- alankem, on 05/06/2009, -4/+245Leave Deadpool alone!
- DevSingh1359, on 05/06/2009, -5/+212With 20th Century Fox at the helm, I'm not quite sure whether or not I should look forward to this...not after seeing them butcher Deadpool in "Wolverine Episode I: The Phantom Mutant".
- protogenxl, on 05/06/2009, -2/+145Will the film cover this little gem
http://www.4thletter.net/gavok/deadpool/26.jpg - Rmo4, on 05/06/2009, -14/+138Comic book fans can't grasp that people who are unfamiliar with the original works have a much easier time enjoying film adaptations. Films are made for the masses, not for a niche group of comic book readers. Ok, bury and tell me about how much Wolverine sucked.
- d0nkeym0nkey, on 05/06/2009, -3/+100A spinoff of a spinoff...
- shauntacular, on 05/06/2009, -6/+84Reynolds was probably the best part of the Wolverine movie.
- takamalak, on 05/06/2009, -1/+70I'm posting this at the top just to warn those who haven't seen Wolverine: There are some MAJOR spoilers in that article..
- louiemantia, on 05/06/2009, -10/+74I'd rather see X-Men Origins: Gambit.
- Piccolojr, on 05/06/2009, -0/+58I thought Ryan Reynolds was perfect. They did the character all wrong, though. Like they almost always do.
- 1nhuman, on 05/06/2009, -0/+58I'm torn. I know they will probably ***** this up. But I do want a Deadpool movie and I like Reynolds.
- johnnysaucepn, on 05/06/2009, -0/+40Deadpool (in the comics at least), can handle much worse than that. His healing factor is even more powerful than Wolverine's original.
Death herself rejected him. - fallout49, on 05/06/2009, -3/+37with a better actor playing gambit...ugh
- Mohammad786, on 05/06/2009, -1/+35The posters above obviously missed the scene at the end where he picks up his head!
- webgeek2point0, on 05/06/2009, -0/+34For those of you who haven't seen the movie yet, he does mention some spoliers in the Origins movie. So, beware ***SPOILER ALERT***.
- PhantomRogue, on 05/06/2009, -13/+46What you can't understand is that, you have to be true to the source material. You can't make the Miracle On Ice movie, and have the Russians win.
- kiMMey1, on 05/06/2009, -0/+32I went to see the movie expecting to see Deadpool after the credits, but there was some other, rather lame scene with Wolverine saying something and cutting to black. Man was I disappointed.
- DP84, on 05/06/2009, -0/+30How are they going to explain the removal of his adamantium claws and laser eyes? Weapon 11 sucked so bad.
I'm still being cautiously optimistic. Deadpool's awesome. - willdelaney, on 05/06/2009, -0/+30X-Men Origins: Xzibit
- dleas, on 05/06/2009, -0/+28His disfigurement is not a product of the experiment, but rather of the cancer that brought him to the experiment to begin with. His body is constantly destroying itself with the cancer, but he is able to continually regenerate, which leaves him disfigured.
- had3l, on 05/06/2009, -5/+32I'm not an avid comic book reader and I think Wolverine sucked.
Not only because the story wasn't faithful to the original material, but because the plot was crap.
Things seemed to happen randomly and everything was rushed. - thefirelane, on 05/06/2009, -8/+35The fact that you are comparing a movie interpretation of a FACTUAL, REAL event to the retelling of a COMIC BOOK in movie form should clue you in, just a tad, to the fact that you need to get out more often.
Yes... you *have* to be true to the source.... please.
They made a good stand-alone movie, not a gift for some hard-core nerds - inactive, on 05/06/2009, -0/+26I'm optimistic. Ryan has been a comic book Deadpool fan for almost a decade now, and he has said in interviews for years that he wants to do it faithfully to the comics. Combined with "It is understood that Reynolds would regain the ability to mouth off, with the movie going back to the roots of the character known for his slapstick tone and propensity to break the fourth wall." makes me think they won't ***** him up anymore.
I'm a huge comic fan but I can sort of understand why they ruined him in this one. If they left him as is he wouldn't really fit into the badass, scary, final villain type character they wanted. With him as the main character they would much prefer the original Deadpool. A mute lead is hard to write for so I don't see any possible motivation for ruining him again. - norman619, on 05/06/2009, -1/+27What you saw was the result of bad writing. You can't blame the actor for lines they are given which lack the wit we all expect from Deadpool. The writiers ruined this Wolverine movie. When will they learn to write within the established structure?
- divinediva, on 05/06/2009, -2/+28The scene showed Deadpool alive.
- Chairboy, on 05/06/2009, -1/+26Had to re-read it, was kinda hoping I had read 'Burt Reynolds'.
- waspbr, on 05/06/2009, -0/+25there is an extra scene after the credits which you probably did not see.
