- UndeadZmobie, on 10/09/2008, -2/+53They're Valkyrie hallucinations from the Valkyr drug.
- Kohaxx, on 10/09/2008, -2/+34"Max Payne is a maverick cop"
Maverick, the most misused word of 2008. - BelatedHero, on 10/09/2008, -10/+42What the hell, I don't remember any supernatural ***** in Max Payne.
- dha07030, on 10/09/2008, -1/+20You care way too much.
- rb79, on 10/09/2008, -1/+18Well "The Dark Knight" got a PG-13 rating. So don't lose hope!
- korvan504521, on 10/09/2008, -1/+17High hopes and dollar will get you a spicy chicken wrap from wendy's.
mmm, chicken. - DarkSim905, on 10/09/2008, -1/+16You're kidding right? The plot follows the game fairly closely to me -- demons/angels are part of Payne's hallucinations when he takes Valkyrie. I look forward to the movie to see how they pull it off. The first time in a long time a game to movie adaptation may go right.
- SomeImagination, on 10/09/2008, -1/+15Say hi to your wife from me
- joshuawilde, on 10/09/2008, -1/+15Behind Enemy Lines was just fine, other than a slightly over the top ending.
- orb_nsc, on 10/09/2008, -1/+13In the game it always looked like Max badly needed to take a poop. If he's not like that in the movie, it won't be authentic.
- drunkinbda, on 10/09/2008, -3/+12ahhhhhhhh... ive been wondering about that.. thx.
k the movie has been redeemed so far - praveenmarkandu, on 10/09/2008, -2/+11it bothers me that mark wahlberg doesnt have a 5oclock shadow in this movie. max payne was never that clean shaven
- silverzone, on 10/09/2008, -8/+16I have really high hopes for the movie. It looks good so far. Although the PG-13 has me thinking they may not be able to obtain some of the grittiness of the games, which is a mega bummer. But otherwise, the cast isn't half bad.
- crichton101, on 10/09/2008, -1/+9I wanted to think that too, and then I read this quote from the link
"As the mystery deepens, Max is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world"
And the valkyries were NOT in the game. the drug was called valkyr yes, but there were no valkyries anywhere in the game. So really, I think they are making waaaay to much out of the valkyries going by the trailers. I watch the trailer, and if I didn't know what Max Payne was I would think it was a movie like Constantine. - drmangrum, on 10/09/2008, -2/+9It could have been worse....
Uwe Boll anyone? - Maasneotek, on 10/09/2008, -9/+16Gah, is this just Contantine with a narrative now? WTF was Fox thinking, They HAD a storyline, they HAD a plot. Why take such an odd tangent and add supernatural elements? This has the smell of douchebag producer written all over it. "How can we get some large feathered black angels in this?"
- Extrix, on 10/09/2008, -0/+6Looks sweet. Could look a lot sweeter if it was Rated R.
- andydumi, on 10/09/2008, -2/+8Me neither. My wife asked me about i since she remembers me playing the game and I was like: "I have no idea what the supernatural stuff is..."
- Shakermaker, on 10/09/2008, -2/+8You know what would be a great idea? Looking at some still images from a movie and thinking we know exactly what it's about and condemning it.
Gimme a ***** break. Wait until the movie comes out....THEN condemn it. - wondertwins, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5if a director wants to make a movie based on a game, he should AT LEAST play the game that hes making
- gooberguy, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5They're Valkyrie hallucinations from the Valkyr drug.
- UndeadZmobie, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5A user on the Max Payne IMDb boards, Xavii, claims to have seen an early screening of the film (seems legit to me) and says they are purely hallucinations. Time will tell for sure.
- ElectroStep, on 10/09/2008, -1/+6I think the difference is Payne might just be a maverick.,
- Bologner, on 10/09/2008, -1/+5Hopefully.
- iwalkintodoors, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4When I play Max Payne I never say, "I have tomatoes in my pants!"
- Conseal, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4It would be really cool if they had incorporated some of the dream sequences from Max Payne 1, namely the labyrinth/crying baby scene. That thing spooked the ***** out of me!
- ToTiredToCare, on 10/09/2008, -1/+4Yay!!! More neutered, PG-13 ***** from Fox.
- WarMachineWCLH, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3What's that? Mila Kunis holding an MP5K? I'm listening.
- MD12, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3I'll admit that he was terrible in The Happening, but I still believe he's a good actor. I'm willing to give him a chance in this.
- Walcherina, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3Looks visually stimulating.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3Marky Mark will get funky on those bunch of bad guys asses.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3*tough
- Extrix, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2Yes, Mark IS bad ass.
- Cassanova, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2I agree. Max Payne is basically a dark detective story. I have no problem adding elements to a movie to make it more entertaining.
- xram12, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2he is right though, angels suck
- lanzemurdok, on 10/09/2008, -1/+3say hello to your mother for me
- FAHQ2, on 10/09/2008, -4/+6Lets see:
Fox, PG13, Lame Director, Mark Wahlberg, Common Plot = Cop out for revenge.
Yah this movie is going to be garbage.
The Game had great graphics and first popular game with Slow-Mo bullet time, that's what made it good.
Unfortunately what made this a good game at the time, wont translate into success in the movie realm. - Gramlengo, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2The "look and feel" of it seem right, but I haven't seen one reference to the actual GAME plot.
- bubba9999, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2no thank you.
- Zetsubou, on 10/09/2008, -1/+3I love when pictures are so small I have to be 5 inches away from the screen and be squinting just to see how awesome they really are.
- WolfDV, on 10/09/2008, -2/+3Mila Kunis is so ***** hot!
- ElectroStep, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1I think it's that eagle guy from Spiderman.
- Bologner, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1They better have everyone in this film. Lapino, Lisa Punchenello (sp), Vinnie Gognitti, Vlad, et all. If they missed any one of these, heads will roll.
- inactive, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1Yeah because we all know how good every other video game movie has been!
Just look at Mario! Tomb Raider! Resident Evil! Doom! - Oh wait - they were all *****. - Radan, on 10/09/2008, -1/+2To be fair, Mark Wahlberg was far from the worst thing in that movie. Actually, comparing to the ***** spoiler! murder plants plot, his acting was freaking Oscar worthy.
- coolcash2005, on 10/09/2008, -1/+2Ya because boycotting it will do so much. And of course, Fox is always evil.
- Poffeloff, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1PLEAAASE MAAAAAAX!
Still hear her wails >. - ElectroStep, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1I wonder if they'll have bullet time in the film.
- jszhang, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1I'll waiting for the director cut version. PG-13 in the cinema? No way if the movie is about killing.
- Poffeloff, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1Well the storytelling and the awesome dialogue lines in Max Payne is probably what made it what it is. The reason it sounds boring when you tell it, is because you tell it wrong. The game really told in this original fashion. Don't think it was only the bullet time wich caught players. Whole game was awesome :)
