Indiana Jones IV Trailer!
gizmodo.com — YesYesYesYesYes! YES! Indy says: "It's not as easy as it used to be" Yeah, but damnit it looks good. Specially that scene in the military depot (probably Area 51) from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

- TheRedeemer, on 02/14/2008, -9/+398I was sooooo worried about Harrison Ford being too old for this. I was proven wrong. Can't wait for it to come out!
- hydroplane, on 02/14/2008, -3/+90It's not the years, its the mileage.
- robflm256, on 02/14/2008, -4/+2That would be so awesome if he said that to Marion in this one again!!
- jesuswuzanalien, on 02/14/2008, -11/+3Yeah go ahead and start blowin off his 60 year old dick. We'll see how much it's about the mileage then.
- aclockwork3, on 02/14/2008, -6/+3That's such ***** that people are burying your comment, that's the most sound piece of information on this entire thread.

- dOOBiEx213, on 02/15/2008, -1/+3Besides his age... CGI FTL
- typicalusername, on 02/14/2008, -26/+7How were you "proven wrong"? It's a trailer. I'm still skeptical of it. He falls on the cab of a truck, caves it in, and just rolls it off? A young Indy would have a problem with that, not to mention an old one!
- danwallace, on 02/14/2008, -4/+13While the two henchmen sit there and wait for him to make a witty quip.
- hightower77, on 02/14/2008, -0/+25Yeah, that never happend in the other 3 films. /scarcasm
- zengonzo, on 02/14/2008, -6/+1Yeah. With mouths agape. That was pretty painful.
Still, there were corny moments in the originals. Let's just hope the quality parts make up for it. - neferiousrich, on 02/14/2008, -1/+15the corny moments are the best
- rpatel11, on 02/14/2008, -11/+2the last time an indy movie used that type of font for the title, the movie sucked (ToD)

- kiiwii, on 02/14/2008, -6/+19While I am looking forward to the movie... I have to admit, the first time I saw Indy in the trailer, my first thought was "Wow, he looks old..."
- provost, on 02/14/2008, -0/+7no no nonono you're thinking of danny glover as Sergeant Roger Murtaugh :)

- Ipwnyou, on 02/14/2008, -0/+18Same here but I have never found myself smiling during a movie trailer as much as I just did for Indy 4...
- Sabretou, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Me too, although I'm thinking it's a tie between this, 300 and The Dark Knight.
- coolmos, on 02/14/2008, -7/+2The only thing i was worried about: No known scientologists in this movie no? Please?
- BlazinEurasian, on 02/14/2008, -1/+22Harrison Ford is one of my favorite all time action stars. Han Solo, Indiana Jones..

- sovietninja, on 02/14/2008, -0/+11Seriously people must be thinking your referring to Alec Baldwin Hunt for Red Octokber. But guys he was in Clear and Present Danger and Patriot Games. Harrison Ford is a bad ass.
- Nitesmoke, on 02/14/2008, -1/+8Ford was a much better Jack Ryan, than Baldwin or Affleck, and this trailer gave me much more hope than I had.

The whole movie was probably green screened from the retirement home.- 5urr3al5am, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4yeah because movies are all about reality
- 5urr3al5am, on 02/14/2008, -3/+5This looks SO DAMN GOOD! I'm mostly likely going to see this opening night.. I don't usually do that unless its a block buster movie like this
- willster580, on 02/14/2008, -0/+10I don't care if Harrison Ford is wearing diapers, he'll still be badass.
- quomen, on 02/14/2008, -1/+7I LOVE HARRISON FORD! GO INDY! GO HAN!
- mGARANDEUR1, on 02/14/2008, -8/+3The movie is supposed to happen around 1938 yet the Germans are using mp-40 submachine guns. Most movies mess up weapons of war.
- mrdoogee, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5Nope, Last Crusade happened in 1938. This one is set after 1947 for sure since Roswell is one of the locations. Unless of course Indy went to the middle of New Mexico for the fine dining, not the aliens.
Also, unless I'm mistaken the soldiers in this trailer are Americans, not Germans/Nazis.- Stormwysper, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4Plus Cate Blanchet is supposed to be playing some Soviet soilder or something. I think the Soviets are the main baddies in this on and it takes place sometime in the 50's. Just speculation on my part.
- PixelMagic, on 02/14/2008, -0/+6This movie takes place in 1957. Wikipedia ftw!

