- neoform, on 10/12/2007, -1/+36Talk about misleading, there was like 2 extra split-second scenes added. woopedy ***** doo, quit making it seem like there's an extra 5 minutes of footage.

- Katarn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Not only that, it's missing a small scene of Optimus transforming! Too bad, Japan missed out on the best part.
- zeroomegazx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10This Movie is to TRANSFORMERS as KFC is to CHICKEN
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Michael Bay isn't a great director but he's a solid director for this type of movie. With Michael Bay, you know what you're getting. You're not going to get "The Departed" or even "Lord of the Rings" but you will get a solid 5 or 6 out of 10 movie with great special effects and high quality production values. ( Judging from my own experience and from the list of movies he's directed as found on IMDB )
IMDB ratings are an excellent method of judging a film's quality, in my opinion and his movies are actually rated pretty good, overall. Not Scorsese good, but good. The Island got a 6.9, The Rock got a 7.1 and both Bad Boys films got over a 6.0. That's pretty damn good, imo, for action movies. "Crash" Got an 8.1 for reference.
And btw, I am a HUGE Transformers fan and a film enthusiast. So yes, Michael Bay can annoy the hell out of me too but give credit where credit is due.
Michael Bay's filmography: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000881/ - buddywong, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7True dat. 1/2 a second does not equal new scenes.
- johnham, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6If Michael Bay is box office poison why do people pay him tons of money to make all these big-budget films.
I think Michael Bay sucks, but he's not box office poison in any sense of the term.
I am telling myself over and over again that this movie will suck but my love of explosions and robots overpowers my brain every time I see one of these new trailers, resulting in a 6.7 magnitude earthquake in my pants. - Raian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think Azamat Bagatov would probably do a better job at directing any movie than Michael "brain-dead movie" Bay.
- SpacemanSpiff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Michael Bay makes great popcorn movies. I watch his movies on DVD several times just to get the thrill of the action."
Agreed, 'Playboy Video Centerfold: Kerri Kendall' never gets old. - radix33, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10Michael Bay makes great popcorn movies. I watch his movies on DVD several times just to get the thrill of the action.
You won't find me watching American Beauty for the 200th times on DVD. - Dracos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hardly anything new in the JP trailer, which means little more proof that this movie will suck golf balls through garden hose.
I'm becoming convinced that the only people who want to see this movie were too young to appreciate the original cartoons in the 80's.
I can deal with Spielberg, be has talent. Bay only knows how to do one thing: how to film explosions, and he's not even very good at that. - Loudigi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The youtube version sucks. I say see the american version at the above link or see the HD version in french at http://video.vividas.com/CDN1/5029_paramount/fr/web/
- ulcards2033, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3So are the transformers intelligent or did he turn them into big dumb robot animals?
- CapnObvious, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5unfortunatly, it's his own ass that he kicks repeatedly.
so much hope and potential for this movie, but I keep telling myself it's going to be utter crap so if it is, I won't be disapointed and if it is great, I'll be suprised and happy. - mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Watch the movie before making comments ok?
Now did you watch the movie yet?
No right?
SO SIT DOWN AND SHUTTUP! - ProfessorRiffs, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7Wrong.
- guytoronto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Like dinosaurs?
- Arkonnan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Aside from the commentary at the beginning, subtitles and a few tiny additions(the bumblebee scene without the mask), this is the same trailer that was released in the US last month.
http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/transformers_hd.html - HolyJaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hahahahahahaha
Spielberg and Bay are so white, it's almost cute how they talk in Japanese. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looks like he has the same horrible kid actor from War of the Worlds in it too. That girl should have been toasted by the aliens.
- Arkonnan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You have 50 foot tall robots walking around and shooting lasers out of their arms and you're nit-picking about bouncing tanks?
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that you're going to have to suspend disbelief in order to enjoy this movie. If you're going to complain about the little things while completely overlooking the obvious problems, you've already convinced yourself that you hate this movie and you'll find any excuse to fulfill that prophecy. - ulcards2033, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That is the question.
- jer.williams, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Spielberg's production work has never been on the same quality level as his directed stuff. Batteries Not Included?
- sanman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I really hope the ending credits of the movie don't feature a gangsta-rap version of the original Transformers theme song. That would be too cliche -- but all too likely, I'm afraid.
- RICEETR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice link, ass
- shifty2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i like how they kept the original font and design of the word "transformer" in Katakana. brings back memories of my childhood in Japan *sobs*
- Namco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The test footage must've been freaking awesome.
- guytoronto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How do you know, seeing how the movie is still half a year away?
- CyborgX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yahoo movies is showing the same trailer and even better cuz they have the HD version!
- iBlinkalot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Tools? no, I think it is great that they at least made a bit of effort with the language, albeit terrible.
- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm a big fan of rotten tomatoes. Or just pirating the movie and deciding for myself. I mean....netflix.
- mikeuram, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can not wait for this movie. The transformers look too intricate for me. I just want to hear Starscream complain, and megatron whoop him.
- ascalonx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Or we will kill you." Wow, the dialog in this movie is fantastic!
- jerky808, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0transformers from the 80's WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I sure wish 2 different directors were involved in this...
Bouncing tanks... come on... 50 tons of metal hitting pavement...
Might be over the top in LAME action. - princej3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Or you could see it direct at http://www.transformers-movie.jp/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I realize that it sounds like I did say that The Departed is better than LotR but I didn't mean for it to sound that way.
And please, if you know of a better system than IMDB for ratings, let me know and I will thank you. - HolyJaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The license for the film granted only the idea that robots transform into... other *****.
It explicitly prohibited the film makers from using any of the original transformers designs and names...
So of course Speilbergs gonna ***** it up. - astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The subtitles in Japanese, were probably saying "'these two will screw up this movie for sure!"
Yeah at first it was interesting to see how a live action movie would be made of the Transformers, now after seeing
what was done to them, I'll wait for it to be on the local 'Late Night Movie' instead of wasting $10 to go see it.
If they would have stuck to the original G1 design, then it would have been worth it. Now they have ol' good ol' Megatron looking like some orange juicer. Spielberg should have hired some of the independent artists
who made some of these small CGI Transformers videos (break dancing Nissan Jeep, etc) and hired them
to make the bots look better for their silver screen appearance. - coreywit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0MISLEADING DESCRIPTION- this is an ABBREVIATED trailer (MISSING Bumblebee and Prime!) preceded by a Spielburg & Bay greeting. Not worth anyone's time if they've already seen the REAL "full" trailer
- Nowheredan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2How can Spielberg keep his sterling reputation when he puts his name on crap like this?
- btgoss, on 10/12/2007, -9/+8I agree... this movie is going to make Battlefield Earth look like GoodFellas...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The trailer has lame shots that are already in other movies... like any other Spielberg Tom Cruise "action" movie.
- batfan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Who would you guys rather have direct!? Maybe Bryan Singer, then he
would've made the robots gay just like he did to Superman!! Raimi's
busy with Spider-man and the upcoming Shadow movie and Spielberg
is only executive producer on this film. His influence is gonna treat the robots
much like how he utilized the dinos in his Jurassic Park trilogy.
Maybe we'll see the closeup of someones drink and see the vibrations
of the robots coming near. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1and I love KFC
- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Did you just say the departed is better than LotR? I will now digg you down sir, good day.
Haha and saying IMDB ratings are a good judge. Well that's just the stupidest thing I've heard today. - Kosminski, on 10/12/2007, -15/+9Meh... this movie is going to suck. Michael Bay is box office poison!
- deckardrun, on 10/12/2007, -14/+7Are you kidding me? Michael Bay kicks-ass!!
