- stuartnow, on 06/24/2009, -1/+50I have always found his movies to be interesting. Unlike other action directors, he actually has character development.
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -4/+48AVATAR ***** YOUR EYEBALLS IN 2010
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -4/+42I got a bad feeling about this.
- pe5t1lence, on 06/24/2009, -0/+34Will someone PLEASE tell me what the hell this movie is about? All I hear is how awesome it will be, does anyone even know if there is a plot?
- sulthernao, on 06/25/2009, -0/+33"Avatar is set during the 22nd century on a small moon called Pandora, which orbits a gas giant, and is inhabited by the tribal Na'vi, ten foot blue humanoids that are peaceful unless attacked. Humans cannot breathe Pandoran air, so they genetically engineer human/Na'vi hybrids known as Avatars that can be controlled via a mental link. A paralyzed Marine named Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) volunteers to exist as an Avatar on Pandora, falling in love with a Na'vi princess and becoming caught up in the conflict between her people and the human military that is consuming their world.[3]"

- taintedzodiac, on 06/24/2009, -7/+31I still keep thinking, "Oh good, more news about Avatar: The Last Airbender." Then I am disappointed.
- taintedzodiac, on 06/24/2009, -0/+24M. Night Shyamalan is working on it, but they had to drop the Avatar from the title because of this movie. It's just called, "The Last Airbender."
- diulei, on 06/25/2009, -1/+21Uh, how about Terminator 1, Terminator 2, and Aliens James Cameron also?
- inactive, on 06/25/2009, -0/+18you really want to compare Zack Snyder, the guy that did 300, to James Cameron, who did Aliens and Terminator 1 and 2 as well as Titanic?
- coondog35, on 06/25/2009, -0/+18I am craving revolutionary sci fi.
- ltethe, on 06/24/2009, -3/+18Um... Someone help me... Isn't Avatar the movie based off Avatar: The Last Airbender?
Sorry, don't watch TV... So confused. - JoeHague, on 06/25/2009, -0/+15yeah,yeah but you got say like you're scared, like
I got a baaaad feeling about this/ - TBickle77, on 06/25/2009, -1/+16I wonder if this is going to break the $116 million opening weekend record Cameron set with Aquaman starring Vinnie Chase.
- tebes, on 06/24/2009, -4/+18Give it to Cameron, if there's one thing he's consistently done, it's push the technical boundaries of filmmaking. While many cinematographers and filmmakers cling to comfortable old methods, or jump on fad-wagons, Cameron is really, genuinely interested in the technology of filmmaking, and how it can progress.
He's said that he "doesn't know" if this movie will be great or terrible (half a decade on a single movie will do that to you) but he knows it will be spectacular, and promises you'll see something you've never seen before.
Expect long lines in the cold this Christmas... - Stoyanov, on 06/25/2009, -0/+14Two thousand and nine.
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -0/+12No.
M. Night Shyamalan's movie "The Last Airbender" is what you're thinking of. Coming out in 2010. - inactive, on 06/25/2009, -0/+12Are you nuts? Have you seen The Abyss or Terminator 1 & 2? Or Aliens?
- shlebede, on 06/24/2009, -0/+12The trailer came out with Transformers 2:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvLUrF3ItGQ - badwithcomputer, on 06/24/2009, -0/+12honestly, don't worry about it. the less you know about this film/the less you see in previews or commercials the better.
jumping jesus christ i can't wait for avatar. anyone who sees that movie NOT in 3-d is an idiot. - MaxMWood, on 06/25/2009, -0/+12I NEED a trailer for this film.
- anduril66, on 06/24/2009, -1/+13Good article, but wierd comment about 1644 years - must have thousands of computers rendering,
- Frankyfan3, on 06/24/2009, -0/+12Ah, man... I was all excited as well.
Isn't someone working on an Avatar : The Last Airbender Movie? - sydouglas, on 06/25/2009, -1/+12"Dances with Wolves" in outer space
- inactive, on 06/25/2009, -0/+10No. Here's the difference between a crap movie and Titanic....
A crap movie, such as Star Wars Phantom Menace or Transformers has a messy plot, poor acting, wooden dialogue (or none, for Transformers), and is just a visual orgy.
