- pentupentropy, on 07/18/2008, -1/+4Where's Kevin Smith reviewing Vulgar?
- dweeb79, on 07/18/2008, -1/+29Best superhero movie ever? Without a doubt; Yes
Is this film a happy film? Not even close
Does Heath Ledger deserve an Oscar? He is far more terrifying than Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs. Yes he does.
Does this film pay homage to 1989 Batman? Homage is paid everywhere.
If anyone finds that pen; please let me know ;)- StandardsDT, on 07/18/2008, -0/+8I think you mean Pencil :)
- ChairShot83, on 07/18/2008, -0/+9It was a pencil. (2nd viewing). I could have sworn that it was a pen too, lol.
Those damn group therapy sessions... - tripledjr, on 07/18/2008, -0/+5You might have to extract it from a skull...
- Teanuh, on 07/18/2008, -0/+8My friend and I had the silly thought that Heath's death could have just been a really sick, immoral, (but effective) marketing campaign, and that after opening weekend he would come out of nowhere saying "SIKE!"
Certainly wish that was true, after watching his performance last night, it is a damn shame we won't be seeing him in any more movies.- deadlikeoscar, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1Well, there is still The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus to look forward to.
- banido, on 07/18/2008, -5/+7"He is far more terrifying than Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs."
He was great, but no, he is not far more terrifying than Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs, but this is only an opinion from someone that is not biased like 99% of Diggers that suddenly worship Heath Ledger from out of nowhere.
And please, enough with the Oscar talk...- bylarke, on 07/18/2008, -2/+6Whats the problem with Oscar talk. I must say that i have never been a huge Heath Ledger fan. But he made this movie, and not because he died. I mean hell if Titanic can win an Oscar why can't Heath. I was a skeptic going into this movie. But he blows the face paint off of Jacks performance of the joker, anyone who can put forth a better portrayal then him is at least worthy of some Oscar buzz.
- banido, on 07/18/2008, -1/+2I agree his performance was great, but I do not agree with the Oscar talk because everyone has long been talking about that just by watching the trailers...the TRAILERS... come on it's pretty obvious people are letting their feelings(because of his death) cloud their judgement, and because it's their favourite comic.
Maybe he deserves an Oscar nomination, who knows, but I'll let the Academy decide that, we just cant force it, I mean it's just like if in the 80's Mark Hamill died after Star Wars and everyone started demanding an Oscar for him because everyone liked him (at least back then) and he was in everyone's favourite movie.
As for Batman, it's very rare (maybe it never happened) for superhero movies to get Oscar nominations in acting categories. - jamez, on 07/18/2008, -2/+2@bylarkebylarke
"Whats the problem with Oscar talk.?"
>Umm how about the Oscar talk started before moar than .01% of people had seen anythign other than previews.
***** ... if Ledger wins and doesnt' deserve it I will be sick on a canvas, frame it, label it 'what i think of the academy' and then ***** BURN IT - freakgd, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2You sir banido know something about movies.
- freakgd, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2You sir don't know ***** about movies.
- jamez, on 07/18/2008, -4/+12I cant wait to hear his take on it.
Go listen to SModcast. Now.- StrangeFamous, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6Seconded. SModcast is awesome.
- lead2thehead, on 07/18/2008, -1/+0You can catch it on XM 202 on Saturday nights.
- fosibodu, on 07/18/2008, -5/+2@dweeb79, pencil, actually.
- Peck3277, on 07/18/2008, -0/+5@fosibodu, reply, actually.
- alperea, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6I need to see the movie first.
- dissurmom, on 07/18/2008, -22/+6He's not dead yet? Kevin Smith is a piece of *****.
- dafragsta, on 07/18/2008, -0/+4You just wanted to get buried didn't you? The internet loves Kevin Smith.
/what the ***** is the internet?- cawpin, on 07/18/2008, -2/+1I'm hoping that as well. What has Kevin Smith ever done that wasn't good?
- alpha19, on 07/18/2008, -9/+2Agreed. He's a gigantic *****. This guy sucks ass. And seriously, what the ***** would Kevin Smith know about movies anyway? Especially something that actually cost money to make like Batman. Maybe when he learns how to direct films that cost more than a few thousand dollars, properly, I will think about taking the ***** seriously.
- Peck3277, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3Why how many movies have you made that cost more than a few thousand dollars?
- erad222, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're retarded.
- alpha19, on 07/18/2008, -1/+1Retarded? No. But thanks for asking.
I haven't made any movies that cost more than a few thousand dollars, but I also don't have it in my head that I'm a bigshot movie director that matters at all like this titwad. This piece of crap needs to go live in Burma. - Peck3277, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1So your just a "titwad" then?
- dafragsta, on 07/18/2008, -0/+4You just wanted to get buried didn't you? The internet loves Kevin Smith.
- dougerdo, on 07/18/2008, -6/+7Kevin Smith rules. Man wake up. He is trully becoming a better director. He is also an active comic book reader.
- marx2k, on 07/18/2008, -12/+4Why would I want to hear movie reviews by a guy who has made a series of movies that has gone from great (Clerks) progressively to awful (Clerks 2)
- cawpin, on 07/18/2008, -2/+10Clerks 2 wasn't as good as the original but it was far from awful.
- marx2k, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3People digging me down don't want to let the legend of Kevin Smith die... but seriously...everything he's come out with as of late has been awful.
- erad222, on 07/18/2008, -2/+1Stop trying to present your opinions as fact. I LOVED both Clerks and Clerks II.
- dmark77, on 07/18/2008, -3/+4I was at Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash last week, and bought me up some Green Arrow #1 :)
Walt Flannigan! - evo8ftw, on 07/18/2008, -11/+5Wait who cares?
