- unlimitedorb, on 10/12/2007, -15/+51I thought his last movie was going to be "Fearless"...
- birdadderley, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Nope, apparently mummies can do ninja attacks now. Maybe Anuk-Sun-Amun can be Lucy Liu?
- deivys, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15No I dont think so. I saw him on an interview and he says that he will retire from martial arts movies but he would like to do experiment with other movies genres
- LucerinRed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24yeah, all the interviews said it was his last EPIC martial arts film, which I took as films like Hero and Fearless.
- wcasey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+33I dont understand how "is in negotiations" translates to "is the mummy". Digg needs to ban users who use misleading titles like this.
- solemnraven, on 10/12/2007, -15/+9Jackie Chan could kick his ass anyway,
Drunken master FTPwn - ilyag, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Brendan Fraser gotta eat!
- wild, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15His last historic martial arts flick. Not his last movie.
- Aneurhythmia, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1"Digg needs to ban users who use misleading titles like this."
Ban for inaccuracy? Isn't that what burying is for? - TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3Jackie Chan is a million times better than Jet Li. At least Chan's movies feature creative/humorous yet believeable choreography, all of Jet Li's movies feature guys flying all over the screen on suspension cables.
- wushu18t, on 10/12/2007, -2/+33"Jackie Chan could kick his ass anyway"
i don't think so. jackie (trained in chinese opera) vs. jet li (trained in wushu competitions & 5 time concurrent chinese national wushu champion, which nobody else has surpassed), jet li would kick jackie's ass. anyways...they make good action flicks. - bwilstyle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Fearless was his last movie about the WuShu fighting style. Get your facts straight.
- Wisgary, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6How is brendan frasier going to win then? It's impossible
- phylo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2@wushu18t of course someone with the name of wushu19t is going to be biased.
I personally like both stars but to take away from ones training because of the school they went to, come on.
Also all of Jet Li's wushu championships were all form based and not sparring/fighting based.

Easy, he'll put aside the bullwhip and pull out a pistol.
<sarcasm>Wonder if there will be a Dragon King in this one if the Rock isn't available.</sarcasm> - marshallhendrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@unlimitedorb
he only retired from acting in 'epic' chinese movies like hero, etc - aplardi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3ignore this, digg it down, and digg up marshallhendrix.
- spiritamx79, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Jackie Chan could kick his ass anyway"
Chuck Norris FTW!! - Silencer7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1if Mel Gibson and Danny Glover can beat Jet Li in movie-land (despite my Chinese friends rooting against them!), I think Brendan Fraser will probably pull it off too.
- ajb2015, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Asian mummies? I wonder how that will fit into a story set in Egypt.
- crimsonalucard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0wushu is more a form of dancing. Those moves would be suicide in a real fight.
- jeffreym, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Jet really wanted to work with Blendan Flaser.
- acidONice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16That was going to be his last martial arts epic or whatever.
- spoiled1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Well if they're going to shoot the film in China, their mummy better look like a chinese!
- Nudar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well there have actually been ancient remains found of White people in China. I saw it on Discovery Channel once. Can anyone help me find the reference?
- Asianwaste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yea, Richard Nixon visited there once.
- Nudar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The Tocharians is the group I was referring to. See wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tocharians
- pickypg, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7And they just ruined the Mummy series. Who wants to guess if the Mummy won't be doing martial arts? If he does, then the movie is going to be awful.
- raynar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I thought the Scorpion King ruined it...
- J4320, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8You can almost assume that the Mummy will be doing martial arts. I like Jet Li and all, but he isn't THAT great of an actor (in the English language anyway). He'll be in this for his martial arts skillz. I guess I'll remain somewhat optimistic about this movie since I do kind of like Jet Li.
- LiquidChimera, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12I thought the first one ruined it
- McTendo, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2No, martial arts will only make it better.
He needs to be a ninja mummy to fight the robot space pirates. It will be the ultimate battle and will lay to rest the whole "ninjas vs pirates" debate once and for all. - displaynone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11is Brendan Fraser going to find out he belongs to a clan of ninja mummies
- TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Who says the mummy has to do martial arts
Jet Li is a fine actor and doesn't need theatrics to back him up - Asianwaste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wouldn't doubt the Mummy series is trying to do a hierarchy of spin off series. Much like how the Egyptian mummy movies had Scorpion King, the Chinese mummy movies might have something like "the Dragon Emperor" with his own spin off movie. Then if somehow people still pay money for this, they'll make a 3rd series set in another culture with famous ancestries. It'll all sum up to a giant story line that can be franchised into toys, novelizations, graphic novelizations, mugs, and of course a TV series. (oh wait the mummy already did have all of the above.)
- DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4There are mummies in China?
- savedyankees, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Yes, there are.
- bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Jet Li as a Chinese milf. Now thats just a horrible casting idea
- frodsteamin2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12those hot girls fighting almost naked in the temple of mummy 2, i think, yeah that was worth the horrible acting
- mcflynnthm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I loved the Mummy. I thought the Mummy Returns had its moments. This... It makes my heart hurt :'(
- warmonger48, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I thought the mummy would be computer generated....like in the other two movies /sarcasm/
- kirakun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Kung-fu fighting mummy!
- Wildthing, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5They originally offered the role to Chuck Norris who then roundhouse kicked everyone in the face after hearing that a mummy is a person who died. Chuck Norris can never die.
- Pottersquash, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3a Chuck Norris joke? really? wow, I thought the Mountain Dew commericals killed those, nice to know your keeping them alive.
- OUberLord, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1You apparently don't play WoW :P
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34Headline: Jet Li is the Mummy in The Mummy 3
First line of summary: Jet Li is in negotiations to play the mummy
One of these things is not like the other... - unabonger, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Arent mummy's all wrapped in bandages and lumbering slow moving things??? Kind of the opposite of a martial arts star...
- bartleby, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Old news that I am sure was on the front page of Digg months ago, just can't seem to find it.
- ehansen24, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2That's going to be one short-ass mummy. How scary would it be to have a 5-foot mummy walking towards your?
- masterkenobi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+105'6" and a half. And if it were a pissed off, undead Jet Li that wanted to kick my ass, I'd be scared.
- VastAwakening, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Here we go with the short Asian jokes again. The tallest natural grown human (no giantism) is Chinese at 7'9"...
http://www.sentientmind.com/orientalis/?p=183 he's 7'0"
http://www.sentientmind.com/orientalis/?p=86 he's 6'5"
- KissTheRing, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Man I can't believe they are making a third mummy movie, I can't stand anything Brendan Fraser is in, he's such a tool.
- calvmari, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Don't watch it >.>
More popcorn for me!