Titanic may not be for you, and I don't like it. But it's not a crap film. The dialogue isn't terrible, minus that whole king of the world bit. The acting is good, and the plot is excellent. The visuals enhance the movie, they don't become the movie. See The Matrix vs. Matrix Revolutions and Reloaded. - TwwIX, on 06/25/2009, -0/+9Calm down, rage kiddie.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499549/ Cameron
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0938283/ Shamalamadingdong - LilRabbitFooFoo, on 06/25/2009, -1/+9It's NEVER BS when it's James Cameron. :)
- thomas040, on 06/25/2009, -0/+8When did Cameron really miss the mark?
Terminator
Aliens
Abyss
Terminator 2
True Lies
Titanic
Which one of those is a dud? Am I forgetting one? He is probably the best director alive, next after Steven Spielberg perhaps.... - wpc33, on 06/25/2009, -0/+8You'd watch this movie on youtube...?
- ltethe, on 06/25/2009, -0/+7Ohhhh....
I remember seeing a coupla seconds of "the Last Airbender" featuring magical kids...
Then I saw the Avatar mech at E3, and I couldn't for the life of me see how those two were related. - dweeb79, on 06/25/2009, -0/+7No love for The Abyss? It's a great film.
- basickly, on 06/25/2009, -0/+7Titanic was an epic movie.
Target audience was women, mature men, and people who are secure about their sexuality and can watch a good love story without fear of being regarded as a *****.
So I can see why you didn't like it. - aenilius, on 06/25/2009, -0/+7wait, it wont be ready for 1600+ years? god damned innernets.
- nofate2029, on 06/25/2009, -0/+7I've never been disappointed by a James Cameron movie before. And after 10 yrs away from Hollywood, it's good to see him back doing what he's best at: pushing CGI to the limits.
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -2/+8Were did i hear that before...
- Homest4r, on 06/25/2009, -0/+6Cameron has a pretty excellent track record, and considering he's been working on this for some time, I remain optimistic. And while I have little doubt the special effects will be mind blowing, the movie itself can very easily turn to ***** when filmmakers are distracted by said special effects (see: Any Star Wars Prequel, Any Michael Bay Movie).
- protodon, on 06/25/2009, -0/+6Meanwhile I am disappointed every time I hear news about The Last Airbender but mainly because of the director.
- goomba323, on 06/25/2009, -0/+6M. Night isn't really a bad director. Most of the complaints come from his storytelling..
- tebes, on 06/25/2009, -0/+6There isn't a detailed rundown on the plot, but there's plenty of information to make an educated guess.
Mine: Humans hungry! Lots of resources on Pandora. Pandorans are going to fight back - these creatures live in harmony with nature, while the evil humans are invading with their nature-conquering technological juggernaughts.
Sam Worthington gets caught up with the Pandorans' struggle, and fights with them against the incoming human threat. He also inhabits a Pandoran "avatar" body, as he's a crippled war vet, allowing him a deeper bond with the alien race and their culture as he takes up the war against his own race as some sort of "chosen one", or leader. - thomas040, on 06/25/2009, -0/+6Jamie Lee Curtis goes from thinking she is boring to being a kick ass potential agent, like her husband....
- merky1, on 06/25/2009, -1/+6Why does this sound like a rip off of evangelion?
- loneraver, on 06/25/2009, -0/+5at 300 million, the most expensive movie ever, I really hope it's better than that super expensive ***** cloud we've had this summer. Terminator Salvation, Transformers, ect.... We need a movie that's worthy of it's budget.
- kevro, on 06/25/2009, -3/+8It's never BS when it's James Cameron.
- kevro, on 06/25/2009, -0/+5To all the nay Sayers out there just remember to have change for laundry because I have a felling when you finally see this your gonna ***** your pants.
- nopow, on 06/25/2009, -0/+5True Lies has more character development than any of them, and is one of the most underrated movies of the 90's. The first act lasts for the entire first half of the movie. Only after that does the action start.
- borez, on 06/25/2009, -0/+5@plasticfrakture: Just give in mate, you can't win after you've just failed.
- hpodity, on 06/25/2009, -0/+5don't jinx it! Everyone pretend this movie isn't even coming out and then just wander into the theatre "by accident"
- Stoyanov, on 06/24/2009, -1/+6I would kill to flash forward to Oct 2nd for the Shutter Island premiere and then to Dec 18th for Avatar. The impact of this movie will be even bigger than that of The Dark Knight. I can't believe that the average moviegoer does not even know about it at the moment.
- Manchildcartoon, on 06/25/2009, -0/+4You sir, are an idiot.