- mariot75, on 02/14/2008, -2/+354Yes, Ford's old and I have doubts about what it will be like, but as soon as I hear the John Williams music, its like the sound of an old friend...yes, I want to see this movie!
- Procure, on 02/14/2008, -0/+37John Williams is king. My hero, anyways...
- serif69, on 02/14/2008, -10/+4John Williams is to the french horn what Michael Bay is to the explosion. Or what the Bruce Dickinson is to the cowbell.
- antdude, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Is he composing for this movie? I hope so!
- UnleashChaos, on 02/14/2008, -1/+4Yes, hence the music in the trailer 0_o
- antdude, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1Um, isn't that the same one from previous movies? I was referring to new scores.
- UnleashChaos, on 02/14/2008, -1/+4Yes, hence the music in the trailer 0_o
- CalamariAce, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2He's composed music for a LOT of epic movies. The question is, did the music make the movie epic, or did the movie make the music epic?
Or more likely, they just decide to hire an epic composer when they make an epic movie.- candafilm, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2Music is a lot of it. Do you think Star Wars would be the same without it's epic main theme or The Imperial March?
Most filmmakers philosophy is visual is only half the movie.
- candafilm, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2Music is a lot of it. Do you think Star Wars would be the same without it's epic main theme or The Imperial March?
- accn112, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4I wonder if John William's stuff will be considered "classical" in 200-300 years.

I'm such a dick.

- spookyttws, on 02/14/2008, -0/+10It's like the Star Wars, Zelda, and Mario scores. They all make me go to a special place.
- newdigger, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Pure truth.
- nshady, on 02/15/2008, -0/+4It's so lighthearted - think about how this trailer would be scored today if this was a brand new movie in a new franchise. It be all drones and fast beats to ramp up the tension, with strings kicking in as the action montage came to a head. Really shows that this movie is almost from a different time, a different sensibility to today's blockbusters.
- Procure, on 02/14/2008, -0/+37John Williams is king. My hero, anyways...

