- mnjordan, on 08/16/2008, -6/+151I like Kevin Smith, and I like most of his movies. I'm also looking forward to seeing Watchmen. All that said, the dude totally freaked out over Star Wars Epi. III.

So, unless you thought Epi III was "quite simply, ***** awesome" - I'd take this with a grain of salt. Just saying..... - inactive, on 08/16/2008, -5/+141Hey baby, ever have your ***** licked by a fat guy in an overcoat?
- btschul, on 08/16/2008, -0/+72Sorry, I can't. I'm not even supposed to be here today.
- Chainheart, on 08/16/2008, -0/+62Do yourself a favor and read it first
- corvine, on 08/15/2008, -4/+63Im such a movie buff, thanks for popping this up. I have been hoping to see more info on the watchmen.
Kevin smith should be a good indication of how good it will do. - kalv, on 08/15/2008, -3/+46The trailers tripped me out.
- S4MF1SHER, on 08/16/2008, -0/+36Obviously you two aren't fans Kevin Smith's movies.
- happyfundave, on 08/15/2008, -2/+33I cannot wait for this movie, the more i hear the more faith I have in its ability to blow our minds
Even my girlfriend leaned over and said it looked cool after seeing the trailer before TDK. - cyhunter, on 08/16/2008, -0/+29Well, for one thing, the effects, etc. would not be done by this point. Secondly, studios pick specific opening weekends strategically (i.e. taking into consideration what other kinds of movies it will be opening against, which demographics are most likely to attend at any given time---thus you have the "summer blockbusters", and the late-year "Oscar season").
- Cenobite, on 08/16/2008, -4/+32Compared to Episodes I and II, III was a gorram masterpiece.
I think it's quite enjoyable if you go into it expecting the mood and tone of the original trilogy, EXCEPT the brain-meltingly bad chemistry and dialog between Anakin and Padme. - btschul, on 08/16/2008, -0/+26Have you seen any of his movies?
- UserNull, on 08/16/2008, -1/+22If the movie is complete then what else do they have to do that prevents it from being released earlier?
Not whining, just curious. - btschul, on 08/16/2008, -3/+24He also made clerks, mallrats, Jay and Silent bob strike back. Don't judge him on one ***** movie. Anyway, Jersey Girl had Liv Tyler talking about how much she masturbates, so It can't be that bad.
- imakecomments, on 08/16/2008, -2/+21While you're waiting, try this: http://www.d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y.com/
- OSXpert, on 08/16/2008, -3/+20Kevin Smith also raved about how ridiculously amazing Star Wars Episode III was before it came out. he said it was so good that it made up for the other 2 prequels. It was certainly the best of the 3 prequels, but he sometimes overhypes some of these things he sees early. I'm hoping for Watchmen to be great, but I'm not getting my hopes up just based on this.
- Muncher, on 08/15/2008, -0/+15What?
- crowbar77, on 08/16/2008, -2/+17He said the same about Daredevil...
- Hypermarkalan, on 08/16/2008, -1/+15Damn, youse a rude *****........but you're cute as hell, though. I'd like go down on you, suck you, then line up three other guys and make like a circus seal!
- MasterTroll, on 08/16/2008, -0/+14dugg for grandma's boy
- innocentsinner, on 08/16/2008, -9/+22Epi III was, quite simply, *****.
For every supposedly 'dark' and 'deep' scene, there was a battle droid saying "ouch". - t3hmyth, on 08/16/2008, -0/+13Yes.
- Cruelapollo, on 08/16/2008, -0/+12It was from Jay and SIlent Bob Strike Back.
- btschul, on 08/16/2008, -1/+13Why?
- birch25, on 08/16/2008, -5/+16while i have great faith in zach snyder and i think kevin smith is a talented (and hilarious) guy, he also gave pretty rave reviews to star wars episode 3 when he saw that early too and i would not call that a good movie.
