- Gudlyf, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8Hey, good luck Dave! Can't wait to check it out. (Keith @ TV Squad)
- ahhell, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3did you just call Steven Spielberg a woman?
- Jenner8675309, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You're right, everyone has to start somewhere. But everyone is entitled to their own opinions and simply because theirs differs from yours doesn't mean its mean at all. This person obviously has followed the film and its paths and has made their own decision.
The movie does need work. It starts out great and then slides till it implodes at the end with the most disturbing "reveal" I have ever seen. And the fact that the film is available via download before a tangible product is a sign that the studio doesn't back it fully. It may be used as an excuse to push back the DVD release and/or worldwide release. If it really was such a huge/true internet sensation MGM would have given it limited theatrical distribution. This film was submitted to numerous film festivals and rejected by most. Its an OK film, but its no genius film.
Some of us SGA fans also have brains and can judge for ourselves and don't see the actors as gods and do their bidding blindly like most of DH's obsessed fans. - axelsegebrecht, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Seconded! If it's available on Amazon to download, there's no legit reason why us poor Europeans and the rest of the world shouldn't watch it.
Well done though mate, looking forward to seeing it soon :-D - swgc5, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4David Hewlett is great, I can't wait to see this movie.
- Barbas06, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Is everyone so hyped about this film or is this just your average spam fest?
- tigereyedestiny, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I have to agree. I really think this is going to be a great movie. Especially with David, his sister and some of the other cast members of SGA in it!
- alison974, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4this should be made available to people in other countries!
good work though - Dorkarama, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yeah, we REALLY are so, so hyped about this film!!!
- tigereyedestiny, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1By the way David, if you read this I did not mean to give it -1 diggs, I didn't realize how that part of this worked until just now. If I could I would put + 5 but obviously I can't edit this anymore...
- PBGal, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2same here. Oh well. We'll just have to wait just that little bit longer
- tigereyedestiny, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1No, I just have a crappy job that doesn't pay me enough to afford cable or dsl.
- redphoniex, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1i really hope it comes to DVD rather than download. It was a great film and to brave the digg trolls shows real commitment. Well done David.
- whistlerpro, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Davis Hewlett is indeed great but I imagine most of the people who dugg this up were his fans not normal digg users. Nice to hear about the project anyway. =)
- PLoker, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Pre-ordered and will wait paitently for my copy to arrive.
So EXCITED, can't even tell you.
Awesome job David!! - nanook660, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2I myself cannot wait to see this. My sisters have ordered their copies and I am eagerly waiting to see if I get a copy for my B Day if not I too will be ordering too. All the hardwork is finally paying off David and Jane. Congrats.
Hugs
Fran AKA nanook660 - tigereyedestiny, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Would love to download this, but I have dialup and it would take 100 years for me to get it. I have pre-ordered the move at Amazon.com though!
- SalsGal, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Yay! It's about time! I've seen it - thank heaven for screenings - and I think everyone else should, too. =) Congratulations, David! Next up, news on an international release?
- Bek78, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3I just can't wait to see it go international... When I read your twitter I thought I was in luck. Sadly it was not to be... well yet anyway..

But, Christopher Judge, what a good actor he is!. He (beside Mars of course) stole the show. Why hasn't Hollywood discovered him???? And Mars just doing his doggie thing, trotting very non-chalantly through the scenes was hilarious. Or maybe it was method acting!
- SpookyGeek, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Good Luck, and congrats all in one. We are looking forward to seeing and owning this movie.
- gravityisalie, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3all the hard work is paying off! congrats david!!!!
- FruityHotLips, on 10/11/2007, -5/+5'Internet sensation'??? The DVD lasted all of 24 hours on Amazon's top sellers and disappeared as fast as it went in...basically after the initial rush of Hewlett's regular blog viewers had ordered up. The majority of 'views' to the trailer are because its embedded in the homepage of Mr Hewlett's website set to auto start or watched repeatedly by the same people. Obviously they've not heard of 'unique IP' tracking??? Possibly why its never been 'featured' on YouTube? Even Mr Hewlett (aka the director/writer/star) has to post his own articles on Digg (take a step back dude, you're not helping yourself).
At least it wasn't the exaggerated, narcissistic self-written that went down like a lead balloon on Digg previously. And come on, admitting to ordering a copy yourself??? Now that, is sad. And yes, I have seen this movie and was disappointed, mainly because it was mediocre at best BUT had the potential to be a lot better (both technically and creatively). Its offered for download because its neither popular enough nor good enough for a theatrical release and has no doubt been rejected from anything but the most minor festivals that struggle for content. Maybe if the PR stopped exaggerating and was A LOT smarter (and a hell of a lot less 'geekish') about its net-marketing strategy it might have got somewhere. Currently, no one outside the Stargate fandom really gives a damn.
This is a 'chihuahua' of a movie, no amount of 'great dane' delusions will change that. - masterchica, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3"A Dog's Breakfast" Thanks por speaking about this amazing movie, my friends and I can't wait for it to arrive in Latinamerica and Spain (we really hope it has spanish subtitlles, ther are like millions of us :P )
- kiffle, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Loved the movie, hope it does really well!
- HERMIT532, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Wow, talk about critical. Everyone has to start somewhere and not everyone's FIRST movie is going to be a box office hit.
Thanks for the encouraging comments. Yeah, real encouraging to someone trying to do something new in their life. By the way, many movies go straight to DVD without hitting the theaters.
I'm just glad that David Hewlett fans are much nicer than the people that infest DIGGS. - Aldhelm, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2I normally don't buy from Itunes for my music in iPod (i steal). But I'll do it just for this film.
- jake8689, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1you ave dial-up what are like 80 years old or do u live in the middle of nothing
