- ghaltmann, on 11/30/2007, -5/+11Mark my words: Avatar will blow your ***** mind. It's being shot in all 3D and for ***** sake it's James Cameron, since when has the guy let us down? He doesn't suffer from Lucas syndrome so cut him some slack.

- damndj, on 11/30/2007, -0/+4It reminds me of the aliens under the sea in The Abyss.

- noloveIII, on 11/30/2007, -1/+3Dark Angel had a great first season
- jjustin01, on 11/30/2007, -0/+2Wasn't Titanic the prequel to The Abyss?
- duffblue, on 11/30/2007, -0/+2word
- Chakat, on 11/30/2007, -1/+3Well, considering part of the plot elements is that the protagonist falls in love with one of the aliens, I imagine straying too far from a humanoid form could squick too much of the moviegoing populace. Someone falling in love with a centauroid alien, for example, is probably a bit too beyond the range of normal for a good portion of the populace. If you saw the remake (or probably the original) of planet of the apes in the theatre, you'd know how people react to a simple human on nonhuman kiss.
Then again, some of us welcome our vaguely felinoid, purple latexish-skinned, alien overlords...at least soon...after we adjust ourselves real quick here... - gossipninja, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1gigers alien was so ***** good, I like how it was designed with reference to how an alien like that would actually evolve. I did however, think giger was whoring the alien art out a bit, then i saw some non-alien stuff, frankly i didnt much care for the juvenile sex-scapes.

I guess I must be the only one that read the scriptment.... - ranthony, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1http://ranthonysteele.blogspot.com/2008/04/scifi-o ...
James Cameron is responsible for tripe like Piranha 2 as well as great cutting edge films like The Abyss. I've seen 99% of it, and I've watched a good part of it just because his name was on it. I think I'll be approaching this film with the same cautious air that I've learned from experience yields the best outcome for me; whether it's a new group with a new idea, or someone I know producing a sequel to something I love (J.J. Abrams and ST XI for example)
It's a SciFi film, so I'm going to see it at some point. Will it be good? Won't know that until I've sat through it. See you in December of 2009. - jjustin01, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1I was kind of hoping it was news about a live-action movie based on the animated series (The Last Air Bender that is).
- TSCheredar, on 12/03/2007, -0/+1Still want to see his version of spider-man...
- Kenzan, on 11/30/2007, -1/+2Oh gee, they look like humans.
How original.
Dugg @mancat for being the first to say it. - mailbox01, on 11/30/2007, -0/+0Reminds me of the creatures in The Abyss
- Animental, on 11/30/2007, -4/+4WEA EES SARAH CONNAH?!
- Asianwaste, on 11/30/2007, -1/+1Anyone else completely forget about this movie and thought the headline was talking about his forum avatar?
- buildmorerobots, on 11/30/2007, -1/+1many changes
- Quijada, on 11/30/2007, -3/+0I hope these actors are concerned.... with movie budgets in the hundreds of millions of dollars the studios will want to be using these animated characters more often and soon replace the real thing.
- Tr33fiddy, on 11/30/2007, -8/+3Nope, it's about a wheelchair bound person who goes to an alien planet to help the colonising humans interact with the natives using a mind-melding technology that allows him to use a cloned native, as the planet's ecosystem tries to repel the humans then wheelchair guy falls in love with a native, repels the humans, dies and finally gets bought back to life as a real native. Film ends.
