macleans.ca — The Canadian author of 'Knocked Up' on why she's suing Judd Apatow and Universal over Apatow's new movie 'Knocked Up'. Rebecca Eckler's book 'Knocked Up: Confessions of a Hip Mother-to-be' was released in March of 2005 and demonstrates a near-creepy host of similarities to Apatow's film, released on June 1st to a box office of over $30 million.

- thesnowfox, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Agreed. I'm trying to get the word out as much as I can! Rebecca Eckler is a great writer and doesn't deserve to have this done to her.
- egrrrl, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0this is the dumbest lawsuit ever. Eckler is conveniently leaving out all sorts of information - like she got pregnant by her fiance, a wealthy lawyer, not a one-night stand unemployed loser. And every single event she claims was lifted from her book is something that MOST pregnant women experience (feeling out of place at a bar or party? newsflash, Eckler, you are not the first pregnant woman on earth to have that feeling!)
This is just yet another example of Eckler being a self-absorbed idiot. Or a brilliant marketer. Either way.
And did you know she has a ghost writer? She's not even a good writer without significant help - her blog is practically unreadable. - rosefu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0"her blog is practically unreadable."
You must be kidding me. Here's her blog:

The grammar is not perfect by any means, but it's also a far cry from "unreadable."
