- wonderchemist, on 10/17/2007, -24/+365I propose the following.
Episode III.V: Kickin It Old Skool with Darth Vader
Episode III.IX: SNAKES on a Imperial Cruiser - gijoel, on 10/12/2007, -6/+193Many Bothans died for that film.
- tito13kfm, on 10/12/2007, -14/+198You misspelled three.
- DeadManWalking, on 10/12/2007, -11/+136They might just be worth watching...
provided Lucas doesn't direct them. - quomen, on 10/12/2007, -16/+136Give me Indy 4 first.
- bbrigg1, on 10/12/2007, -91/+205The third was the best???? Guess again. My rancid turds can act better than Hayden ***** whatever his name is.
- Lynx34, on 10/12/2007, -9/+118I propose the following:
Star Wars VII: The Search for More Money - saddad, on 10/12/2007, -7/+113Talk about milking it.
- cklol, on 10/12/2007, -22/+119The third was by far the worst, I thought the acting and dialogue was so bad that it was hard to watch.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" - marksmayo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+95"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -18/+90BLAH!
Shouldn't you be ***** up the ***** up "special" versions of episodes 4, 5 and 6 some more, instead?
Or how about a G rated version all in googoo baby language. - tekmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -5/+76I've been waiting 28 years for the sequel to the Star Wars Holiday Special, it's about damn time!
- fkr3, on 10/12/2007, -98/+165To be honest, I don't care about Jar Jar anymore. He was trying to target a very different audience to what we are, and he shouldn't have done it, but I forgive him. The 2nd and 3rd were great movies, especially the 3rd.
I'd rather have more Star Wars than no more. He learnt his lesson with #1 I think, and I expect any future ones to be great watches. - cptn_cardboard, on 10/12/2007, -4/+69MONEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+68Made-for-TV movies?
- AJRiddle, on 10/12/2007, -22/+74How about a KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic for those who don't know) movie? The game's story might have actually been better than the original 3 movies.
- swiftekho, on 10/12/2007, -6/+57AKA... I need more money to fund my other projects
- DerekDenton, on 10/12/2007, -6/+51Hopefully, this will give Lucas a chance to better explain midichlorians. Perhaps with ILM-produced PowerPoint slides.
- RUFiO006, on 10/12/2007, -5/+47The best kept secret about George Lucas is that he's a terrible director.
- CapeKid, on 10/12/2007, -3/+43Star Wars is going the way of Sonic the Hedgehog
- gregfadein, on 10/12/2007, -21/+59AJRiddle said, "How about a KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic for those who don't know) movie? The game's story might have actually been better than the original 3 movies."
Right, because going on a quest to collect the four magical maps to the Star Forge was just SO inspired. - mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37@AJRiddle:
I dunno about KOTOR, but Shadows of the Empire would make a good movie.
Though my personal favorite was the story of Corran Horn in the X-Wing novels by Michael A. Stackpole.
The Star Wars novel universe is so ripe for good movies to be made out of them, just so long as Lucas isn't at the helm. - azzageddi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31That's the Sopranos in Esperanto. Starring William Shatner.
- kosmoX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30When can we expect a Star Wars pinball movie?
- Spr0k3t, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29Jar Jar was supposed to be killed by Anakin in ep2, but Lucas said he changed Jar Jar's role as too many people would be cheering in the audience. Don't remember the link to the vid, as it was around the time of ep3s release.
- mesmeriffic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+29@scott
And Tek Jansen. He obviously has had hundreds of girlfriends. - S1ngular1ty1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26Title should read...
"George Lucas has announced he will kill the Star Wars franchise by trying to capitalize on previous films by making two new poorly constructed money making videos based on other characters of the time period whom no one cares about..." - gllopc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23It's a trap!
- PunkRampant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25Star Wars: Rise of the Midichlorians
- Akidan, on 10/12/2007, -8/+29I think I speak for everyone when I say..
*ahem*
DO NOT WANT! - insinuate, on 10/12/2007, -17/+34After the ***** of 1,2, and 3? I think I will pass. No wait, I know I will.
- fkr3, on 10/12/2007, -8/+25Why am I a sheep? Because I enjoyed a movie you didn't? I probably enjoy lots of things you don't, and you probably enjoy lots of things I don't.
I say he learnt his lesson because #2 and #3 were far more adult than #1. I think he portrayed the transformation of Anakin to Darth Vader and the betrayal of the Jedi spectacularly personally.
I grew up loving Star Wars, I used to have an extensive collection of Star Wars books that I had great pleasure reading in my teenage years, and I went to midnight screenings of all 3 of the new Star Wars.
