- Elektriq, on 10/11/2007, -5/+79There's a girl in my school that's named Jedi.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -6/+67"Even the crappiest Star Wars film is better then the average film that come out these days."
...so says the Star Wars nerd that goes by the name of 'jewdiknight'. - dustblaaze, on 10/11/2007, -3/+59Of course this is only temporary until 2015 when Lucas will start filming for EP 7.
- geekchic, on 10/11/2007, -8/+63Dances on Jar Jar Binks grave.
- n8r0n, on 10/11/2007, -2/+47Yeah, until some new technology comes out and Lucas decides to use it to show his "true vision" for the films...
- IneffablePolk, on 10/11/2007, -14/+33"Even the crappiest Star Wars film is better then the average film that come out these days."
You did see Phantom Menace, right? - Davies, on 10/11/2007, -1/+20Razzing on the prequels must be trendy.
- FearlessFreep, on 10/11/2007, -8/+26Too many people view eps 1,2 and 3 through the rose colored glasses of their child hood memories. I enjoyed eps 1,2,3, though not in the same way as I remember Star Wars as a child, simply because a seven year old has a different perspective.
However my young children view eps 1,2,3 with the same excitement and wonder as I had as a child, so I tend to think that Lucas did a much better job with them then his is generally given credit by those who view is shaped by nostaligia - mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21I'd rather have an EP 7 than his ***** proposition of making a prequel to the prequels. What a horrible idea.
- bigtizzle, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15KOTOR based films could have some potential, though I need Wookiees if I'm ever to take a Star Wars installment seriously. . .
- FearlessFreep, on 10/11/2007, -4/+17@dorianh49
That was my point. People complain about 1,2,3 because of expectations based on seeing 4,5,6 back when the viewers were much younger. And that nostalgia (and often childhood amazement) often colors their view of 1,2,3.
I don't think 1,2,3 were really that bad - qevlhma93, on 10/11/2007, -5/+15Yes. Until Lucas dies and some greedy studio takes over the rights ;)
- tehdood, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Is this like when Lucas said that he would never again release the non-special edition versions of the Original Trilogy about 2 years before he did just that?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Yet you cared enough to post in this topic...
- budgetguitar, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9I actually think there is room for an Episode 7,8 and 9. There's more story to tell after the muppets, I mean ewoks, helped destroy the second death star. I've heard rumors about Luke turning to the dark side for a bit, Han and Leia having twin Jedi children, and a last stand of the sith lords. I'm not going to try to defend ep. 1, 2 and 3 as being the greatest but I'm just sayin' I think there's more story to tell, more lightsaber duels, space battles, narrow escapes, etc.
- Pfhreak, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7"I've heard rumors about Luke turning to the dark side for a bit, Han and Leia having twin Jedi children, and a last stand of the sith lords."
They're called "novels", you might want to check your local "bookstore" the next time you need a fix for new Star Wars material. - adenansu, on 10/11/2007, -12/+17now lets try to get episodes 1-3 unmade
- futureisours, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Never say never. Hopefully when Lucas is old and incapable of doing much of anything other than drooling, he'll sell the movie rights or pass them on to someone else who will continue the franchise. I won't be happy until at least eps 7-8-9 are completed like I was promised when I was a child!
- zeebusboy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Remember, all it takes is for George Lucas to roll out of bed one morning sometime over the next thirty years and go, "screw it, I'm making another one" for this to change.
Believe me, there is WAY too much money sitting on the table for this series to stay dead. - break99, on 10/11/2007, -5/+9So, no movie where Leia turns to the dark side. Pity.
- f4nt0m4s, on 10/11/2007, -9/+13Where is the public apology for making Episodes 1, 2 and 3?
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Rather than being sad, this is oddly comforting news...
- xspinkickx, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8you say that now until George Lucas digitally re-masters episode 4, 5 and 6 so that Jar Jar Binks becomes Luke Skywalkers Sidekick.
- orientis, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5We can only hope. I'd like to see the last three made - as long as Lucas had nothing whatsoever to do with it.
- fantasticFlan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Some greedy studio might hire a competent writer that won't write down to the kids in the audience . . . it happens occasionally.
- xelloss, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5I would love KOTOR TV or Film based, because there is so much life and you would get a bigger Jedi presences.
- CyPhiRevolution, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Nah this is not possible, everyone knows the movie industry will destroy a good idea until its not profitable and Star Wars is still profitable...
