James Bond’s ‘Quantum Of Solace’ Gets An Explosive Trailer …
moviesblog.mtv.com — The new James Bond trailer is finally here, and Bond appears to go rogue, a plotline last explored in “License to Kill” in 1989. From the 2-minute trailer, “Quantum of Solace” may seem to borrow visual elements from the “Bourne” franchise, but Bond’s motivation is very different and very dangerous: revenge.

- th4m4n, on 07/01/2008, -6/+28Daniel Craig is the *****!
- papastout, on 07/01/2008, -1/+2Not quite as debonaire as the previous bonds Then I have to stop and think, for all the physical prowess and acute sense that it takes to pull off some of the feats the Bond character does (albeit fiction) it looks as if Daniel Craig has pulled it off beautifully while showing just how much overkill has been put into casting the role over the years.
I mean, really! Could you believe Roger Moore in the role of super spy daredevil in the shadow of the ridiculously bad-ass Bond Craig has portrayed?
me neither - although Moore and Connery did justice, this one takes the prize in my book.
Bond v Jaws is hardly believable in that light. Connery's Bond v SPECTRE? yeah that's palletable... but I suppose it's all folly to compare anyway. - JettaMan, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Roger Moore wasn't worse, he was just different. He brought his own game to the table which was highly entertaining. Craig kicks butt, but kind of a bull in a China shop compared to Moore. Not as much of the suave.
- haikuFU, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1I was PISSED when they got rid of Brosnan and picked Daniel Craig. I was going to boycott 007 forever. But, my company took us all to an early showing, and I think he's right up there with Connery. The thing I do like about the new bond films is that they are more realistic, less cheesy, and somewhat dark compared to the old ones. Daniel Craig has done an awesome job.
The Bond franchise is going in a whole new direction, and it's definitely a good one.
Plus, M rocks. It will be a sad day when she's no longer in a Bond movie. Just like Q. :(

- SPThom, on 07/01/2008, -5/+2Didn't Bond go rogue (or pretend to do so) in one of the recent Brosnan flicks? I know, I know... We've tried to block them all from our memory.
- ThePwnyExpress, on 07/01/2008, -0/+6i thought brosnan and connery did the best films... at least brosnan in his first two...
- SPThom, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Yeah, Brosnan's first two were pretty good. Goldeneye, particularly, was awesome. But the later ones got pretty lame. They're so unmemorable that I can barely tell them apart.
- punkcat, on 07/01/2008, -0/+10was that the one where he has sex with the woman at the end?
- jaynemother, on 07/01/2008, -4/+1No you're thinking of all of them.

- flyn2hi, on 07/01/2008, -11/+1Been doin Bond movies since the first one "From Russia With Love".... You could say I was weened on them in a little Midwestern town theater. The Bond Man 007, Hugh Hefner, No Fags, No AIDS, just beautiful poon and growing up in the middle of corn and beans with bigger than life heroes. Butch wax, gas 25 cents a gallon, huge bag of buttered popcorn 15 cents. Look at the country now, 5 bucks a gallon, it's cool to be a Fag/Lesbian (hell, lets get married), OBAMA, Democraps spewing their media driven BS and the poor slobs out there buying it all. Moving south to the land under the Mexican Moonlight in my new 75% discounted RV. Adios America and good luck.

