I Love It When A Plan Totally Doesn't Come Together
io9.com — It happens to the best dashing science fiction hero: You come up with a preternaturally clever plan to stop the bad guys, involving a totally cunning bit of MacGyvering or hustle... and it totally fails.

- mrtrevin, on 07/16/2008, -0/+8Where's Han Solo? “Had a slight weapons malfunction, but everything's perfectly alright now. We're fine, we're all fine, here, now, thank you. How are you?”
- MrFurious2k, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1They should have called this, "If you know the people, plots, and specifics of this list, you're a nerd." Still, it was well done. :)
- bwonder, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Pretty much every scheme Scooby and the gang lay out to catch the bad guy... never works as planned... but he always winds up with a toilet seat or something that incapacitates him to the point that Velma can easily remove his mask. Every episode.

- PhoenixTril, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4With Stargate SG-1, every other episode seemed to have a plan that failed miserably, but it always worked out in the end.

Now that I think about it, are there any shows where everything works?- Radan, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2That is pretty much what differs a TV series from a regular movie. In a movie the hero usually fails maximum two times and then he succeeds which makes the movie end. A TV series however, the heroes never succeeds, which makes the show go on, and on, and on, and on, and on, until the channel pulls to show from air because of low ratings.
- jnordb, on 07/16/2008, -1/+1uh yeah...the A-team, the Dukes of Hazzard to name a couple....
- 4bit, on 07/28/2008, -0/+2The A-Team always screwed up the first plan, got locked in a closet with a bunch of welding equipment, and then fixed it on the second pass.
Dukes of Hazzard? Maybe. But something always had to go wrong for Boss and Roscoe to chase them.
- 4bit, on 07/28/2008, -0/+2The A-Team always screwed up the first plan, got locked in a closet with a bunch of welding equipment, and then fixed it on the second pass.
- drunkard, on 07/16/2008, -2/+1Buried for having the least descriptive sub text possible. Since I have no idea what this is about BEFORE I click any link, I can't reasonably determine if I should even care, therefore I don't care, so buried.
- Belin, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Dugg for the Doctor
The four (or more) section format of the classic Doctor really did make sure that nothing worked out right during the first 3 episodes of any story. - Tinu, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1"splodey." I love made up words that make immediate sense.
- lennybird, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3I don't get the Firefly one, teaming up with saffron was all part of the plan. They double-crossed her in the end according to plan, right?
- Conramic, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0This is depressing... from all of the movies mentioned in this article, I've only seen one of them - Alien.
...and I still don't understand the point he tries to make... :(
All aboard the Failboat. - TBITS, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1Dugg for the Doctor and Firefly.
Technically the second time they teamed up with Saffron everything went exactly as planed. - gogog0, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2dugg for A-team reference in title, i didn't read the article and don't plan on reading it