- TheTCal, on 05/06/2009, -0/+24Marvel Studios is attached as well. There is a God.
- RyanXmetal, on 05/06/2009, -2/+25That movie ruined Deadpool, and made Gambit look like a bitch. They seriously need to redeem themselves in the next movie.
- Zcrubby, on 05/06/2009, -0/+23I love Deadpool..
- leif777, on 05/06/2009, -1/+23There's no WAY this is going to be good. They'll fox it up somehow.
- namhoCA, on 05/06/2009, -1/+23I always pictured Death as a male.
- groberts1980, on 05/06/2009, -2/+23I'm hoping the entire movie is Deadpool as he was before Stryker butchered him at the end of Wolverine. The scene where they storm that building was pretty awesome. I'd watch 120 minutes of that sort of action.
- saranagati, on 05/06/2009, -0/+18was i the only one disappointed that i could actually understand everything gambit said in the movie?
- mr0nine2five, on 05/06/2009, -0/+18I've loved Deadpool ever since a buddy of mine showed me a specifc comic strip. Loki (god of chaos and grief, or something like that) had created a copy of Thor's Hammer, and left it for Deadpool to find. Deadpool then has the "powers" of Thor and goes flies around doing stuff. In one panel, Deadpool is in front of the Neverland Ranch, pointing that big hammer at Michael Jackson. His line: "Get thee a LIFE!!"
- ajaxmil, on 05/06/2009, -0/+18It's called repressive memory. It happens to victims who have witnessed something so horrible or tragic, their brains want to forget it.
- DocHoliday22, on 05/06/2009, -3/+20A chance for them to ***** it up like everything else... One by one they're going to take our childhood comic book heros or villains and destroy the ***** out of them until there is nothing left.
- ManJackson, on 05/06/2009, -1/+18you mean will the film have trite and cliched dialogue? Probably. The chance of this increases the closer they get to source. I love comics, but I realized a long time ago that the stuff Marvel and DC churn out are not hallowed works of literature that should be preserved at all costs - they're goofy adventure stories with explosions, which is why Hollywood is all over them.
I read X-Men now and then, and it's definately entertaining stuff - but really, c'mon, it's not THAT good is it? In terms of intellectual credibility I'd say the movies matched the comics pretty well. They're not great works of art, but they look cool and provide a quick jolt of entertainment.
For the record, as soon as someone gets the greenlight on a Love & Rockets film I'm going to be watching over them like the ***** angel of death. - TheTCal, on 05/06/2009, -0/+15I'm hoping that they keep Deadpool's origins intact. From what Ryan Reynolds, who's a huge Deadpool fan himself, has said in many interviews, he's not making the movie if the cancer and insanity bits aren't there. That gives me at least a little hope since he's already on board.

- TheXboxReview, on 05/06/2009, -0/+15I remember the nurse saying "the bonding process isn't complete" or something
- burkish127, on 05/06/2009, -0/+15I stayed for the whole movie and got a lame easter egg scene of Wolverine at a bar with an Asian bartender. Deadpool was never in sight. Apparently they're not playing both scenes in every screening?
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -1/+15This sucks. They screwed with Deadpool too much in Wolverine. I mean, lasers in the eyes?? WTF?? Just stay with his backstory. It's already interesting enough, especially with Death herself involved.
- nekaidesigns, on 05/06/2009, -0/+14This is going to be an incredibly difficult script to pull off. Funny, badass, self-aware and fast paced? That's a tough tightrope to walk. I hold hope because Reynolds is good, and the character is so cool. First thing's first: get those retarded swords out of his arms.
- tgc1, on 05/06/2009, -0/+12His arm looks broken.
- Greengoo, on 05/06/2009, -0/+12My favorite deadpool moment is the Wolverine comic where they get captured during the Virus outbreak, and Deadpool and one of the captors are playing tic tac toe with blood by cutting deadpool's chest. Very comical.
I miss the old Wolverine series :( - jonshipman, on 05/06/2009, -2/+14Well for one - two bullet holes in Wolverine's skull. Why weren't they there in the first X-Men in his x-ray? Especially since they could've shot him in the eye with any regular bullet for the same effect. Maybe make them round adamantium so that they bounce around in his skull pulverizing it.
And all they needed to do is not mention 'Deadpool' and Weapon XI were the same. Deadpool was only mentioned once - if the script replaced that one word with Weapon XI then everything would be closer to cannon. - immatellyouwhat, on 05/06/2009, -0/+12@willdelaney
Yo Dawg, I heard you like powers... - mcfly1204, on 05/06/2009, -1/+13I can't remember anything from Wolverine.
- sedatedbylife, on 05/06/2009, -0/+12Personally, I enjoyed the scene when he thought he was thor and showed up at the avengers mansion. "Avengers! let us go avenge something!"