- patpl22391, on 02/14/2008, -28/+9I don't think it will be on par with the original three.
- blankoboy, on 02/14/2008, -73/+39Looking like it'll be a fun flick BUT do we really need the American flag in EVERY block buster movie (and their trailers)? We already know it's an American film so we don't need the star mangled banner shoved down our freakin' throats. Sorry, but I am absolutely sick of this 'patriotism' overkill.
- nblsavage, on 02/14/2008, -5/+57it's set in the 50's it was all America, Mom, Apple Pie back then. I don't see the problem.
- blankoboy, on 02/14/2008, -25/+13It's still "all America" everything is all America.....Spiderman swinging around the Amiercan flag pole, and every other movie as well. It does get to be a little tiring...
- nblsavage, on 02/14/2008, -4/+9I'll agree with the Spidey/flagpole thing. I thought that was unneeded.
- thinkclearly, on 02/14/2008, -5/+15If you pay attention people fly flags everywhere. If you live in a city you probably see one a day, at least. It is realistic that it is in a movie, especially on a military base. Get over it.
- Ataxia2008, on 02/14/2008, -3/+2Not in Britain
- blankoboy, on 02/14/2008, -10/+8Are you telling me you haven't noticed how much more the star spangled banner has been whored around in US movies in the last 5-7 years? Sure, you can agree that this is true.
- zengonzo, on 02/14/2008, -5/+4He's right, though. It's being used in the most bogus, phony way. Which only degrades, not reinforces, its identity.
- chrisreynolds, on 02/14/2008, -5/+2I'm surprised that blankoboy is getting dugg down. I totally agree that the patriotism is really getting shoved down our throats too much and I hope that this movie doesn't try and do that.
However you need to take shots like that in context too. In the context of the trailer it was patriotism being shoved down our throat. In the movie, however, it could be an establishing shot to let us know we aren't in Russia (or wherever) anymore. I personally am crossing my fingers for the second - bbardlbradd, on 02/14/2008, -1/+2It's called propaganda, get used to it! It's better than seeing spiderman swing around a swiffer.
- Yermad, on 02/14/2008, -7/+1Its the same thing as Fed-Ex in in Cast Away or in any other product placement really... U.S government actually pay for that. But if you watch carefully, sometimes they put the flag in meaningful way like in Pulp Fiction.
- iamafatguy, on 02/14/2008, -0/+6The government *paying* for flag placement in a movie? You really believe that?
[citation needed]- Yermad, on 02/15/2008, -2/+0Great, at least you requested some evidence which tend to prove a critic mind. I did some research on the net and tried to get something in English for you. Its astonishing to see how this information is rare in your language and how its easy to get in foreign language!! Anyway I didn't find anything in direct line of that but if you read between lines, here's the link; http://www.onthemedia.org/transcripts/2005/05/20/0 ... and here one of the citation 'However, in the case of the United States, we practice some of the most vigorous and, some would say, vicious cultural protectionism and state subvention of film, television, sport and any other aspect of popular culture you could name in world history.' The key word is subvention here. Its a bit long to read for an average digg user but you might not be one hopefully... Oh... by the way... a flag is a logo, nothing else...
- iamafatguy, on 02/14/2008, -0/+6The government *paying* for flag placement in a movie? You really believe that?
- pintomp3, on 02/14/2008, -3/+2and jim crow.
- blankoboy, on 02/14/2008, -25/+13It's still "all America" everything is all America.....Spiderman swinging around the Amiercan flag pole, and every other movie as well. It does get to be a little tiring...
- SonnyW, on 02/14/2008, -7/+50But how else would we find out if the movie makers hate freedom or not?
- blankoboy, on 02/14/2008, -7/+5Please clean the milk off my keyboard now =) a vote up for you!
- markfid, on 02/14/2008, -28/+8Agree, it's too much, I'm getting so fed up with American films, they are getting worse and worse with this brain washing. The flag just stuck out of the film, it didn't fit in, makes me not want to go and see the film in fact.
- timewarp424, on 02/14/2008, -3/+17It's a pretty normal thing for a country to put it's own images into a movie. That's like asking people to stop showing the white house, or asking people to stop showing the queen, parliament, big ben, double decker buses.. and so forth. It's not wrong or bad to have an identity as a nation. If you don't like it cuz you're from a different country, realize you do the same thing or if you don't like it being an american, well get use to it. We need a sense of identity.
- chrisreynolds, on 02/14/2008, -5/+4I think people are mixing up background elements and scenery with an in-your-face billowing flag shot.
I doubt any one is debating taking all flags out of the movie. I think the question is "is it relevant to Indiana Jones' story to have an over patriotic message being braodcasted to the audience?"
- chrisreynolds, on 02/14/2008, -5/+4I think people are mixing up background elements and scenery with an in-your-face billowing flag shot.
- akamurph, on 02/14/2008, -3/+2I didn't even notice the flag. ...and easy solution for you, don't go see the flick if the American flag ***** you off so much.
- blankoboy, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2The American flag doesn't ***** me off in the least, it's a beautiful flag and so are the beliefs it is based upon. I am ***** off about the ultra-nationalism going on here.
It goes hand-in-hand with the "God bless America, the greatest country in the world garbage". America and Americans are no greater than anyone else in the world. We're all equal humans....the sooner America understands this and lives by this the better for everyone.
- blankoboy, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2The American flag doesn't ***** me off in the least, it's a beautiful flag and so are the beliefs it is based upon. I am ***** off about the ultra-nationalism going on here.
- markfid, on 02/14/2008, -25/+6Well, you have been berried, no surprise really, you said something bad about the masters. You bad boy! You had better apologise, me also...
- I'm sorry boss, I didn't mean to offend ya', I'll not do it again I promise, please forgive me.- HalBSure, on 02/14/2008, -1/+8Well, you have been dingled.

