- Zonkzor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A few days ago my buddy was over at my house watching crap on Google Video for 5 hours straight. Anyways towards the end of his binge at the end of each video was a message saying that he could buy the video. I don't remember the exact words. There was no way to pay money or anything so it had to be a bug. Perhaps that was a part of this new payed service that wasn't supposed to be activated yet.

How To Be A http://CollegeCheapskate.com - jesusphreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmmm....I don't like it all being fractured with different formats and standards.
- Carbito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"From what I've heard its going to be all Real video. Personally, I MUCH prefer the Quicktime format."
eww, they are both horrible formats. I never thought that I would see the day where WMV looks like it would be the best option. - teentech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If they are using vlc and then drming it wouldn't they have to release the drm source code?
- JPhilipson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Google's first frontal assault on a company...this is good. Maybe apple will lower it's prices!
- AhronZombi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0google vs ms vs apple
winner = us - burntfire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0From what I've heard its going to be all Real video. Personally, I MUCH prefer the Quicktime format. I'll stick with iTMS.
- Deenem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0...and in related news. The RIAA will continue suing people who want to download their content.
Why do the TV people get it and the music people don't? - Mysk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ Carbito
Agreed. However, given a choice betwen Real video and Quicktime I would choose QT without hesitation. Just my opinion, of course.. - whizzbang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Any chance of people outside of the US being able to buy these shows? I doubt it! It looks like they are continuing to force us to bit-torrent their shows!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think once again the market will fall behind very soon, people aren't just gonna want the shows soon, but they're gonna want the true high def shows that are 2, 4, 6, or even 20 gigs. Google wouldnt be able to catalog and distribute that much content..
usenet > torrents - foohookups311, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I want apple to win this one. Google is way to huge and going down the path of evil micro$oft.
- nogami, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Maybe it will be available in Canada - unlike any of the stuff on iTMS, which is absolutely useless for us here...

So I take it that no one has ever seen NSV6 on Winamp - for free I can tune into HD versions of 24.
Hmm. Looks just as good as DivX6.1 codec on the 6.0 player. I can't see the diff. - geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Apple and Google lock horns, I like.
digg++ - battybattybatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, then time to sell some Google options.
- KenAycock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I bet this is rumor aswell as the google pack. Atleast the details. I just can't see them promoting realplayer, unless google bought real and re-vamped it!
- Willy99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0rumor? not sure... but i know you can watch a ton of cool movies for free at http://tesla.liketelevision.com - and a bunch of downloads are available too,
for a fee - or get all the downloads if you subscribe. the downloads are
higher quality than the free streams - they even have iso files for dvds. (COOL!).
i just watched Evel Knievel jumping over the Caesar's Palace fountain... and having
the most incredible wipout. (it is from the movie Evel Knievel). check out part
three .... WIPE OUT!

- Cerberus047, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0who knows how it will turn out... if it is downloading then of course google will have to be able to supply other formats, but on the other hand most people dont care, annnnd theres bittorrent
- CapAmerica, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think Google is biting off more then they can chew. I can only see this turning out bad for Google. And the fact that they are going to use RealPlayer... I mean gesh talk about going with the worst format on earth. I'm really starting to think Google is getting to big for themselves.
- tmcleroy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0And i will steal videos online
- cusoman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wouldn't buy them, not unless they improve the quality of the video. As it stands the videos are very shoddy and definitely not worth my hard earned cash.
- quaffapint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Competition in the video world is always good - means more innovation and cheaper prices...