Vaya con Dios, hombre. When guys like you leave our country, it only improves it for everyone else. - richlizard24, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2Dr. No was the first Bond film, not From Russia With Love.
- flyn2hi, on 07/02/2008, -0/+0 It was a long time ago, yet it feels like yesterday when flashing back on the Bond file. I stand corrected.... Thank you!
- fatTJ, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1I dugg you up. I just had to. That was hilarious
- androothebear, on 07/01/2008, -6/+2can i get a HOLY *****?!?!
- punkcat, on 07/01/2008, -0/+5what was holy ***** about it?
- papastout, on 07/01/2008, -8/+3Hmmm, the BOND SUPREMACY??? I'm all for it!
- screwy3333, on 07/01/2008, -0/+18MTV get a clue.....Bourne is borrowing from Bond
- B3000, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Yeah, The Bourne Ultimatum is almost a scene for scene rip-off of Moonraker with bits of Octopussy and Die Another Day sprinkled throughout.
- gaqua, on 07/01/2008, -4/+5Looks promising. Still think the title is stupid, but the acting quality has gone up significantly, they've lost the "wink wink, nudge nudge, I thought Christmas only came once a year, hyarh hyar!" smarmyness finally. I like that it's focused more on James Bond as a kind of guy who can both take and dish out intense amounts of damage while maintaining a tenuous grasp on the thin line between patriot and psychopath.
It makes the series more interesting, and seeing him bleeding and damaged makes him more realistic. Nothing is worse than seeing a guy jump into a pile of dirt to avoid full-on machine gun fire after running 300 yards through a jungle, then in the next scene when he's captured his hair and tuxedo look perfect and he politely dabs the sweat off his forehead with a $500 kerchief.- apoc06, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1i agree.
also, i think theres something iconic about the new bond in his suit carrying the UMP. i think it works just as well as the 60s/70s/80s versions and their PPKs, and the gun barrel opening sequence.
it shows that this bond is a lot more aggressive. the added silencer still says covert agent, but oervall in the end its still an assault weapon!
- apoc06, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1i agree.
- ChrisR8089, on 07/01/2008, -1/+2I've love all the darker, more realistic reworkings of classic characters like Bond and Batman that have started coming out!
- jaynemother, on 07/01/2008, -0/+10"How long have I got?"
"30 seconds."
"Well that doesn't give us a lot of time."
Either the best or worse line in any Bond movie ever. I'm not sure which.- CosmicJustice, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2best or worst

I hate streaming internet video that looks like an 8th generation VHS tape recorded in that super long mode. Any decent rez trailers out there?- paulmer2003, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/moviefone/movies/ ...
Warning though, it's 73M. 720p obv.

- Brassbud, on 07/01/2008, -10/+2The new Bond is awful. Casino Royal was easily the worst bond I've seen. Watching people play poker is bad enough on cable TV, and the action went from clever to Mission impossible style stunts. Absolutely terrible.
- flashback99, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2you're right, but you're going to be dugg down.
- Ultra42, on 07/01/2008, -5/+0Who cares about Bond when theres Bourne
- JFallon126, on 07/02/2008, -1/+2***** yeah.
- MizuhoChan, on 07/02/2008, -2/+2Borrows from Bourne? Oh *****, it's not going to have the shaky camera is it?
Those last 2 Bourne films killed my ***** eyes with that *****. - Samo89, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1***** man! bond's gone rouge!
- LuckyEMS, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2why so serious?
- Abomonog, on 07/02/2008, -1/+4It's a Bond film and it doesn't refer to death in the title? It's trash.
- Abomonog, on 07/02/2008, -2/+2If you didn't get the above joke then you are not a true Bond fan.
- xerexes1, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Dr. No
The Man With the Golden Gun
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Thunderball
Goldfinger
I guess I missed your point. I've been a Bond fan since Dr. No and am apparently the only person here who thinks that the new reinvented Bond sucks.

- koonchu, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1AICN's signed up to sell the hell out of it whether it's good or not. Doesn't matter what we think.
- CriX, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1Great title, too.
- B3000, on 07/02/2008, -1/+2"...but Bond’s motivation is very different and very dangerous: revenge." Ummm... yeah, that was Bourne's motivation.
- apoc06, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1i thought the motivation in the movies was surviving long enough to find out who he is. =
if anything, bourne attempts several times to disappear and asks to be left alone. guess i need to watch all three again.- B3000, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Yeah, that's his motive in the first one, then they kill Marie and he's off on a revenge kick.
- apoc06, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1i thought the motivation in the movies was surviving long enough to find out who he is. =
- edwinjose, on 07/02/2008, -2/+1Bourne is the new Bond..
- Kinsbane, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1I think when they mentioned borrowing from Bourne, they meant the shooting / photography style. Which it definitely does.