...
- HalBSure, on 02/14/2008, -1/+8Well, you have been dingled.
- markdall, on 02/14/2008, -14/+11In this series of movies it's traditional. Haven't you seen any of them? If the US is so bad, feel free to leave.
- nblsavage, on 02/14/2008, -8/+17You know, I think the "love it or leave it" crowd are far, far worse than someone complaining about overdone nationalism.
- Corrosionx, on 02/14/2008, -0/+9They are the ones who will still say "Love it or leave it" when it's become a police state.
- nblsavage, on 02/14/2008, -8/+17You know, I think the "love it or leave it" crowd are far, far worse than someone complaining about overdone nationalism.
- Hoogs, on 02/14/2008, -1/+6I love my country, too bad you don't. Indy is an American hero.
- highstriker, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Seriously? Do you even remember the other Indiana Jones movies? If those weren't patriotic/pro U.S. I don't know what is.
But whatever- no loss to me if you don't want to watch a movie because of a flag.
- nblsavage, on 02/14/2008, -5/+57it's set in the 50's it was all America, Mom, Apple Pie back then. I don't see the problem.
- brokenworlds, on 02/14/2008, -11/+12Awesome trailer
- TracerMan, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Anyone else notice the song from Dune in the beginning?
- Po0py, on 02/14/2008, -25/+51Is it me or is there an extra helping of cheese in this one compared to how I remember Indy movies?
- MacEnvy, on 02/14/2008, -1/+40George Lucas loves his cheese, there's no denying that. Just look at the SW prequels.
- Chubs879, on 02/14/2008, -0/+7Hell, look at the Star Wars originals.
- thebigkahuna, on 02/14/2008, -2/+74rewatch them, they are all kind of hokey and full of cheese, but thats what makes them great.
- ahoyhoy, on 02/14/2008, -0/+6They are meant to be re imaging of the cheesey adventure flicks of the 40's and 50's that Lucas grew up with. So, Cheese = Good in this rarest of rare cases.
- dsendecki, on 02/14/2008, -1/+47Indiana Jones movies were always a little bit cheesy — that's part of the genre.
- swrostmore, on 02/14/2008, -12/+7yes - especially the part where Ford lands on the windshield of a nazi truck or whatever, looks directly at the camera (breaking the fourth wall) and says "I thought that was closer." Then he winks at the camera and elbows a nazi in the face.
- NeverReturnKid, on 02/14/2008, -0/+8I don't remember seeing any Nazis in the trailer...
- web2pointYo, on 02/14/2008, -3/+1The nazis are in there from a previous movie. Indian Jones and the Temple of the Nazis or something. I think it was the third one.
- bone625, on 02/14/2008, -0/+141. Yes, no Nazis in the trailer.
2. Indy was talking to himself/the guys in the truck, not the audience.
3. There was no wink.- web2pointYo, on 02/14/2008, -1/+7Although to be fair, I think he may have farted.
- web2pointYo, on 02/14/2008, -0/+10"looks directly at the camera (breaking the fourth wall)" Thanks for the exp. (presses keys on the keyboard)
your comment made me turn and look at the camera facing me, and make the facial expression, "Is that post serious"?
Now I press return and type N.O.W.Space bar. I.p...- natchiketa, on 02/14/2008, -0/+8(keanu) Whoa!
- chrissandvick, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3Now you've guys have spoiled it for swrostmore. He would have gone to see it and babbled "Communists are the villains? But.. but they are the GOOD guys!"
- NeverReturnKid, on 02/14/2008, -0/+8I don't remember seeing any Nazis in the trailer...
- GarySZ, on 02/14/2008, -0/+7Its just you.
- vofuse, on 02/14/2008, -2/+12Raiders of the Lost Ark actually played it straight. I thought they marred the sequels by going for the yucks.
- kylehale, on 02/14/2008, -4/+3Yea, it seems like there's even more Hollywood than I remembered before. That's what you get with trying to revamp a classic in 2008 with post production and CGI coming out hollywood's ears
- etruscan, on 02/14/2008, -1/+7Nah - Indy was always campy and pulp - and filled with hokey action and such. That's what made it fantastic. If you haven't gone back and watched them lately, you should.
- web2pointYo, on 02/14/2008, -1/+13Your kidding right? Saying Indy movies are cheesey is like saying the sun is a little on the warm side. The cheese is what makes them good.
that and the whip.
- MacEnvy, on 02/14/2008, -1/+40George Lucas loves his cheese, there's no denying that. Just look at the SW prequels.
- cambrown99, on 02/14/2008, -1/+7So looking forward to this
- acdcfanbill, on 02/14/2008, -8/+180looks like there is no shortage of CGI.
- toekneebullard, on 02/14/2008, -4/+50Indeed...this makes me sad. One of the things that made IJ so great was all the practical stunts. I'm this will still be fun, but I'm a little worried about all that CG.
- BedPost, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1If you've ever been to Disney World and seen the Raiders of the Lost Ark reenactment, you know what he's talking about.
- postalblowfish7, on 02/14/2008, -12/+3not to mention that ILM, well, kinda sucks at making CG believable.
- PixelMagic, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3ILM is the *****. You have no idea what you are talking about.
- CaptainM4d, on 02/14/2008, -0/+19Not to be completely reliant on information that Wikipedia has to offer, but it has this to say about the movie:
"In order to keep aesthetic continuity with the previous films, there will be minimal use of computer-generated imagery and more of a reliance on traditional stuntwork" - theragu40, on 02/14/2008, -0/+38Yeah, but if anyone can make CGI look believable in his movies, it's Steven Spielberg. Go back and watch Jurassic Park. The CGI in there still looks believable, and it's over 10 years old.
- acdcfanbill, on 02/14/2008, -0/+12I'll give you that one, while it looks dated, Jurassic Park still feels believable enough with it's CGI.
- universalpants, on 02/14/2008, -2/+0I still think Jurassic Park has the best CGI of any movie I have ever seen.
- tdogg241, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Jurassic Park came out in 93. Almost old enough to get a learner's permit.
- RobotLeAwesome, on 02/14/2008, -5/+4If you go back and watch the trailer again, there actually isn't *that* much CGI overall.
- jstohler, on 02/14/2008, -1/+11Yes there is. A lot more than there should be.
- DiggasWAttitude, on 02/14/2008, -1/+10Seriously. Its like Lucas and Spielberg forgot their Charlemagne. "Let my armies be the rocks and the trees and the birds in the sky." Not pixels and cg models.
- LoopyChew, on 02/14/2008, -0/+10I can tell by the pixels and having seen a quite few CG scenes in my time.
- davidheustis, on 02/14/2008, -5/+10 Yeah, there is a lot of "CGI" work; however that may be defined. I recommend getting at least the 720P trailer( http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/indianajones.html? ... ) and watching it frame by frame.
First of all, most everything takes place on a screen set. If you look closely, 59 seconds in is a screen set.
Who knows what they did to 1:04.
At 1:09 you can see that Harrison Ford did not do his own stunt; rather we see a double crash through the roof, and transform into Harrison. Look closely, frame by frame, at his ear and shirt. Notice how his shoe cleverly obstructs our view of his face.
1:15 Effects, obviously. how would you film that in real life?
