Guillermo Del Toro Dances With Roald Dahl's Witches

io9.com — Now, here's an idea that will give me nightmares for years: Guillermo Del Toro is going to direct the stop-motion feature adaptation of Roald Dahl's fantastic novel The Witches, where a small boy gets trapped in a hotel while the annual convention of witches is taking place.

    Pan's Labyrinth was amazing.

    Just because the title doesn't end in 'Movie' and it doesn't have Carmen Electra in it doesn't make it a bad movie.

    Under Del Toro's wing this movie should be amazing.

    Del Toro certainly has a lot on his plate as well the man is working on a whole host of movies including the 2 Hobbit movies.

    For everyone who enjoyed his novels when they were a kid, I encourage you to read his decidedly more adult short stories. They blew my mind when I first read them.

    With phrases like "It was *****", it is clear that you are a superior critic! So convincing, your argument...
  • BlackJackJester, on 12/02/2008, -3/+2not my fault none of you can't think think for yourself and only say a movie is good because the critics liked it. It was *****. Go watch it again and pay attention to what happens. It makes no sense. There are two separate plots that have nothing to do with each other, crammed into a 90 minute movie. It feels like two good scripts got shredded and half of one was put into half of the other.

    Hellboy is the worst movie ever created and Hellboy 2 is the second worst. They are both right on the cusp of very very bad, but not so bad it's funny.

Say whatever you want about "artistic vision", but anyone who thinks a bad guy made out of sand, a good guy made out of steam, and a psychotic girl vs. Nazi's are good ideas needs to ice skate on their nuts and die.
