- langdonalger, on 08/15/2008, -4/+74so Riddler is exactly the same as the Joker except he draws a different symbol?
- kurupttek, on 08/15/2008, -4/+62On the front page twice today
- NathanielJ, on 08/15/2008, -2/+37It would have been better if the poster actually had "BAM!" and "POW!" starbursts on it, like the thumbnail led me to believe.
- joeyvesh13, on 08/15/2008, -13/+37Johnny Depp would be perfect!
- whitelights, on 08/15/2008, -4/+19Buried for redundancy, sorry.
- sidiooo, on 08/15/2008, -14/+25this is already on digg idiot
- fadeedaf, on 08/15/2008, -1/+12Isn't this over there in the top 10 digg's at this very moment?
- JeddHampton, on 08/15/2008, -4/+11The movie is good enough to shatter records without a death. There is no need to degrade the movie by suggesting Heath Ledger's death made the movie so popular. His performance was nothing short of amazing.
I rarely see movies multiple times in theaters. This one I've seen twice already and am willing to see two more times. The fact that this is the last performance of Ledger's hasn't even crossed my mind until the past few days. - hammerpants, on 08/15/2008, -1/+8Die.
- thestranger, on 08/15/2008, -6/+12I have said it before.
I have not had the chance to see the scope of his acting abilities, but Rainn Wilson (Dwight) could make an awesome Riddler.
I also agree with using the Long Halloween as inspiration would work very well with Two-Face and Riddler. - groo68, on 08/15/2008, -0/+6The Riddler is more a mystery person, while the joker is chaos. but they are very similar.
- OldGhosts, on 08/15/2008, -2/+8Twice in one day? BURIED
- RobotKeaton, on 08/15/2008, -1/+7Well, Bale,Ledger, and Eckhardt were also respectable actors when they were cast. Other than The Office, Rainn pretty much sucks.
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -1/+6Is that the Zodiac cipher on the left?
- ModernDayDarwin, on 08/15/2008, -0/+5It was talked about this morning. All it's doing is turning The Joker into The Riddler. There's no real creativity there other than changing a smiley face into a question mark. If you're going to go with The Riddler, then look at the comics, see what makes him tick, and then...well....then sit back and let Nolan do the same, because let's face it, only he could do it afterall.
- cadmiumpaint, on 08/15/2008, -0/+4i agree. i think thats the only way you could go about bringing the riddler into this. the days of over the top villians in silly jumpsuits is over as long as Nolan is in charge.
- citizenchan, on 08/15/2008, -0/+4Well done. But, imo, the style is too much like the Joker ad campaign. I imagine they'll change the style to fit the Riddler more.
- mysn239, on 08/15/2008, -0/+4 A hole
- wild, on 08/15/2008, -1/+5Its executed well, but conceptually poor. If they use the Riddler in the next film, he won't be another version of the Joker, and he certainly wouldn't use the same rhetoric. ("Where is the bat man?")
I hope they use the Riddler, but they make him a sophisticated and reserved fellow with a quiet menace to him. A proper English gent in a bowler hat and just a question mark pin on his lapel. Jude Law or Ian Bettany would be good for a role like that. - chubbybubba, on 08/15/2008, -5/+9Whoever is making these fake batman posters has some real skills. Just like the "Why so Serious" poster. If he/she's not already in the advertising business someone needs to hire em.
- mysn239, on 08/15/2008, -0/+4The more you take away, the larger it grows. What is it?
- icurnvs, on 08/15/2008, -0/+4Yeah you did...
edited to include robinthehood. - 1longtime, on 08/15/2008, -0/+4I can't think of a single reason that would make Rainn Wilson an "awesome" Riddler.
- langdonalger, on 08/15/2008, -0/+4Yeah they are pretty similar as far as concept, but I was referring more to the aesthetic. The griminess, like he has been using that newspaper as a bathroom floormat for a month.
I think a more put together and organized/clean Riddler would be nice. - chadsterrr, on 08/15/2008, -4/+7Wasn't Vicki Vale a photographer? or am I crazy?
- Frost35, on 08/15/2008, -2/+5Yes, yes it is
http://digg.com/movies/The_Dark_Knight_Returns_Fan ... - icurnvs, on 08/15/2008, -6/+9Come on, read before you flame.
If you'll notice, this story was submitted about 4 hours before the other one that made the front page. - skidooer, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3It takes considerable time to produce a movie
- donkevin, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3Oh man, he'd totally make a great Batman Villain!
... oh, wait ... - frotastic, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3anyone else think the poster was the bam kapow pic. i sure did since this has already been POSTED!
- tedrock, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2all you see is his hands!
- feureau, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2MORE ADAM WEST!
- NathanielJ, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2Yup: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Zodiac340cipher ...
It's just flipped and mirrored. - robinthehood, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2God why doesn't every person here on digg just direct their own batman 3 movie and save Chris Nolan the trouble. Seems all of you seem to know who will be the villian, how it should be, etc.
everyone just stfu and see how it plays out when he decides to do the 3rd movie. - Protoss, on 08/15/2008, -1/+3How about Raul Duke doing the Riddler?
- dreicher, on 08/15/2008, -2/+4"psychotic, obsessive-compulsive type of vibe". Am I crazy or would this be a perfect role for that Patrick Bateman guy from American Psycho.
- Kohaxx, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2The Riddler and the Joker are both two very different entities, sure they both do the symbols, but the Joker is chaos while the Riddler is an obsessive compulsive genious. The Joker gets a kick out of explosions and murder, the Riddler is generally in it for the money or the challenge of unmasking Batman. The current form of the Riddler is often scene as a detective who can make sense out of complex clues left behind by Gotham's criminals. He has real potential, my only concern is that by himself he's not an evil enough villain to give the audience the chills that the Joker gave us.
- megamod, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2and Riddler apparently has tattoos on his hand. (what do they say btw?)
- kermithefrogand, on 08/15/2008, -1/+3Jedd! The movie is still great, but it has replay value cause while the joker is out blowing things up and slamming peoples head's into pencils, in the back of the audiences mind, they are enjoying that heath has died and are still able to see him act..dead!
- whahaa, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2dugg for the Ian Bettany idea. great choice that i didn't consider, and am now hoping comes to be.
- tehrob, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2the hands are mirrors of one another
- sig331, on 08/15/2008, -1/+3Damn it, quit taking ***** off the front page, putting it on your own site, and reposting it. Hell, you didn't even wait for it to fall off the front page.
And if you are not going to post a link to the original you could at least give credit to /Film, where you stole it from. - bknoll22, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2Although I like Will Ferrel this is not a good role for him
- robinthehood, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1Trust me, you'd be doing me a service getting me away from all the *****.
- jsuther, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1The Nothing
- coldfusion1970, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1I disagree. Ledgers performance was fantastic.
- BIGMEX, on 08/16/2008, -0/+1She was a Reporter, but yes she had a camera and that's part of the reason that Batman took her back to the Batcave.
- MetalGear7, on 08/16/2008, -0/+1Deh Rideler
- dlberk, on 08/15/2008, -3/+4buried for re-post
- WonderBoy55, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1Jim Carrey for Riddler!