1:17 Who knows?
1:18 Glorious CG airplane, accompanied by a matte painting.
1:20 Transformers kid. We all know he exists only in the ILM workstations. ;)
1:26 CG environment. Screened peoples.
1:27 More screened peoples!
1:28 Someone told me the giant hard drive platter thing is actually CG.
1:29 Pillars!
1:31 CG Environment. screened people.
1:33 Matte painting. Screened people.
1:34 Sky is screened in.
1:37 The swing chain is CG. It's debatable as to whether or not the background behind the engine is real or CG.
1:41 So cool!!!
From the look and style of the trailer, one would suspect that it was designed in-house, rather than by a trailer company. Mysterious.- haiduz, on 02/14/2008, -1/+11what the hell? special effects? I though everything that happens in movies actually happened in real life!
- neognostic, on 02/14/2008, -0/+10Step away from the computer.....................
- ncapone, on 02/14/2008, -7/+5Get a girlfriend, it's Valentine's Day!
- Solis, on 02/14/2008, -0/+10***** girls.
- Shatneresque, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3WTF, dude? I looked at the roof crash, and that sure looks like the real thing to me. The shirt gets lighter because there is a bright light passing overhead.
How much you wanna bet when the DVD comes out we'll see behind the scenes footage of him doing that stunt?- dOOBiEx213, on 02/15/2008, -1/+1When we see the Blu-ray, you'll only see green screens.
- carpeclunes, on 02/14/2008, -0/+25Sean Connery is going to be all CG.
- JPOOPOO, on 02/15/2008, -1/+2***** CGI
- toekneebullard, on 02/14/2008, -4/+50Indeed...this makes me sad. One of the things that made IJ so great was all the practical stunts. I'm this will still be fun, but I'm a little worried about all that CG.
- VinceNoir, on 02/14/2008, -45/+14Harrison Ford rules. But man, some of you people need to settle the ***** down. It's just a freakin' movie sequel. The fourth to be exact. Sure, I got all excited about my Blade Runner ultimate director's cut box set. But not to the extent that fanboys do. It's one thing to be excited and look forward to something. However, to treat it like it's the second coming is quite another. And that other thing would be: sad and pathetic. Like I said before fanboy club... SETTLE THE ***** DOWN.
- Asberry, on 02/14/2008, -4/+5You are brave so I will dig you, but know that you will be buried by a tsunami of Indy fanboys.
For me, Harrison looked great but it looks like there is too much CG action in the movie and I'm not a fan of the whole aliens thing going on the flick.
And I miss seeing Indy fight Nazis.- TDot1980, on 02/14/2008, -0/+15Nazis. I hate these guys.
- pianonotes1010, on 02/14/2008, -0/+12Second coming? I already came 3 times.
- cmuwriter, on 02/14/2008, -5/+2I dugg you up brotha!
- jcastillo81, on 02/14/2008, -2/+3Thank you Captain Buzzkill!
- typicalusername, on 02/14/2008, -5/+3I'm with ya. If I see another ***** post just saying "Can't wait to see this", I'm going to gouge out someone's eyes and skull ***** them!
- br0ck, on 02/14/2008, -1/+5Why do you hang out in movie trailer threads when you so vehemently hate one of the only two logical reactions to a trailer (do want to see/don't want to see)?
- typicalusername, on 02/14/2008, -1/+2Maybe because I'd like to see some logical talk about about concise points good/bad on a movie? I don't know... That's a novel idea.
Or possibly someone who can come up with a little more creativity than just saying "can't wait to see this". Why not tell me why you can't wait to see this? Why not tell me why you are pro/con the idea of the movie anything other than "can't wait to see this". Reminds me of being on a date, and asking what she likes to do, and the only response you get is "Oh, I like stuff".
- typicalusername, on 02/14/2008, -1/+2Maybe because I'd like to see some logical talk about about concise points good/bad on a movie? I don't know... That's a novel idea.
- TobiasParker, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4Dude. It is a Crystal skull not a pearl skull.
- typicalusername, on 02/14/2008, -1/+2Man, that's a good one. I don't understand how diggers could digg you down for that!
- RobotLeAwesome, on 02/14/2008, -3/+0I hate everything about you.
- VinceNoir, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2I'm sure the feeling is mutual.
- br0ck, on 02/14/2008, -1/+5Why do you hang out in movie trailer threads when you so vehemently hate one of the only two logical reactions to a trailer (do want to see/don't want to see)?
- licoricewhip, on 02/14/2008, -1/+3No
- bbardlbradd, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2I would usually agree with you, but this is Indiana Jones we're talking about. It's like, when fat people eat pizza, you know that you can't criticize b/c c'mon, it's pizza, everyone eats pizza like they're fat.
- Asberry, on 02/14/2008, -4/+5You are brave so I will dig you, but know that you will be buried by a tsunami of Indy fanboys.
- Severys, on 02/14/2008, -15/+184I'm probably going to get dugg down for this but it looked a bit heavy on the CG side for my liking. Looking back now, part of the joy and charm of the original Indy films was that they were old school in the way they shot the special effects (well they had to be). The trailer looks a little cartoony and gag ridden for my liking. Hope I'm wrong.
- LJRod82, on 02/14/2008, -0/+18Yeah it does look a little weird on certain shots, but give them more time. The CG isn't even done yet. A lot of the time when a studio wants a trailer out at a certain time, certain shots are rendered in a low resolution pass. Sometimes those shots are re-rendered without lighting and shaders so they look insanely out of place when they're composited over the live action plate. Those pillars look a bit rough, but they'll look a lot sharper in the movie.
- Aerdan, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3I saw the moments you were talking about, but I remember Spielberg saying how they were still keeping real effects as the focus and doing as little CG as possible. Ford's own stunts + Blanchett are going to make this movie legendary!
- aoru, on 02/14/2008, -5/+15I agree and think this should of been made using claymation. Screw 25 years of technological advances.
- postalblowfish7, on 02/14/2008, -1/+6"progress" has different definitions for everyone.
- bmarc, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3I agree, was sitting there thinking "if they are going to use so many cg scenes at least make them look believable" some of the lighting when Ford was doing his moves looked hella blue screen material.
- dwninjungleland, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2dugg for the yay
- itsmikey, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1If it weren't for Stephen Spielberg's direction, I would consider this film completely hopeless.
We'll see. I have a feeling it will be a very pleasant surprise. - Thex1138, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Well it's still kind of necessary in this life of cinema.. I think he said he was shooting with 70mm and not digital...but probably shooting with both so that and minor amendments can be made in the cutting room... also the dubbing can be done in sync with the actors...there were no re-shoots either..
- banido, on 02/14/2008, -1/+5woo-hoo !

