- 0U8I2, on 05/21/2008, -1/+95I think the Telegraph needs a fact checker. They have the swordsman scene as happening in Temple of Doom.
- tEhKewleSt, on 05/21/2008, -2/+52"3. The famous scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom where Indy shoots the man dramatically wielding a scimitar was improvised by Harrison Ford. It is rumoured he was suffering from piles and didn't want to do the extended fight scene that was planned."
That was Raiders Of The Ark - dugg down for inaccuracy - duggtodeath, on 05/21/2008, -6/+53IMDB has all the trivia already listed. All Indy fans know this stuff already.
- Jrr6415sun, on 05/21/2008, -6/+45I'm glad it says 10 facts you may not know instead of 10 fact you don't know. I hate when the title assumes I don't know something.
- h4mx0r, on 05/21/2008, -8/+26Holy *****, rambo and Indy shared the same horse? That makes them in common, like, like...
Indiana Rambo! Holy *****! - bobalien, on 05/21/2008, -1/+18i don't know... I get my facts about the American government from a UK newspaper
- jjpertusch, on 05/21/2008, -0/+16thats true that there are two scenes, but "the" gun scene with the guy waving the sword has got to be the one from Raiders.
- chrisbasham, on 07/22/2008, -3/+17No, I think it was in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Indy was chasing after Miriam, while she was hiding in weaved baskets, while the swordsman and his posse tried to take out Indy.

http://www.theindyexperience.com/films/raiders_tri ... - Denneval, on 05/21/2008, -1/+12#11. Harrison Ford wants his family back.
- slantyeyed, on 05/21/2008, -0/+10there IS a scene in Temple of Doom with another swordsman, BUT Indy goes to shoot the guy but finds out his gun is GONE (a little comic homage the original scene in Raiders) so Indy just runs.
- Gridl0ck, on 05/21/2008, -2/+12#11: We found the IMDB Trivia section
- FearlessFreep, on 05/21/2008, -2/+11Knew all but the "Indiana Smith" one.. most are old and well known
- skoles, on 05/21/2008, -0/+9Indiana was the name of his dog.
- BamaMac, on 05/21/2008, -0/+8He never chased a woman named Miriam. Her name is Marion, but you are right in saying that the "famous" gun scene is from Raiders.
- usingpond, on 05/21/2008, -0/+8This. This is the right one. The original was in Raiders, but there was a second one in Temple that was a parody of itself.
- ricecold, on 05/21/2008, -0/+7Nerdy...and wrong
- christor, on 05/21/2008, -3/+10"Tom Selleck was George Lucas's original choice for the role but had to turn it down due to his commitment to the US TV series Magnum PI."
I actually think there's far too much Lucas-bashing around Digg. But... I have to admit that it is becoming increasingly clear that he just doesn't have great instincts with regard to performance and drama. Makes one wonder if the original Darabont script for Indy IV, which Darabont said everyone but Lucas thought was great, really would have been better. - pattyman5000, on 05/21/2008, -3/+10#12 Harrison Ford had sex with everyone on the set.
- adml_shake, on 05/21/2008, -0/+7The post that Indy and Marion were tied to at the end of Raiders has R2-D2's dome on top of it. I thought that one would have made the list for sure...
- aenima987, on 05/21/2008, -2/+9#18 In the Temple of Doom they drive past a club called Club Obi Wan in Bangkok
- orenshk, on 05/21/2008, -0/+6Exactly, because he does it first in Raiders, then when the guy comes at him in Temple of Doom, he's all full of himself and smiles and reaches for his gun, but then the gun isn't there.
- ByrcheWroot, on 05/21/2008, -0/+6Probably. I don't think a lot of the audience would have cared for seeing Indy in prison though.
- inactive, on 05/21/2008, -1/+710% of the dialog in Raiders of the Lost Ark was the same as in The Empire Strikes Back :|
- shark72, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5Is there a RIGHT end of a propeller?
- tungsai, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5Does anybody have a screen shot of the Hieroglyphic R2-D2 and C-3P0?
"Threepeeio! Shut down all the garbage compactors on the detention level!" - ICSU, on 05/21/2008, -2/+7You must be riot at the parties.
- JABro, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5The reason Lucas wanted Selleck was because he didn't want Harrison Ford to be associated with all his movies. If I recall correctly, he said "I don't want him to become my Bob De Niro" referencing Martin Scorsese's relationship with De Niro.
- gordonp, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4Dugg for "piles"
- inactive, on 05/21/2008, -1/+5That had to be the manliest horse ever.
- inajeep, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4Publicity inserted as news in the media.
- pennvneff, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4Club Obi Wan is the name of the club Indy and Willie Scott escape from at the beginning of the film. And it was Shanghai not Bangkok.
- punkcat, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4or a pirate.
- PleaseJustDie, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3Temple of doom was the one that didn't have Nazis.
- johnnysaucepn, on 05/21/2008, -1/+4Yeah, despite Temple of Doom being a prequel to Raiders.
- punkcat, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3movie maybe, harrison never.
- allaboutdatiki, on 05/21/2008, -6/+9mmmm .... forbidden chilled monkey brains ... glllll ....
- DavidS9, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3Fact check: he had the Flu and a 100 degree fever watch the behind the scenes for the movie they explain it there.
- DarkSideWRX, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3The tail number on the get-away plane in "Raiders" is R2-3PO
- gordonp, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2Here's that R2/3PO hieroglyphic:
http://tinyurl.com/4xrmx3 - smek2, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2"1. Tom Selleck was George Lucas's original choice for the role but had to turn it down due to his commitment to the US TV series Magnum PI." -- Who doesn't know that story already?
"3. The famous scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom where Indy shoots the man dramatically wielding a scimitar was improvised by Harrison Ford. It is rumoured he was suffering from piles and didn't want to do the extended fight scene that was planned." -- same here, though it was food posing which made Harrison sick and he didn't improvise the scene but rather suggested it.
"6. Harrison Ford got his distinctive chin scar in a car crash in his 20s." -- don't know what this has to do with "Indiana Jones, Behind The Scenes Facts"
"7. R2-D2 and C3PO, the robots from Star Wars, can be seen in the hieroglyphics in the Well of Souls in Raiders of the Lost Ark." -- most know this already, pictures of this circulated the internet way back. - OnlyGirlOnDigg, on 05/21/2008, -1/+3You're all washed up and are going to get dugg down like hell.
- topher1078, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2And Pat Roach also appeared in Last Crusade - he was walking out to the blimp to catch the Jones', and he filmed a scene in that movie that didn't make it into the final film.
- Exbzurq, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2Its a trap.
- buckygrad, on 05/21/2008, -2/+4Since it was in English, I would say about 10% of the dialog is the same in any movie.
- isamuelson, on 05/21/2008, -0/+29. Steven Spielberg and George Lucas play missionaries in the airport at the start of Temple of Doom.
Dan Akroyd is Earl Weber, the gentlemen helping Indy, Willie and Shorty onto the plane after they escape from Club Obi Wan. - fitzy, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2Also the actor that dies twice in Raiders is incorrect. He died by the propeller, but not in the bar fight, he was shot by Indy.
- Tyrghast, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2I like you mom and remember her long time ago.
- inactive, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1He was shot in the bar fight
