- DigitalMuse, on 12/10/2007, -1/+136That was awesome. THIS is why I read Digg.
- swanny89, on 12/10/2007, -2/+113They missed the Buzz Lightyear toy on the floor of the dentist's office in Finding Nemo.
- Munkey106, on 12/10/2007, -14/+116Wow...that dude has too much time on his hands!
- DeviantDragon, on 12/10/2007, -1/+89One I really didn't notice and appreciate is the Incredibles comic in Finding Nemo. That was a great little egg.
- PhrosTT, on 12/10/2007, -1/+77in general the pizza truck thing seems like BS in incredibles and ratatouille...
BUT, given the amount of other ridiculous details this guy knows about, i'll take his word for it. - an8kid, on 12/10/2007, -3/+70how the hell can anyone say thats the pizza planet truck???
- jmpeagle, on 12/10/2007, -1/+64I'm sorry but I don't see the pizza delivery truck in either of the "incredibles" pics they post, what am I missing?
- tidu, on 12/10/2007, -4/+51yeah that reflection in the bus DEFINITELY looks like the Pizza Planet Truck. now that reminds me, I just have to watch Toy Story again.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -0/+38It doesn't mention Linguini's Incredible's boxers in Ratatouille..
- TremorX, on 12/10/2007, -2/+39I didn't realize that playing games makes one an expert in the animation industry.
- ThreeDee912, on 12/10/2007, -1/+37Or he works at Pixar... Who else would be able to tell that messy blur is a Pizza Planet car?
- xGrill, on 12/10/2007, -0/+33I would too if I wasnt reading digg all day and night
- Danoz, on 12/10/2007, -1/+23Wall-e looks very similar to Johnny Five. Hes got the same head and the same tracks. Very similar body too. Anyone agree?
- mrmacky, on 12/10/2007, -0/+21Photoshopped, the reflection is all wrong
- rexCo, on 12/10/2007, -2/+20So including references to your past projects aren't easter eggs by your standards?
- optimus008, on 12/10/2007, -1/+18People form Pixar are regular speakers at my School. And there are many more Easter eggs that he told us about, and yes they did it on purpose.
1.The Pizza Planet truck is in all the move since Toy Story
2. There is Nimo caviar in Ratatouille its in the Pantry
3.In every movie they hint about up coming movies by sneaking in something in (Ratatouille when Linguini comes home for the first time a cockroach runs away after he turns on the lights and a dog's shadow can also be seen these are sup-post to have reference to up and coming movies, but that all they said in the presentation.) - pbuschma, on 12/10/2007, -0/+16And I always thought that the whole idea of human advancement is to have more and more time on one hands to do what makes you happy and inspires.
- NightOwl4, on 12/10/2007, -0/+15i picked up on some of these myself...but its amazing how pixar does this. I applaud.
- ixicoolaixi, on 12/10/2007, -0/+13It's like watching LOST all over again.
- snoozevmw, on 12/10/2007, -1/+13next pixar movie will feature a 'resemblance' to the digg icon
- MrObjectional, on 12/10/2007, -0/+12I can tell by the pixels.
- llamagorama, on 12/10/2007, -0/+12Your'e right, it's really hard to make a new ball.
- viiiirus10101, on 12/10/2007, -1/+12interesting read.
- Trax91, on 12/10/2007, -0/+9It's the thing that is blurring at the left. Supposedly.
- inactive, on 12/10/2007, -1/+9actually "wasn't" is correct there
- NinjaBoy, on 12/10/2007, -0/+7You always need a mirror.
- Dracomantis, on 12/10/2007, -1/+9Your a moron.....
- bawpcwpn, on 12/10/2007, -0/+7Jim Hill definitely doesn't work at Pixar. A lot of people over there don't like him because he is known for his Pixar bashing posts about how craptacular the box office numbers are for the last two Pixar films and how Wall Street Investors aren't going to be happy. Never mind the fact that Ratatouille has grossed over $500 mill worldwide. He's come crawling back though.
- DoTheFandango, on 12/10/2007, -0/+7Were those Incredible boxers? I watched it in HD and it just looked like red and yellow to me.
- darkmotion, on 12/10/2007, -1/+8No it's not. Pixar invests an enormous amount of time into perfecting details. They love adding little twists and tiddly bits to their stuff.
- f4nt0m4s, on 12/10/2007, -0/+6Stanley Kubrick leaves a couple neat easter eggs in his films as well, this type of stuff isn't too uncommon. Seinfeld has superman or a superman reference in ever episode.
- CapeKid, on 12/10/2007, -0/+5I noticed one more, another book on the bookshelf in Toy Story is called "Tin Toy," same as the name of the short.
- RikkiTikki, on 12/10/2007, -0/+5Isn't there a Sully (Monsters Inc.) doll in one of the movies too?
- roosterjm2k2, on 12/10/2007, -0/+5Which is all the more reason to believe him...
- lintmonkey, on 12/10/2007, -2/+7Dugg for irony.
- darkmotion, on 12/10/2007, -0/+5Pixar doesn't cut corners with that stuff. They have whole departments dedicated to nailing the visual style of the film. Even in the newer Toy Story movies, they revamped everything: re-modeled, re-rigged, retextured etc. It's also better for them to do so, because keeping old assets would just bog down the pipeline.
- gophernut, on 12/10/2007, -1/+6He didn't mention my favorite Pixar easter egg. In Toy Story, the toolbox that traps Buzz Lightyear under the milk crate is made by Binford, the fictional company that Tim Allen (Also the voice of Buzz) works for on Home Improvement
- rupprupp29, on 12/10/2007, -0/+5no it aren't
- IllBeBack, on 12/10/2007, -0/+4And from having seen a number of shops in my time...
blah freakin' blah - SquigglyP, on 12/10/2007, -0/+4They don't put that crap in for us. They put that crap in for themselves. It's fun for them, they get to screw around and try to find some cool way to make self references and be clever. Some of us might think it's neat, others might think it's lame, but i doubt they give a crap one way or the other. It's like Hitchcock doing walk-ons for all of his movies. Most of the time you never even notice it unless he makes it obvious. They just do it for ***** and giggles. It has nothing to do at all with budget.
- Armitage2k, on 12/10/2007, -0/+4Also, all the books behind Woody in that image are Pixar Shorts
- Matri, on 12/11/2007, -0/+3Have you looked in a mirror lately?
- SquigglyP, on 12/10/2007, -0/+3It's true that it probably does save them maybe .01% of their development costs to add in that one extra car or little character into the background, but some of the additions go beyond just re-using the same model. The Cars version of the Pizza Truck, for instance, is an animated character, not just a truck.
- nerdherder, on 12/10/2007, -6/+9Watch Pixar movies much?
- Tawney, on 12/10/2007, -0/+3That was, by far, the most enjoyable article I've read on Digg in a looong time.
- drewfer, on 12/11/2007, -0/+2As I am friends with John Lasseter and his family, I know of one other secret. In the bug city scene of Bugs Life, the names of John's kids are seen on some of the buildings, namely his son PJ on the bottle.
- sparkalex, on 12/10/2007, -0/+2In Cars, there is a "Welcome to Emeryville" road sign. Pixar is based in Emeryville, CA
- Ellsass, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2I found it refreshingly simple and easy to read.
- inactive, on 12/10/2007, -0/+2yeah, i agree. When i saw the trailer I thought they are making a animation version of Johnny Five.
- yonas, on 12/10/2007, -0/+2That was truly awesome. Thanks for posting.
