- BoneheadFarker, on 08/13/2008, -2/+83Wait...people are pissed over Robert Downey Jr. portraying a black man, but not one peep about a pair of Wayans brothers dressed up as white chicks?
- curtisag, on 08/13/2008, -8/+73I hate political correctness. People are just looking for a way to be offended with this.
- jotate, on 08/13/2008, -2/+57Buried for suggesting Norbit was a comedy.
- ThatsMatt, on 08/13/2008, -1/+38"Norbit" is wrong for so many reasons.
- ohnoerino, on 08/13/2008, -1/+31The posters in the subway for "Norbit" made me cringe...needless to say I skipped that one.
- acmaurer, on 08/13/2008, -2/+32I absolutely LOVE "Breakfast at Tiffany's" - but I always thought Mickey Rooney's character was done in poor taste :-/
- ironeus, on 08/13/2008, -1/+31There's nothing wrong with Faye Dunaway in 'Network'. As for "The Jerk" -- it is an absolute classic!
- Sardonic2U, on 08/13/2008, -1/+29Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part I, SpaceBalls, ->:)
anything by Mel Brooks - the Man is a genius at pushing the limits. - pixelbend, on 08/13/2008, -1/+29No "non-PC love" for Blazing Saddles?
- Halgy, on 08/13/2008, -4/+30Life is Beautiful is an awesome movie. People are way too politically correct.
- dsully215, on 08/13/2008, -2/+25I can't wait to see Tropic Thunder tonight.
- cababika799, on 08/13/2008, -0/+21Does it count if we're just pissed that the Wayans Brothers made another movie?
- naner, on 08/13/2008, -3/+22I wholeheartedly disagree with the inclusion of "The Ringer" in this list. Sure, the premise was a little off-color, but Knoxville and the crew pulled it off beautifully. There's a reason they have special features on the DVD with the heads of the Special Olympics organization. The movie turned out to be a very well-done, inspiring movie with a great message.
And why the hell is "Birdcage" on this list? Did ANYONE out there think that it was offensive? A little dumb maybe, but why would it be considered offensive? - muskrattttt, on 08/13/2008, -2/+19None of these are too far...
- Daxx22, on 08/13/2008, -0/+15Well you see, ones racist, the other is satire. /s
- artfiend77, on 08/13/2008, -1/+14Especially since the only people making a big deal about it are White folk.
- Kafro, on 08/13/2008, -2/+14WHITE CHICKS

NEVER FORGET! - BuckCynnie, on 08/13/2008, -1/+11When the ***** did we get ice cream!?!?
- 22pages, on 08/13/2008, -3/+12The Ringer was a blatant ripoff of the South Park episode where Cartman does the same thing. It always angers me to see it mentioned anywhere other than a list of the least original ideas ever.
- ousthouse, on 08/13/2008, -1/+9The producers claim they went to Parker and Stone first with the idea for a movie and that they're the ones who stole the idea. I'm not sure who I believe, but the SP episode was funnier than The Ringer.
- flashback99, on 08/14/2008, -0/+8***** political correctness, there is one and only one thing that should deem whether or not something is offensive: intent.
- drmangrum, on 08/13/2008, -0/+7A BLACK sheriff?
- thepeacemaker, on 08/13/2008, -0/+7“The Lord Jehovah has given unto you these fifteen...” (his proclamation is interrupted by his dropping and shattering of one of three tablets) “Oy!...Ten! Ten Commandments! For all to obey!”
- Moses - bweltondav, on 08/13/2008, -0/+6If that's true then it's unfortunate. Typically Parker/Stone are some of the most creative and original guys in the industry. I just don't see them stealing ideas. Though I guess it's possible.
- adougherty, on 08/13/2008, -2/+8I didn't see any movies going too far in that list. Instead I saw an author being too sensitive. Claiming entertainment has to be politically correct is just one of the steps in censorship, and the social eradication of free speech.
Last summer a reality TV series ran called "On The Lot" where contestants had to write, direct and screen a movie. One of the movies depicted a retarded kid who picked up on a phrase that he though was funny, "Get a room!," and used it everywhere whether appropriate or not. The audience was rolling on the floor. But one of the judges (Carrie Fisher) lambasted the director for making such an offensive movie, and claimed that he went too far. The offensive part of it? It had a retarded kid in it. The end result was the movie got a staggering number of votes from the audience, and won.