- danwallace, on 02/14/2008, -16/+356Shia LaBeouf? Are you ***** me?
Harrison Ford: Let's go kid!
Shia LaBeouf: nononononononononononononononononono- moocow1452, on 02/14/2008, -6/+94Get this guy an internet!
- timewarp424, on 02/14/2008, -8/+11You summed up perfectly, Shia's acting ability. lol.
- protodon, on 02/14/2008, -5/+18I hate him. He's like the new Ben Savage. And seriously "nononononono" is in every movie he's ever been in!
- JPOOPOO, on 02/15/2008, -3/+2No, it really hasn't. You just hate him because you're jealous hes living the dream life and your stuck commenting on Indiana Jones IV Trailer! on digg.
To sum it up, Shia LeBeouf = Epic Win.- Destinatus, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Epic Win? That's slightly inaccurate.
- JPOOPOO, on 02/15/2008, -3/+2No, it really hasn't. You just hate him because you're jealous hes living the dream life and your stuck commenting on Indiana Jones IV Trailer! on digg.

He seems to think speaking (or yelling) lines while making faces is acting.- goomba323, on 02/14/2008, -1/+18Yeah because acting is a whole lot more than speaking lines while making faces.
- StusGhost, on 02/14/2008, -14/+79The kid is brilliant. I don't now what you people are talking about. And every average to below average looking digg user (99%) should applaud Hollywood's attempt at making the everyman (Shia) a sex symbol, who gets the hottest girls (i.e. "Transformers") so that the most recent population of hot girls will be socially programed to want to date us. Thank you!
- Solis, on 02/14/2008, -9/+2Are you serious? You think he's average looking? I'd say he's well into what a female would consider "hot" range. The guy is by no means only "average" looking.