- gcnaddict, on 07/18/2008, -0/+18I saw this movie during a midnight showing I booked two weeks in advance. After having seen it, there's only one pair of words able to describe how good it is:
Holy *****. - antiorblkflag9, on 07/18/2008, -0/+9IT WAS AMAZING
- SadFlask, on 07/18/2008, -11/+6Why would I ever care what Kevin Smith thinks?
- scratched, on 07/18/2008, -1/+7Because he's an entertaining person.
Seriously, listen to him in interviews or watch "An Evening with Kevin Smith" (tons of clips of it are on YouTube, you don't have to buy, rent, or download it)
He's a funny guy, and what he has to say about things is usually really interesting. - nicheplayer, on 07/18/2008, -1/+1Agreed. I've seen all the stuff scratched mentioned, and I'm unimpressed. I'm far more interested in what someone like Jack Nicholson has to say about the film, if he ever gets around to seeing it.
- keithnoir, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1He is a director so he knows what it takes to make a film...
He's also an avid comic book lover, and the perfect person to review a film like this.
- keithnoir, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1He is a director so he knows what it takes to make a film...
- scratched, on 07/18/2008, -1/+7Because he's an entertaining person.
- Defuser, on 07/18/2008, -11/+2For hell's sake, ENOUGH with the friggin' Batman threads already. Yeah, we get it, you're all a-quiver with Fanboy excitement. Great, it's out, now SHUT THE HELL UP.
- notoneofus, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6Here's a staggeringly new idea: don't read threads you don't care about.
- ortucis, on 07/18/2008, -12/+1Who is Kevin Smith?
(seriously.. I don't care enough to search so someone should tell me who he is)- notoneofus, on 07/18/2008, -1/+7Googling Kevin Smith would have taken half as much time as posting your comment.
- ortucis, on 07/18/2008, -2/+1Not really. It took me less than 4 seconds to post that.
- ortucis, on 07/18/2008, -2/+1So? Is he someone important?
- notoneofus, on 07/18/2008, -1/+7Googling Kevin Smith would have taken half as much time as posting your comment.
- solesoul, on 07/18/2008, -0/+24I had to be convinced to go to the midnight showing, mainly because I heard about the long runtime and didnt want to be tired throughout the movie.
How the ***** could anybody be tired through THAT movie? - Midtowner, on 07/18/2008, -11/+1Buried -- bat spam.
- Gigabein12, on 07/18/2008, -2/+0This guy has way too much access to the Discovery Channel.
- tripledjr, on 07/18/2008, -11/+2It was alright, I mean it was good, just not what it could of been.
- jkr801, on 07/18/2008, -2/+7I hate you
- tripledjr, on 07/18/2008, -3/+1Your mother quiffs on you while you sleep.
- jkr801, on 07/18/2008, -2/+7I hate you

- WallnutBoy, on 07/18/2008, -2/+3uh.. Boo boo kitty *****?
- Tykin3, on 07/18/2008, -0/+4On Monday night? Well, at least that insures that the entire nerd audience will have seen it by then.
....I saw it at midnight last night.
....It was amazing. - keithnoir, on 07/18/2008, -1/+8"Without giving anything away, this is an epic film (and trust me: based on the sheer size and scope of the visuals and storytelling, that's not an overstatement). It's the "Godfather II" of comic book films and three times more earnest than "Batman Begins" (and *****, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didn't so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I'm not the first to suggest this, but he'll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. ***** flick's nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I can't imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece." - Keith Smith [From his myspace blog]
- welliwonder, on 07/18/2008, -6/+7buried, why should I care
- jenel, on 07/18/2008, -1/+12***** IT, HE'LL DO IT LIVE!
- Aquabat, on 07/18/2008, -1/+1heart the slashfilm cast. I'm th1nk in the chat room.
- psbpv3o, on 07/18/2008, -0/+8Dark Knight was just...too much.
Nolan, anyone, won't be able to top this movie.. Just ***** brilliant.- IMDPanda, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1Yes, it was an amazing film and could be hard to top, but who knows? He could have room for aggressive expansion.
- Socratores, on 07/18/2008, -3/+5Kevin Smith....who cares???
- Jaymoon, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2Why would anyone want to hear a review of a movie from Kevin Smith that they've already seen (multiple times probably)?
Is anyone really going to be on the fence about seeing the movie, hear Kevin Smith's review, and base their decision on that? - KMartSheriff, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3I'm sure I'll get buried for this but I don't understand the following behind Kevin Smith. I mean he's done Clerks, that's about it. What makes him so great?
- zornedge, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2Exactly... Kevin Smith Who? He may do a review and do the public service a good favor, but in the end, he's is a someone that I doubt I would even care to know.
- Jaymoon, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2Why would anyone want to hear a review of a movie from Kevin Smith that they've already seen (multiple times probably)?
- antiz3r0, on 07/18/2008, -1/+2Hands down The Dark Knight was THE BEST movie. Heath as the Joker was... GOD LIKE! They will never be able to top that movie ever! It was a work of pure genius!
- 1ofMany, on 07/18/2008, -2/+2Kevin smith reads comics, big deal-- so do thousands of other people whose opinions I'd actually respect. Let's compare The Dark Knight to Mallrats, then tell me why I should care what Kevin Smith thinks.
- petebot, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1Gee, I wonder if he'll like it. Come on!
I bet the review consists of him spanking it while watching the movie.
PS. Mallrats is my fave kevin smith movie. - KunoJ, on 07/18/2008, -3/+2*assumes South Park Reporter voice*
People asked in a survey if they cared or not about Kevin Smith reviewing Dark Knight,

2. Kevin Smith