There is a huge difference between going to far, and a critic being overly sensitive. People just need to relax a little. - darkzeroman, on 08/13/2008, -1/+7There is all this talk about negative reaction of Doweny and blackface, but where is it? Who are these people who are very angry with the movie?
- mrsammercer, on 08/13/2008, -1/+6Borat wasn't politically incorrect. It pointed out how racist and bigoted people actually are without even realizing they're bigots.
- benoitcsirois, on 08/13/2008, -2/+7Note to self: Must watch Roberto Begnini's "Life is Beautiful" once again because it's such a good film!
- elarson, on 08/13/2008, -6/+11Political correctness is a culturally acceptable, socially-mediated castration of the freedom of speech. While I'm not an advocate of racism or any form of bigotry, I do believe in symmetry. So if it is ok for a black man to dress up in white face and portray a currently acceptable stereotype of a white man (Eddie Murphy, Dave Chapelle), it should be ok for a white man to dress in black face and portray a black man thusly.
- cnot3, on 08/13/2008, -0/+5Yeah, the terrible acting and plot were way more offensive than eddie murphy in a mangina-equipped fat suit.
- dupems, on 08/13/2008, -2/+7None of those go too far. If you think they do, you need to lighten up.
- reddog093, on 08/13/2008, -0/+4"Excuse me while I whip this out."
- Mier, on 08/13/2008, -1/+5PC is all about race, gender, sex preference and just about damn near everything. If you're offended then it's not politically correct. People take themselves too damn seriously and I agree that there is a segment of the populace that just stays offended all the time. This argument all depends on who's ox is being gored and it's ***** infantile. No one should be above critique. (note critique is not slander)
- Hetman, on 08/13/2008, -1/+5Nope you just do not get it.
- CraigB12, on 08/13/2008, -0/+4I take offense to Life is Beautiful being on this list. That is one of the best movies OF ALL TIME, and mocking it as some hyperbole on the holocaust is insulting.
- bstockwell, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3Comparing Norbit and Life is Beautiful (and calling the later pol. inc.) is obscene.
Life is Beautiful doesn't deserve to be on the list. It is one of the best films ever made, and not really a comedy. - Diggnabbit, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3Where the white women at?
- metallimus, on 08/13/2008, -1/+4There's no such thing as too far. It's all or nothing. The beauty of absurd stereotypes on film is that it clearly indicates how truly absurd they are in the first place. In the long run they help to eradicate such nonsense.
- artfiend77, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3No, cause it'd probably be based on a true story anyways.
- Chainheart, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3Your rights end where others begin (not that any of the films listed threatened anyone's rights)
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -1/+4i think Robert Downey Jr. makes a good black guy.
- HAKdragon, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3He said the sheriff is near!
- MetalGear7, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3America stop being pussies....
- dafragsta, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3Political correctness is a classic case of universal acceptance of cutting off your nose to spite your face. It drives a wedge between those who would be offended or claim offense just because it breeds the notion that the words or actions are used in hate by default. Politically correctness is as bass ackwards as religious fundamentalism in politics and it serves ZERO ***** PURPOSE WHATSOEVER but to divide people and to create an undebatable sense of self-righteousness.
***** political correctness, and this is someone who has been made fun of all his childhood for being legally blind and having nystagmus which keeps my eyes in a constant state of twitchery. Political correctness draws unwanted attention to something that those who would be offended would rather not discuss at all.
Do you think a black person feels comfortable around overcompensating white people who are careful to walk on eggshells or with someone who is comfortable just being themselves? Well, maybe if that black person is Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. - jetblackz4, on 08/13/2008, -1/+4The Jerk " you mean I am going to stay this color"
One of my all time favorite movie lines. - inactive, on 08/13/2008, -1/+3I only vaguely remember some mild controversy when it was first said that Downey would be portraying a black man. I'm sure the PC crowd pictured him in the traditional blackface, but in reality, the makeup is so well done it's hard to tell.
- urbanwrit, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2The Chevy Chase and Richard Pryor SNL skit was on live television in the 70's. Good call.
- hufflepuff17, on 08/13/2008, -1/+3Either everything is ok to make fun of...or none of it.
- afruff23, on 08/13/2008, -1/+3The wisdom of an idiot. Just because you're libertarian does not mean you support Ron Paul (or politics for that matter).
- RG13, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2I was going to put an awesome Blazing Saddles quote here, but there are too many to choose from.