- markross, on 02/14/2008, -4/+9Man, don't you see it? Shia's being brought in to reboot the whole damn thing... They want someone to take the reins from Ford and make new movies and more money... Hate to tell them, but Shia is no Harrison Ford.
- JonesJohnson, on 02/14/2008, -5/+4I heard he was going out with Rihanna. She's kinda attractive. Oh wait, she has a massive forehead. MASSIVE.
- TheShom, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3Actually he broke up with her. I dunno if it was the reflections of the sun on her 5-head.

- jmaxwell, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Don't know what you are talking about. I loved him in Even Stevens and he was not too bad in Transformers either.
- PrincessSalami, on 02/15/2008, -1/+1I know when I saw Shia LaBeouf and the amount of CGI; I thought: " Oh Wow I Didnt know Michael Bay was directing Indiana Jones 4 :( "
- hiroyukibatosai, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1that was amazing.
- radink360, on 02/14/2008, -2/+5Im excited about this flick for sure. It's going to be awesome! one of the best movie series ever made.

- myotive, on 02/14/2008, -6/+16Hummm....
That's all I've got. I'm not gonna get wrapped up in the hype. I love the Indiana Jones saga, but I won't let another Lethal Weapon 4, or Aliens 4, or Rambo 4 happen to me. I just can't!!!- twitchr, on 02/14/2008, -2/+7What?? Rambo 4 ruled! WAY better then the third one...
- Veretax, on 02/14/2008, -2/+10There already was a Lethal Weapon 4, had Chris Rock in it, I loved it :D
- bjs3171, on 02/14/2008, -1/+7it's gonna be more like Die Hard 4. Good old STUNT driven action movie, with just some CG polish for good measure. atleast I hope

It was the epitome of a summer blockbuster: fun, entertaining, and full of action. And I hope Indy 4 is the same - TypeEE, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1I loved die hard 4 as well.

- NaughtyMonkey, on 02/14/2008, -1/+4Four Aliens movies? Hmm, I only remember Alien and Aliens. ;)
- whisperedlie, on 02/14/2008, -2/+2Alien 4 sucked, indeed. But I will punch you in the throat (or politely disagree) about your opinion of Rambo 4.
- myotive, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Well...I'll let you disagree. But instead of punching me in the throat, can you at least give me the courtesy of fashioning your own knife out of truck leaf spring and giving me the bloody death I deserve? :)

- goldenhearted, on 02/14/2008, -3/+40Indiana Jones theme kicking in really told me that the charm of the series is still present and strong in this installment.
With that said, the series was my childhood. I wasn't born when the first 3 movies made their respective theatrical releases but I watched all 3 on VHS and became a big fan ever since.
Now come this May 22, I finally get to see what my childhood hero is like on the big screen doing what he does best, kicking ass while doing part-time teaching.

