- HappyScrappy, on 07/16/2009, -2/+8I thought it was great that the managed to get so much story in and still not make the movie feel like it was rushing from cut to cut. For example, I thought it was great the scene where you see the Gryffindor trio through the window and then they pan over and you seel Malfoy through the window scowling because he's seeing little success with his efforts to make the box work.
If you remember how jumbled the 2nd movie felt because it was trying to squeeze so many scenes in, you should realize how well this one was pulled off in terms of editing. - Chewie67, on 07/16/2009, -1/+6Wow! You also realize to take out 30 minutes by taking 4 seconds off each scene, the movie would have to have 450 scenes, right? That would mean the average scene was already 20 seconds long.
Honestly, I'm pretty sensitive to flab. The first thing I said after seeing the Dark Knight is that anyone could have cut 30 minutes out of that movie and made it better. But that was by cutting needless scenes (the entire trip to Hong Kong is there just to set up the sonar vision gimmick, you could cover that with two lines of dialogue).