- OpaqueMurdock, on 08/16/2008, -0/+11Anyone and everyone interested in this film SHOULD read the original work first IMO. But if you want to be a freak... don't read the paragraph below, you may consider it a small spoiler.
I assume you meant to type "Was I the only one that thought this film looked ***** creepy?"...
Its supposed to, it was a very dark and twisted series of comics dealing with some heavy topics... Like acquaintances suddenly coming together at the time of their death and realizing they have been more important to each other than they knew, so much that the older man tries to shield the teenage boy who has always treated him with distain from a city wide explosion with his own body... Yeah... its supposed to be "creepy" and disturbing. If they had made the movie any less so they would have failed. - fluxion, on 08/16/2008, -0/+11ouch...
- darkinfero, on 08/16/2008, -2/+12lets see i will sign a NDA just to watch now
- xkingADROCKx, on 08/16/2008, -0/+10Trailers? I thought there was only one?
- btschul, on 08/16/2008, -0/+9Blasphemy.
- JoshuaLowe, on 08/16/2008, -1/+10Kevin Smith is turning into Harry Knowles 2.0
- Cenobite, on 08/16/2008, -2/+11Best keep that to yourself 'round these here parts, cowboy.
- georgemason01, on 08/16/2008, -0/+9Smoking weed, drinking beers, drinking beers beers beers, rollin fatties, smokin blunts, who smokes the blunts, we smoke the blunts.
- rcomegys, on 08/16/2008, -0/+8In answer to your honest request, I offer the fact that Kevin Smith, aside from his movies which you may or may not like, knows a lot about both comic books and about movies. So his opinion on this *particularly* highly-anticipated comic-adapation is incredibly important.
- EvilJelloMan, on 08/16/2008, -0/+8"Empire" had the better ending. Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader is his father, Han gets frozen, taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.
- inactive, on 08/16/2008, -0/+8You're on a good path in life...
- kyle212, on 08/16/2008, -1/+9BLASPHEMY?! THIS IS... oh wait he says blasphemy before madness.
The world can carry on - haterofps3, on 08/16/2008, -1/+8God I am starting to hate /film as everything Smith says they parrot.

dear god. - bradpurchase, on 08/16/2008, -2/+9***** NDA!
- mr_wej, on 08/16/2008, -0/+7It's a final editing issue, the interest on those tens of millions of dollars adds up too quickly for anyone to just sit on a finished, large budget movie for 8 months. The strategic opening is picked well in advance and the movie production is timed accordingly.
- inactive, on 08/16/2008, -0/+7Maybe his girlfriend is not into the genre and thought it looked good?
- iChainsaw, on 08/16/2008, -0/+6***** THE NDAA!!!!
- MrSweets, on 08/16/2008, -4/+10He also admitted that it was a movie that he "was genetically predisposed to love". While being a fantastic filmmaker, any hope that he could offer an unbiased review about a sci-fi or comic flick sorta disappeared with that sentence. Grain. Of. Salt.
- JacksonDane, on 08/16/2008, -4/+10It's hard to approve when I know Alan Moore doesn't
- thailand1972, on 08/16/2008, -0/+6It doesn't mean he's talking about ALL chicks when talking about his girlfriend.
- landosystem, on 08/16/2008, -0/+6Has anyone here listened to his podcast? He has admitted he is the worst movie critic in the world, due to the fact that he loves nearly every movie he sees. Basically his positive review means the movie will be somewhere between Police Academy 7 and The Dark Knight. Calm your jets people.
- oneoverzero, on 08/16/2008, -0/+6dugg for gorram.
- SirBruce, on 08/16/2008, -0/+6How can you guys leave out Chasing Amy, probably his best film?
- ch1ck3n3, on 08/16/2008, -0/+5Kevin Smith watches the watchmen.
- btschul, on 08/16/2008, -2/+7Ew, you ***** *****. I hate guys! I love women!