- aajjcckk, on 02/14/2008, -26/+4Alright fannyboys, calm down.
No offence to Ford, he's a film legend, but he sure moves like a 60-something year old, like a pensioner doing an action movie. Now I know all you sad ***** will digg me down just for that alone, for disrespecting Ford, but if you look at his movements they're exaggerated and cliched - like an old man compensating for his lack of agility. It's to be expected of course, and I'm sure the movie will be great, but I think the earlier films, when Ford still had his physical fluidity were better, and movements not so forced.
Incidentally, you could see the same sort of thing when Arnie did the last Terminator, and I don't hold out high hopes for old man Stallone in the latest Rambo.
Note to self: old people shouldn't do action roles in films. Get them to serve tea or something ;-)- zaklampert, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5The character is old.
- zimbra, on 02/14/2008, -0/+7And the point with Indy in all the films is that he isn't superhuman or even particularly tough, he gets the crap beaten out of him all the time - but he never gives up.
- Grimdotdotdot, on 02/14/2008, -1/+2Of course he's superhuman - if he wasn't then swinging on that whip would have torn off his arms, and crashing through the window of the following truck would have probably decapitated him.
Who cares? It looks awesome :)
- Grimdotdotdot, on 02/14/2008, -1/+2Of course he's superhuman - if he wasn't then swinging on that whip would have torn off his arms, and crashing through the window of the following truck would have probably decapitated him.
- typicalusername, on 02/14/2008, -4/+3Don't get someone started on how old people get all candy ass as they get older, (like removing guns from ET, for example). Old people are ***** pansies. The only thing good about getting old is that you get some discounts at the buffet, that's it. Most old people listen to the same ***** old music, and don't get any new stuff. Everything about "old" just sucks ass. Even old actors.

Also, needs A LOT more Sean Connery.- scfcats, on 02/14/2008, -0/+6I can look past the overused CG, but I can't forgive the lack of Sean Connery. I was really hoping for some Marcus and Sallah too. I guess that would just be Last Crusade: Extended Edition though.

- FXPooky, on 02/14/2008, -0/+11They tried to get Connery but he refused since he's retired.
Original movies were full of matte paintings though, so it only makes sense to do it in CG today.- thedinomeister, on 02/14/2008, -2/+3at least we were looking at something tangible...CGI on the other hand is not so tangible---it's non existent, and it SHOWS.

Long live real action films with real explosions and stunts. I will be watching this film though.- RobotLeAwesome, on 02/14/2008, -0/+0yeah i saw a lot of cgi whips right there
- kuuhaku, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1well, being that Harrison Ford is about 150 yrs old, i think it deserves a pass.
- ccL1, on 02/14/2008, -2/+62For those of you who are writing this one off, at least watch it before you do. People bashed Batman Begins before it came out, and then they loved it. They bashed Casino Royale (the latest one) before it came out, and then they loved it. Same for Transformers. Geez, haven't you learned your lesson yet? Sure, it could be the worst movie of all time, but at least save your judgement until AFTER you've seen the movie.
- postalblowfish7, on 02/14/2008, -12/+2i still bash batman begins. ***** kung-fu training and bat-hummers.
- RetlawST, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2I agree, I preferred the cod pieces the size of melons and a mad-genius played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
- postalblowfish7, on 02/15/2008, -1/+1i actually just prefer the first tim burton film. every single other batman movie (including returns) can suck my big fat *****.

- postalblowfish7, on 02/14/2008, -5/+12i don't know why you're being dugg down. are there people who actually thought Michael Bay's Transformers was any level of "good"??
- Smills, on 02/14/2008, -2/+4I liked it, though I have always liked movies with retarded amounts of CGI. Assuming it it good CGI of course.

- TheShom, on 02/14/2008, -3/+2What the hell did u expect? Ppl dressed up around dollhouses like those old school Power Rangers shows? I think it was a great flick. And stop bashing Michael Bay dammit, he's actually a pretty good director, i actually enjoyed "The Island"
- Abaddon1125, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2While I did enjoy Transformers, merely because it was exactly the kind of movie I was expecting it to be, the Island is by no means a "good" flick. Seriously.

- UnkelJethro, on 02/14/2008, -6/+1Oh you, you're so just, defending those movies that can not defend themselves. God bless you for standing up for this movie, you've certainly changed my opinion on things. It's reasons like this that I go onto digg -- you can't get this whiny parental preachiness on fark.
And Transformers? You sir/madam, are an idiot. - jordanlgta, on 02/14/2008, -1/+5Batman Begins was phenomenal. Casino Royale was good, but way overrated. Transformers was just fun but wasn't great.