If that makes me a sheep then "baaaaaaa". - sdcarter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Hello Mr. Lucas,
I love your movies and I'll go see these new ones in theater on opening night, just like all the others. However, sir, you will not get a single cent more of my money after theater runs until you decide on a version, put all the movies out together, and stop making me feel like a buffoon for buying a version of your movies, thinking it is the final version, and then finding you've decided upon releasing rereleases of reconstructed and rehashed reshoots of... well let's just put it this way. I've been a fan of Star Wars as long as I can remember... I even tolerated 1,2,& 3 because I just wanted to see how you would tell the story of Anakin Skywalker. Opinions aside, I can now say I have no problem pirating Star Wars movies. I've owned 2 different VHS versions of 4,5,& 6. I also have the DVD box set of 4,5,& 6. I've owned VHS and DVD versions of 1, and bought the "Special" widescreen versions of 2 and 3. Mr. Lucas, please take note from Peter Jackson. Make quality movies, then release them simultaneously on DVD in two versions. One version is just the movie. The other version is the extended, director's cut, bonus footage, et. al. version. Then, for the love of Yoda, call it quits on them and don't release any newer versions. I'm giving you one more shot, sir. You don't get any more money until I hear the words "finalized," box-set," and "I'm sorry for being a *****!"
Thank you and good day,
S.D. Carter - benmode, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19That's GREAT!!!! --oh wait.... nah... no. It's not great...
- juDDz, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18enterage? soprantos?
- orientis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15fkr3: You think that he portrayed the birth of Darth Vader well? He destroyed that character completely for me.
At the end of the first trilogy, when Vader sacrifices himself for his son, there is this moment of redemption. It's beautiful. Some evil bastard who has spent his life causing pain and destruction wherever he goes finally attempts to do some good in his life, and saves his son.
But wait! It turns out that Vader was always a weakling! He never stopped whining before the helmet!
So now that moment of redemption means NOTHING! Because this new Vader was always such a weak little bitch, it works with his 'character' to turn on the emperor in the end. Vader went from badass ***** with a desire for better things to a sketchy, mixed up kid in plastic tights. ***** that. - Coven, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12These are most likely going to be hour long, commercialless pseudo-pilots for the live action series he is going to do. Unless we're talking about two new Ewok adventures, in which case i'll bring the tar.
- mabhatter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11he could make an edgy film like Aeon Flux or use Jar Jar as a running gag like kenny in South Park... and KILL him Every episode!!! That'd get lots of fan to watch and never get old.
- TheRay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I think the reporter misunderstood. It's been known for some time that two television series are planned--a CGI "Clone Wars" series, and a live-action one, set after Episode III. Why would they make two hour-long live-action movies? Wouldn't that just be two episodes of the TV show?
None of this makes sense. - wolfzbane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9@ Ilovepoop
Dugg down just because of your name - benitojuarez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9The only movies that should be made now is the thrawn trilogy, or an assload of NJO movies.
- threemonkeydust, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Note to CatalystDM and KMartSheriff:
Learnt vs. Learned
I know sometimes people need a reminder: the American way is just ONE WAY of writing it.
Learnt is just as valid as learned.
I'm British, I write Learnt.
You're (probably) American, you write Learned.
They're both OK, can we just get over this stupid Color / Colour, Humor / Humour battle? It's really old.
Thanks. - mabhatter, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10the joke is that all the cross marketing paid to make the movie... and unlike hollywood directors the last Star Wars movies were financial success. Each one actually cost LESS than the one before and all came in under budget... funny how that accounting works when it's all comming from one guys pocket!
If George would get over himself and step aside for some other writers/directors, he'd be rolling in money. I noticed on the same page george considered Empire to be the "worst" film... it shows he doesn't "get" the organic process of film making. He's a great filmographer (scenes and scope) and story teller (big ideas), but not a great director (sux with people). - Thumper13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Ever heard of ILM? Dude, and there is Howard the Duck!
- jdaniel284, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14I'm not the least bit interested in any new Star Wars movies from George Lucas. George Lucas had a bright shooting star of inspiration, but it burned out long long ago.
- Puppetfunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I really enjoyed the EU novels. Those could make some crazy movies. You know...Without Lucas...
- mabhatter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7because FOX is going to publish them, as with all the Star Wars movies. What the execs aren't telling him is that they'll show the third "character development" show as the premier, put the show on a different night each week while announcing it on the wrong day, then cancel it after 3-5 episodes for "lack of interest"... And they'll insist he have Joss direct and they'll cast Nathan Fillion in the lead "Jedi" role.
- rickremixx, on 10/12/2007, -19/+26lame the last two have sucked donkey balls sorry george
- kahlessreborn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7How dare you try and ruin Firefly like you did to Star Wars and are trying to do to Indiana Jones. Go home Lucas. J/K BTW
- neo1513, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8perhaps... in a galaxy far, far away?
yeah yeah so I'm lame, shut up. -
