- Xondar, on 08/04/2008, -0/+17Awesome way of visualizing large amounts of information. He does the same for visits to the website, Reddit has a huge amount, but Digg has none.

- busterti, on 08/04/2008, -1/+10a graphical way to follow box office trends.
- xach, on 08/04/2008, -2/+8Thanks for the Digging. There goes all my bandwidth. I'll try to get some CDN fixes in place.
- realn0whereman, on 08/04/2008, -2/+8I never knew visualization had 2 Zs.... oh well digg teaches me new things every day :D
- masonreloaded, on 08/04/2008, -0/+6I hope the visualization is more impressive than your servers...
- xach, on 08/04/2008, -0/+5That will teach me to use a ten meg port for my server, and to publish a bunch of huge PNGs that get Dugg.
Should be much more responsive now. Can't wait to get my Amazon S3 bill. - zip000, on 08/04/2008, -0/+4The guy also has a pretty funny bit about the Togo banking scam spam:
http://www.xach.com/togo/ - sonar1, on 08/04/2008, -0/+4do you need me to refresh every 3 seconds to tell you when it works!?
/jk =] - boner79, on 08/04/2008, -0/+4Anyone else notice that the very last highest grossing movie on the 2008 chart is "Dark Knight" starring Christian Bale and the first lowest grossing movie in the 1988 chart is "Empire of the Sun".....starring Christian Bale.
- Ellrick, on 08/04/2008, -0/+4Wow, maybe the worst comment ever.
- zakharm, on 08/04/2008, -0/+3Check out the Dark Night opening -- everything else drops like a rock.
- kaleesh, on 08/04/2008, -0/+3*vizualization you mean
- falafelkiosken, on 08/04/2008, -0/+3Titanic - $36M, The Dark Knight - $158M. Who said piracy is killing the movie industry?
- TheProfessional, on 08/04/2008, -0/+3Pretty much a copy of what the NYTimes did earlier this year.
- revjustin2, on 08/04/2008, -0/+3I usually, out of sheer childish spite, try not to Digg things from mrbabyman, but I didn't look to see who submitted it before I dugg this one. You win this time, mrbabyman.
- NJank, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2I want to see the 2002 graphics. didn't My Big Fat Greek Wedding stay in the top 25 for almost a full year?
yes... from release in April 19 2002 to Feb 14 2003 at 25 or better for weekend box office
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekend& ... - vilago, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2the imdb links to the movies when you click on them are useful
- DrvThruPnk, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2I knew I remembered Jurassic Park being in theaters FOREVER.
- sonar1, on 08/04/2008, -1/+3hmmm. i dont know whether to be mad at mrbabyman for stealing it or happy for making it popular so i would notice and digg such an awesome graph.
i ussually search upcomings but this one slipped by. he must of submitted it around noon, when most diggers are asleep. - xach, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2Should be much better now.
- revjustin2, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2It's also a good example of how this particular visualization technique and be used. This would be a helpful way to analyze all kinds of data over time in relation to other, similar, sets of data.
- darthjure, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2I think most of the new data visualization techniques are crap, but this is the first one that acually is clear and easy to read. Very nicely done. I hope to see it used elsewhere.
- ShooterMcGavin, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1This is exactly what came to mind when I saw this link.
- Xondar, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Normally I never Digg anything from the thief MrStupidAss, but in this case I made an exception because I saw the guy who made it posted it on Digg and it never went anywhere.
I dugg the original as well. - masonreloaded, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Cool, much better now - it is actually pretty cool, especially when you see something like Iron Man next to Speed Racer and see how awful that movie bombed...
- NJank, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1submitted over the weekend, you should know better. and really, what's up with the oh-so-informative description.
- ekdevdas, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1This is great!
- SarahC, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1I wish I knew, I can't figure it out.
- bubbameister33, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Vizualization. Ha!
- revjustin2, on 08/04/2008, -1/+1LOLcat-speak infects your brain. Beware.
- inactive, on 08/04/2008, -1/+1Very cool!
- mweflen, on 08/04/2008, -1/+1Meh.
- supertaliman, on 08/04/2008, -2/+2Awesome
- revjustin2, on 08/04/2008, -1/+1Crap--I sooo didn't want to respond to that comment, but rather, the thread.
- pciulla, on 08/04/2008, -2/+2what the hell am i looking at
- inactive, on 08/04/2008, -1/+1I much prefer the NYT infographic.
On a related note (information interfaces and movies), I shared an email conversation with one guy who has done the User Interfaces on some of the biggest movies (the sort of info-porn that you see on the computer screens). You can check out a show reel of his work here: http://www.coleran.com/ and you might be surprised at how many awesome films he has done work for. Basically, in my opinion, he made the best info-porn in most of my favorite movies (not including Iron Man, unfortunately).
Anyways, I was a bit sad to find out that he "gave up the film stuff a year ago for a real job [, doing actual software implementations]." Then again, it would be great to see better user interfaces in the software that we can actually use. - retrovertigo, on 08/04/2008, -3/+2That's pretty neat!
- SeaweedWater, on 08/04/2008, -2/+1Kill yourself.
- metallikop, on 08/04/2008, -3/+2This was just on Digg last week. /sigh
- digital0verdose, on 08/04/2008, -3/+1I used to have markers that drew squiggly lines like that. EYES CAN MAKES CHARTS!
- smaier, on 08/04/2008, -7/+5So what's the point?