- inurb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Aren't mummies supposed to be slow and bumbling?
- JonnyK, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Shouldn't mummies be in Africa, and shouldn't a mummy be a black guy probably?
- rnwen2750, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3... Mummies are found across the globe as they were made in several cultures. Not just Africa.
- bwilstyle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Is your mummy a black guy?
- texpundit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Shouldn't mummies be in Africa, and shouldn't a mummy be a black guy probably?"
AFAIK, the oldest known mummy is actually South/Latin American. Mummies were prevalent is many ancient cultures. It's just that the most well known ones are Egyptian. - Nudar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Not to mention the fact that Egyptians were not black so of course there would be no black mummies.
- rages4calm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1heh "Will Jet Li kick Brendan Fraser in the face with one of those patented over-his-own-shoulder kicks?" And the answer is, as always: "It depends on how hard you pray."
- Daolohua, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when this was pitched (hint, there was cocaine involved):
"Ok, so you know how awesome the mummy was when he was all corpsified and had magic powers, right? Now imagine if he was also a frickin' ninja!"- jpop, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1a frickin' ninja, with frickin' lasers on his head!
- estacado, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Rachel Weisz! Nuff said.

what is a screener
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screener - mranissimov, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3What the ***** is "popcorn action-adventure"? Some ***** film journalist lingo?
- cryptic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1took the words right out of my mouth.
- rnwen2750, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I take that to mean that the storyline itself is not emotionally engaging. That is, you can just sit back and watch the movie, but at a surface level. This is opposed to an action-adventure that grips you emotionally or otherwise and forces you to interact much more tightly with it.
- frontpage, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1When I see Mommy I Feel Like a Mummy
- xmod3, on 10/12/2007, -9/+0
I'm glad more Japanese actors are being allowed to act in American films. Diversity is nice, really nice...- Nudar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Except Jet Li is Chinese.
- dombrowski, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0And you thought he was retiring...His career is just getting started!
- antifreze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It makes sense. He wants to pursue a bigger acting career and less of a martial arts career (since he pretty much mastered that). I think we should give him a chance. This will allow him to star in a role that won't require too much talking if any. I believe this is good for him, seeing how his movies as of lately have been getting stale.
- TxDr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@antifreze "his movies as of lately have been getting stale."
Did we watch the same Hero and Fearless? Because the movies I saw were nothing near stale.
- TxDr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@antifreze "his movies as of lately have been getting stale."
- zybler, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Mummy that knows kung fu? Yummy...
- Neffi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I loveee the Mummy movies...been in Egypt twice and visit the big museum...I've seen them..amazing!!!!!!
anyway, I don't know why ppl criticize a movie without seeing it first?
Wait t'il you see the preview, enjoy it or not!!!...taste are subjective !
