- PhoenixReborn, on 02/16/2009, -3/+131Sounds like great news! A sequel to such a good series shouldn't be rushed.
- VdgX, on 02/16/2009, -1/+106Nolan gave us two great Batman movies. Let him do his thing for awhile.
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -0/+543-4 years between sequels is about right, and this is sooner that I expected for the Batman franchise
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -7/+46Wait, a Team Fortress movie? Sweet! I can see it now:
Medic: Pierce Brosnan
Heavy: Dolph Lundgren
Scout: Matt Damon
Sniper: Paul Hogan
Demo: DMX (every action movie has to have a rapper, its the law)
Engie: Tom Hanks
Spy: Daniel Craig
Soldier: R. Lee Earny
Pyro: Shia Labeauf (every action movie has to have Shia, its the law) - Zippo, on 02/16/2009, -0/+34Are we that impatient that we can't wait two years? Christ, Dark Knight just came out...
Hell, I'm surprised the new TF movie is coming out this year... considering how much work goes into the CG. - illuuu, on 02/16/2009, -0/+24As long as they do it right.
- loneraver, on 02/16/2009, -0/+16What's the big deal? It was 3 years between Batman Begins and Dark Knight
- JackPence7788, on 02/16/2009, -1/+17This article doesn't say anything about a Dark Knight sequel at all.
It just says that Chris Nolan is working on another project, not that he's doing another project and then another Bat movie. We don't even know that he's doing a third Batman movie, anyways.
If you're looking for news on the Batman franchise, this is the totally wrong article. - limbikity, on 02/16/2009, -0/+14i believe it's spelled "douche".
- Xivx, on 02/16/2009, -0/+10"Inception" is the movie that will be release "In summer 2010", not Batman....duche
- NathanCH, on 02/16/2009, -0/+9You only hate it because everyone else likes it. You're trying way too hard to be different.
- LuCiFer6, on 02/16/2009, -0/+8Yeah, I mean did anyone really expect the sequel to come out this year?
- Residents, on 02/16/2009, -0/+8What you mocking your own user name with that comment?
- BobbyMC, on 02/16/2009, -0/+7If the 3rd movie came out two years from today, it would still be slightly less time than between Begins and Dark Knight. People are either incredibly stupid and have a horrid sense of time, or no one was paying attention when Batman Begins came out.
So far he is doing exactly what he did with Begins/The Prestige. Stop turning this into a story. It's not. - Chainheart2, on 02/16/2009, -0/+6"needs."
- superherofive, on 02/16/2009, -4/+10You actually took the time to post that comment... that is sooo cute.
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -1/+6"Fewer".
- bigj5150, on 02/16/2009, -0/+5It's your "favourite" movie and you didn't know who the director was?
- etruscan, on 02/16/2009, -0/+4I really enjoyed Nolan's "other" work. Not that I don't like the Batman movies, but I'm equally interested to see what this new project is about - so long as WB don't let someone else helm (and ruin) the new Batman series.
- CynicSight, on 02/16/2009, -4/+8Oh noes, 2 years. Don't rage too hard, fanboys, you might pop a vein.
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -0/+3It's technically correct to say that the third movie could be considered a sequel to the second, as they appear "in sequence".
Sorry. I know you really wanted to call someone out there. Better luck next time. - szalinski, on 02/16/2009, -0/+3Christopher Nolan is a great director and I'm glad he's doing another movie in between the Batman sequels. Prestige, Memento, & The Following were all amazing movies. It's a crime when great directors spend their whole life on one franchise.
This was on /Film last week, btw... - burkish127, on 02/16/2009, -0/+3This is old news. And it's good news, anyway. A) Christopher Nolan makes great non-Batman films. B) No one would want a sequel to The Dark Knight to be rushed.
