- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+40The game is afoot, I'll have anal bum covers for $500, Alex.
Cad: digitally aging people isn't hard to do, just look at xmen 3. With Lucas involved I'm sure Connery will look like JarJar once it's released. - TerriSchiavo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22The quest for the grail is not archeology... It is a race againshht evil! If it capshured by the Nazis the armiesh of darknesh will march over the face of the earth. Do you undershtand me, Junior?!
- ferndave, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen almost forced me to retire from watching movies.
- CadMasterAdam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15i don't understand how this would work:
in the Last crusade connery was old enough.
now the movie has to be like at least 5 years post Crusade.
its gonna be hard to make ford passible let alone sean - SundayTrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Lucas should make a sequel to Howard The Duck.. ;)
- HoosbinPharteen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I dunno, if I was 76 years old and living in the Bahamas for the final few years of my life, I'd definitely say screw off to any Hollywood types.
- bayliss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13"Connery told Scotland" ?
I wish I could brief an entire country on what I feel like doing in the future... - RoundysSince, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Ford will do his own stunts...... in CGI.
- Ndiggnation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7True, but they also crossed whatever barrier that the Templar (?) knight said they cannot cross. It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I think it was implied that the immortality would only hold if you stayed there in the cave/temple, to guard the grail. The price of immortality as it were..
- marm0t, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I wouldn't pass up the chance to leave the movie industry on a good note with a good movie. Don't you think it would be better than being remembered as star who left the biz in an epic adventure rather than an epic failure?
- CaptShmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5mmm the funniest line in the article (for me)
"It's going to be fantastic. It's going to be the best one yet," said the legendary producer, who also created the Star Wars movies.
that association could mean quite a few things to fans these days =P - Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Never. Ever. Say ***** about the greatest actor ever.
- HardSide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Wait, what happend with the league of extraordinary gentlemen? is he upset it just didnt do good or something? explain for the ignorant ones...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"What's the matter, Trebek? Does your bottom hurt? Did you have a date last night?"
- HoosbinPharteen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I doubt he really cares, he's THE james bond (THE everything for that matter) and he's probably got more money than he knows what to do with. I'd sit on the ***** beach in a speedo and drink all day in the sun.
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Indiana Jones is a fictional character, how can he be a fraud?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5It was a ***** sorry film. Apparently it was being written during filming and everyone hated each other.
It was amusing to see Conery desperately scrambling to find good things to say about it when he was interviewed about it on english TV shortly prior to its release. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Depends on the number of zeros on the check though.
- vagarach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I suppose the author was so into his story he forgot his addition skills!
- stratdog25, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'll take the Penis Mightier for $500!!!
- Chewie67, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Boy, I had high hopes for that movie. The concept is brilliant, and done well, it could have easily become a major franchise.
As it is, the movie was okay -- not great, not cringe-worthy -- but just not enough for a big-budget sequel.
Too bad. - Chinzon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yeah I laughed at that bit too.
"Lucas did describe it as a 'character piece'"
What, like Attack of the Clones, George? - Chinzon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4He never said anything about William Shatner...
- Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would bust out of retirement if I was the only man to play Dr. Jones Sr. Money would be no object as to play a role so sacred.
- baaj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"No, if he had meant Shatner it would have been:
Never......Ever......Say *****......about......the greatest actor......ever."
That was hysterical. No idea why you got dugg down - Eoxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@CadMasterAdam
"its gonna be hard to make ford passible let alone Sean"
Never heard or seen a photoshop lifting ? When you can make dinosaurs alive on screen I don't think the age of an actor is a problem ...
The actors are good ones - if the story is good - there won't be any problems ... - MrZaiko, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Hopefully they Invented modern wheelchairs by that era. they will need them in their wonderful adventures. haha no offense, I'm a fan of Indiana Jones
Its just that my brain cant find a good story for this 4Th movie. George Lucas said it will be the best one ever, But who could trust Lucas after the last 3 movies he made... - wacka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No...any man can play anyone regardless of age...women don't get to do that, or at least not as often.
Ford made Firewall, I'm sure he can make Indiana Jones 4, no problem! And as far as Connery goes, just bring the Nazis to the Bahamas for him and he ought to be able to film it at home. - kravex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A what point did someone say "Lets make one of the extraordinary gentlemen a woman".
- cgraham558, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2OK people, raise your hand if you don't understand that this is Hollywood we are talking about. These are movies. Anyone can play anyone, regardless of age, if they are a good actor. This isn't a 70 year old man playing a six year old. Its Connery & Ford, I am pretty sure they'll pull it off.
- ephemeral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"It's going to be fantastic. It's going to be the best one yet," said the legendary producer, who also created the Star Wars movies.
How's that for credibility? :) - howski, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the knight told them not to cross the seal, because that was "the boundary - and the price - of immortality."
- 4NDr01D, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1why does Outland come to mind ??
I forgot he was in Darby O'Gill and the Little People
Karen Allen / Marion Ravenwood is also rumored !
IMDB FTW ! - shibainu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1bring back short round!
- t4k3n, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I wonder if he will put on a scottish accent?
/ sarcasm. - Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Those were just car payments and a jacuzzi.
- Risasi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Dude with your use of a double negative I think I sprained my brain trying to figure out what you meant. Did you think LoEG sucked or not?
- onedub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Will there be bitch slapping?? http://www.muchosucko.com/show/sean_connery_talks_about_slapping_women-24257
- aviazn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I read that he was offered a role in LotR, and turned it down because he wasn't really into the source material. Then after LotR got huge, he signed onto The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen even though he was into that source material even less because he thought it might be the next LotR, and was pretty let down by the whole thing.
- angelos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@D3Koy
Please perform seppuku with a kitchen spoon. It will barely attenuate the shamefulness of your comments. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Personally, I didn't think The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen wasn't that bad. I can think of a crap load of worse movies than that one. Hm. To each his own.
- cassie47, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0isn't he too old for these things? even if he is a great actor he'll need that stunt double evey time he does a gig. he said he was retired, now why is he comeing back? what's he gonna do?
- hyperblackchi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Doesn't anybody remember the end of the last crusade? they both drank from the cup of christ granting them imortality
- seanthebond, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Well the cast doesn't exactly look friendly.
http://imdb.com/title/tt0311429/ - tripple-breve, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Connery's been in lots of sucky movies (some of which I've liked, but that's beside the point). It's not like he needs the money, but (to Connery:) shut the ***** up, bitch.
- ldkronos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"Connery has repeatedly insisted he has retired from movies, following a miserable experience on The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen in 2002, when he repeatedly clashed with the film's inexperienced director."
- ldkronos, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3No, if he had meant Shatner it would have been:
Never......Ever......Say *****......about......the greatest actor......ever. - ewy99, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Don Murphy. I really fail to see how it could have been bad!
/sarcasm/
And after seeing his antics on his message board concerning Transformers Movie. I'm not surprised one bit. - Risasi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Me too, I don't know how they are going to pass off two geriatrics as adventuring action types. I just hope this isn't the script they are working with: http://www.theindyexperience.com/zip_file_archive/saucer_men_from_mars_script_word.zip
- vcleniuk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Strange... I thought LoEG was good. Well at least watchable.
It wasn't as good as Last Crusade, but still. -