- ModOps, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4And get this: Han and Leia's son - one of the twins - becomes the next Dark Lord of the Sith. There are some really kick-ass novels out there. Of course, there are a few really damn lame ones, too.
- b0neman, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6This is absolute BS. No franchise that can automatically generate the mountainfuls of cash that Star Wars can will ever be allowed to die. The James Bond series is still going strong after umpteen movies and a bunch of different Bonds. Who's to say what will happen once Lucas kicks the bucket and Lucasfilms gets desparate for material to film?
Star Wars is a vast Universe that can be explored and exploited by the movie studios. They can choose from any number of the books and write a screen play out of that.
The Sith has yet to be **really** explored.
Let's get real people: They're doing a new Star Trek movie. Indiana Jones 4 is being worked on. Terminator 4!!!?!! Stallone just made Rocky 1000 and will be releasing Rambo 34. Any and all old movies and tv shows are getting remade every day for the big screen.
Another Star Wars movie will be made, if not 50 of them. - Karyyk, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Buried as inaccurate (or at least untruthful). 'nuff said.
- Gerz1219, on 10/11/2007, -5/+7@FearlessFreep -- The thing is, even if you're right, the prequels are never going to seem good to the older generation raised on the originals. And the younger generation that likes the prequels is always going to think the originals are quaint and boring. So in my opinion, Lucas failed to make six movies that people of either generation would enjoy. I wish he'd just made a sequel trilogy. A character like Darth Vader is only cool when you don't know how he became Darth Vader, and Lucas systematically destroyed every single mystery established in the originals.
- orientis, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Just when you thought Carrie Fisher couldn't get any sexier....
BLACK LINGERIE SITH MWAhAhA - IbnDigg, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6Guys, number 3 was just bad. It had the worst acting I have ever had the misfortune to see.
- TrojanGuy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Either he's out of the loop or unable to talk about it, but he's wrong about at least one thing. I wish I could say more.
- jumpfroggy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2> We can only hope. I'd like to see the last three made - as long as Lucas had nothing whatsoever to do with it.
Amen to that. Actually, I wish they'd remake the first three with no involvement of Lucas or any fan-generated content. Just do a Batman (throw away everything and start over). Why bother keeping the prequels if they're so bad?
> Sadly, we will have to wait 75 years until after Lucas' death...*sigh*
That's only for copyright to expire, which it probably wont (disney will probably lobby to extend copyright again). If it's going to happen, someone will buy the rights. - HouseofEl, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Was there ever any question? Lucas killed his vision all on his own.
- bstepanian, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2It has been official since 25 May 1983.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Ahh, I was looking forward to a "G" rated trilogy of the life and times of Jar Jar Binks........
- slightlyoffbeat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I want a movie w/ Dash Rendar
- MilitantRabbit, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Suck it Mickey Suttle.
- brandonhoth, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3I bet their are a ton of forty year old virgins who are staring at their monitors wondering if they've wasted their life.
- MrFlesh, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I thought lucas's ***** directing and haden christiansans ***** acting already did that.
- lemon67, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2the dude obviously has no legit source, he calls the dude Sansweet then Stansweet, Fail. Star Wars is incredible, Lucas was and is a visionary man, all you haters just because you didn't like them doesn't mean they were terrible, I have a profound love for Star Wars and always will. Much respect.
- OnAnyMouse, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Ok, George, I'll allow for a few scenes of Luke and Leia growing up, if you throw a few Solo fist fights into the mix, and keep the pink and frilly ***** from Leah. Everything Leiah was, was a rejection of pretty pretty princess. Show me Greedo doing some some *****.
Gimme something dark, and something tough. The first season of BSG, that tough. you have the material; use it. Cupie^H^H^H^H^HVader is pissed off, Palpatine is in power, most of the Jedi have been slain, and the Empire is growing and tightening its grip. Give me muppet blood. It doesn't have to be Jar Jar, but it wouldn't hurt to see stormtroopers roast some Ewoks as they build on Endor. It would do wonders for your rep if we aw a stormtrooper eat an ewok.
Let me see the bad guy get bad enough to deserve a Rebellion. - wilhoitm, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2This is a JEDI Mind Trick!!
- triPzZz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Thank God.
- break99, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2You obviously don't play games... This is one of the most healthy franchise in games.
- Fentekreel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I thought it was dead when i saw episode one.....damn jarjar binks....