- mattatarms1507, on 02/16/2009, -1/+4in 2 years the ticket price will double anyway....so you might get your dream. even if Johnny Depp isn't the Riddler
- UselessTrivia, on 02/16/2009, -1/+4Throw my name in with the rest of the "2 years really isn't that long for this kind of movie" lot.
There is a reason the Saw movies all suck now, and it's because they release a new one EVERY year.
Good films need a little more time to simmer. - kss42, on 02/16/2009, -0/+3I'd rather see a long line of great, original Nolan films than make him to try to one-up TDK.
- donkevin, on 02/16/2009, -0/+3"Fewer".
- Stormwern, on 02/16/2009, -0/+3John Hodgman!!! :)
- NeVo, on 02/16/2009, -1/+3Am I the only one that does not want a sequel? Am I the only who thinks that the Dark Knight is such a great movie that a sequel would just ruin it?
- dixhuit, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2No, that's good news you fool. You've got to get these things right.
- fakeguy, on 02/16/2009, -2/+4Yes because some of us don't live on our computers.
- moracity, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2Huh? Summer 2010 is less than 18 months. Another installment in theaters only 2 years after the prior release is not long at all. In fact, it's only 1 summer season and is pretty standard nowadays.
How do people get these "reporting" jobs? - jinjin, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2How is this news? Wasn't there 2-3 years in between Batman Begins and the Dark Knight?
- Zookelif, on 02/16/2009, -3/+5I for one am happy that they're coming out with a sequel. Don't care if it was 5 years down the road.
- Chasuk, on 02/16/2009, -1/+3The title implies no Dark Knight sequel for 2 years (which would be Spring 2011), then tells us we will see a sequel in Summer 2010. The article then amplifies this by stating "at least" 2 years. Summer 2010 is NOT "at least" years, but closer to 18 months. Someone at E! Online needs to learn basic math skills.
And I apparently need to learn basic reading skills. Ignore the above. - konartis, on 02/16/2009, -1/+3Were? We're. And yes, this is Digg.
- MrMischief20, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2Meh, The Dark Knight was amazing. I don't mind waiting.
- konartis, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2And The Prestige, which is my favourite movie ever. Didn't know Nolan did it until I RTA.
He's got my #1 and 2 now... he can take his time with the next Batman. - flippedcracker, on 02/16/2009, -1/+3i don't think you read it correctly either. The Inception is set to begin shooting this, to be released in 2010.
- lovek, on 02/16/2009, -1/+3Ah man. You KNOW Christian Bale will be in prison for some reason by then. He's bound to verbally abuse some lawsuit-happy stalker who'll get him brought up on charges....
- CpAmerica8, on 02/17/2009, -0/+2My god, was this article really that confusing??? I'm shocked by the number of people who are still wrapping their heads around the mathematics here.
We are in 2009. That is today. Nolan's next movie, NOT BATMAN, will be released in summer 2010. Now, this is where the article asks for you to do a little thinking "outside the box," diggtards. This means that the next Batman, if it ever happens (the article does not say one way or another if it will), would be released in 2011 at the earliest. I hope I've helped clear things up for some of you idiots. - Po0py, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2I'd say thats about right. It took at least two years to get to Dark Knight.
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -1/+3but what about the baby?
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2Fuknlightn: Kind of a shame you can't edit after 5 minutes, huh?
- twignificant, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2How is this bad news? Anything less than two years could feel awfully rushed. Two years is still a pretty quick turnaround for a big budget film.
- LordStandley, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2Last weeks news, damn I remember when digg stories showed days before any else. What happened?
- cadmiumpaint, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2Its probably a good thing in a way. If they rush another sequel out they'll just ruin the franchise.
The other side of the coin is that Nolan is too good of a director to lock himself into one superhero franchise for too long. He's going to want to more prestigious films than summer blockbusters and thats the real danger. - 0tis, on 02/16/2009, -0/+1You lie, nobody watches TF for the dialogue.
- newman328, on 02/18/2009, -0/+1Come on...week old news is week old news, and we shouldn't be posting it as new.
