- backseatchris, on 07/11/2008, -2/+12Rumor has it they may adapt this 15 second preview into a full length feature in the upcoming months.

- MOJIRA, on 07/11/2008, -1/+9Wow. Really internet? Really?
I mean Someone who's going to turn 18 in a few months is one thing, but this: http://www.jailbaitcountdown.com/name_b.html ? - DephexTwin, on 07/11/2008, -0/+7Holy crap, there is a countdown for a girl who has 2404 days left before she turns 18. That means she is 11.
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -1/+7That's good to know? Have any sisters?
- Dagny2003, on 07/11/2008, -1/+6Although I don't think HP is the 'bestest ever' nor should it be misconstrued as anything but children's literature, it is great for what it is. Considering that both the works you cited are superficially similar in setting, theme, etc. but differ drastically in the author's philosophies I'd have to rebut your statement. Besides, adults who don't read, just plain don't ***** read. If someone thinks, as an adult, that HP is the height of adult literature, they were already an idiot and I doubt Joyce is going to make ANY sense to them. Thank god they are reading HP. It's all they can get their practically illiterate heads around. As for those of us who are literate and see these books for what they are, we're just not interested in throwing around intellctually elitist ***** statements to make ourselves FEEL smarter than people that we KNOW we are smarter than. "Responsible for creating an entire generation that is illiterate." They were already illiterate, sweetheart.
- Sairynn, on 07/11/2008, -4/+9Most poorly written description ever. Also, what in the ***** is a potteriano?

...but I'm still more excited about Batman, thank you very much. - inactive, on 07/11/2008, -1/+5I am more excited about Watchmen than this little Harry Potter tease.
- threepm, on 07/11/2008, -1/+5can it be seen in non Imax theaters as well?!
- porkdanish, on 07/11/2008, -1/+5Your parents must be so proud.
- scamp115, on 07/11/2008, -0/+4No, He is 18-19 now. I think. I just know that he is slightly younger than me and I turn 21 in November.
- o0joshua0o, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3There is probably already a lot of overlap between the set of moviegoers who are fans of Harry Potter and the set of moviegoers who are fans of Batman movies. The ones who only belong to the first set are probably younger on average, though. So this might encourage more youngsters to go see The Dark Knight. Whether this is good or bad depends on how impressionable they are and how violent this movie is.
- sorenchr, on 07/11/2008, -1/+4Wow, a teaser for a wizardfilm shown with a comicbook hero film, i almost can't wait.
- akilleen, on 07/11/2008, -1/+4Thank you! Literature (or any kind, really) snobbery drives me up a wall. Harry Potter is entertaining, that is it. I don't think anyone is claim it to be a series of literary masterpieces.
- lydecker, on 07/11/2008, -1/+4Anything that gets people to read cannot contribute to a generation of illiteracy.

- Haroshia, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3In a dramatic turnaround, I've heard in the movie Snape DOESN'T kill Dumbledore. Him and the elves go to Helm's Deep to make a last stand against the orc hordes.
- DaHuuuuuudge, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2I'm scared.
- bjs3171, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3can someone let me know what the description says? i haven't made it past that fourth word yet.
- Guitarzan, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2Yeah, but you're not a ninja wizard.
- DaHuuuuuudge, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2Ruin your feeling of excitement? If trailers can ruin your excitement for a movie you're about to see, you must not be very excited.
- CarStan, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2This site is quite disturbing

- laughandsing, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3Harry Potter is awesome. So is Batman. What is the big deal about liking both? You aren't cheating on one if you like the other.

sequel != remake, ***** - Suneet67, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1While i will agree at some level that HP is entertaining I cannot really consider it on its own merits without comparing it to similar children's fantasy like the Chronicles of Narnia which explored similar themes of escapist magic even if the author's philosophies were essentially opposite. When i was younger I read that series and enjoyed it but then like so many others, I moved on to new books, literature, and ideas. I am not trying to be a snob (though the list of authors does appear to be smug it's certainly not intellectual elitism; i am simply trying to convince some people to not read HP for the fifth time and reach for something else instead) but too many individuals across America continue to isolate, fixate and re-saturate themselves with HP despite being too old. I understand why people continue to read these books, HP's sense of escapism and the intrigue it invokes in the child reader is top notch, but there is a much larger world of ideas out there that is being avoided.
Adults who dont ***** read, dont ***** read. But individuals who spend time reading and re-reading and re-reading HP should move on to other novels and this fixation upon the series has created tangible negative effects within the publishing industry. Numerous articles have been written that confirm the relationship between HP and the decline of modern fiction based on total book sales in the last few years.
People are only illiterates until they pick up a book and read; I think they should pick up something a little better than HP if they read anything at all; but hey the movies are entertaining. - Suneet67, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1illiteracy--The condition or quality of being ignorant or unknowledgeable in a particular subject or field (American heritage dictionary 2006). While HP has made alot of people read books it has really only increased the literacy of children (for whom the target audience is and should be). I am not saying that HP is bad for everyone; rather, HP is a fantastic children's series that children should read but older individuals should move past HP and explore other literature be it classical, modern, fantasy, etc.
- deetank, on 07/11/2008, -1/+2Yeah seriously, stick this teaser on another movie.
- gregnorc, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1*****.
Only imax? :( - Chorney, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1lol I wonder how a person comes across a site like this...
I can just imagine what you would have to search google for to find this page at the top of your list. - tehknotte, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1It's supposed to be YOU BITCH!
- Dagny2003, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1'Articles written' does not equate to 'facts confirmed'. The sensationalist tendency to blame an author, series or even entire genres for "trends" in reading rates of adults is unfounded and ridiculous. I've heard the same said of Stephen King, Danielle Steele, Dan Brown. People whose comprehension tops out at this level simply will not move on to more complex material. People whose comprehension is higher simply will not resign themselves to stay at this level. To say that HP has a significant relationship to the 'decline of modern fiction' in the face of truly significant factors such as the Internet and the push of our society to leave behind traditional sources and methods of media is ridiculous. Publishing will suffer just as newspapers, record labels, TV networks, movie studios and distributors do. Just as people heralded the decline of intelligence with the invention of the radio, and later, the television, now we hear these dismal proclamations again in the face of the technological revolution. Yet, facts show we have become more intelligent on average with every generation; not only in spite of, but often, because of the perceived technological culprits. People tend to think that if intelligence starts to manifest itself, on a societal scale, in a way that differs to the past it automatically means a drop in intelligence. We are simply adapting to our fast paced, ever changing systems of information assimilation. Any 'expert' who would put any sizable amount of culpability on HP or any other author or series should have their expertise seriously questioned. I'm inclined to think those articles are inventions of the media to entice readers with the prospect of being able to view themselves as more well-read in comparison to the public at large. Truth is, while reading will never die, it will take on a whole new face. The fact that it is, and always has been, a minority of people who read the more difficult pieces literature has to offer, will never change.
- lydecker, on 07/12/2008, -1/+2Of course they should move past it. But if they're going to move past it's reading level, reading a good Harry Potter novel doesn't hinder that ability nor desire.
- DownIsTheNewUp, on 07/14/2008, -0/+115 seconds? That's all? Shouldn't we have a full trailer by now? The movie comes out in, what, four months? We always got the first Star Wars trailers 6 months before.
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1It is a direct translation, the English version is also on the site.
- Hoogs, on 07/11/2008, -1/+2Just another reason to see this movie! I have a feeling this HP film could be the best one yet, since the book was shorter than the previous two and we've got a decent director. Less book content = better quality movie with less "stuff" to cram in.
