The next Superman movie should be a reboot. The Superman character should be a lot less like Christopher Reeve and the Lex Luthor character should be a lot less like Gene Hackman. Lex Luthor should be a dark and greedy, GREEDY high tech industrialist and not a comedic burglar. Batman definitely has the best background story and rogues gallery, but Superman's isn't that bad either. Because of CGI, the Superman franchise should have no problem bringing in Darkseid, Brainiac, Doomsday, etc.....
Reboot this franchise, so Jonathan Kent can live and show his influence on Superman's life, like Uncle Ben did for Peter Parker. -
