- D3koy, on 06/15/2009, -7/+356UP, and almost every other Pixar movie, was so much more than "animated-for-kids-but-ill-still-watch-it-cause-some-girl-i- like-wants-me-to-go-with-her". That said, this picture is pretty funny.
- Peach3s, on 06/15/2009, -5/+308you're going to need like 9000 more balloons

KieronHiggs said "More like "DOWN in Real Life," amirite?"
He deleted the comment before I replied. I was particularly upset that I didn't get to post my reply so I should do it now and show him that he can't escape the wrath of someone who doesn't have a life.
back to my original point I would like to say:
That comment actually ***** hurt to read.
Thank you for your time. - kdmkdmkdm, on 06/15/2009, -1/+162KieronHiggs, WE KNOW WHAT YOU SAID.
- Chompy, on 06/15/2009, -0/+151Yeah it's kinda sad how insecure this guy must be with his little "I only saw it because I'm trying to bang this chick" I'm-still-cool-card.
Dude, it's 2009. It's OK to like PIXAR flicks! - jerstud56, on 06/15/2009, -0/+123That's over 9000!
Actually...my brother works at a movie theatre and they got "trivia cards" saying that they did the math and if they REALLY were going to lift the house off the ground it would take 23.5 milllion balloons. In the first scene that the house is lifted up it has like ~19,000 balloons just for a huge reaction from the crowd.
proof: http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ez ... - Baronvontito1, on 06/15/2009, -0/+91I absolutely agree. I think I'll enjoy Pixar films no matter how old I am. As a supporting argument, I'm 21 years old and I'm SO EXCITED FOR TOY STORY 3.
Got a bit carried away there. Good day, sir. - johnsmith555, on 06/15/2009, -0/+86Dugg for your determination
- LBobRife, on 06/15/2009, -2/+84Hey, isn't that the house in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle that the old lady wouldn't sell to the developers? She died recently and gave the land to the developer (who had treated her very well despite her refusal to sell her property to him). Of course, by then they had built the condominium and couldn't do anything with the space so they're leaving the house there.
- tsp00n, on 06/15/2009, -1/+78if we let people get away with saying stupid things on the internet now, my god we will be no better then the animals

- reelskamachine, on 06/15/2009, -1/+43my god, its already happening.
- alsazen, on 06/15/2009, -0/+41I'm in my 30s and I'm right there with you, really looking forward to Toy Story 3!
I think that's what has made Pixar films so amazing, they are not just targeted at children, they have been crafted to work on many more levels that will appeal to many more people. - chesterjosiah, on 06/15/2009, -1/+40It's.
- randypanda, on 06/15/2009, -4/+42Ok, I guess we got off to a bad start, you said some things and I said somethings im sure we both regret.
And no, I really don't think your brother should suck a dick. - LBobRife, on 06/15/2009, -0/+32http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/dannywestnea ...
There's a Seattle Times article about the story. - douch3mom, on 06/15/2009, -4/+34Can we take Kevin with us?
- storminnorm, on 06/15/2009, -0/+30Apparently he doesn't understand that people have actually embraced animation to some extent.
- Spymodhf, on 06/15/2009, -6/+34WHAT 9000?!
- MasterGrief, on 06/15/2009, -0/+25Yeah, I saw the episode of Mythbusters concerning the story of the young child being carried away by balloons, and just to lift roughly forty five pounds they had to use a tower of balloons about forty feet high and wide. Not a lot of lifting power in a regular party balloon-- can't say I'm surprised.
- RIB08, on 06/15/2009, -0/+24real life can't render that many balloons.
- rahga, on 06/15/2009, -4/+28Already dugg before, a list with a bunch of other "Nail Houses"... http://digg.com/odd_stuff/6_Extraordinarily_Stubbo ...

heh, see what I did there? - Dino451, on 06/15/2009, -0/+21I prefer Dug........Squirrel!
- GeekNurse, on 06/15/2009, -0/+21Story behind the house:

- ogermino, on 06/15/2009, -1/+18Eminent domain comes from behind to steal the win.
- Solkre, on 06/15/2009, -0/+17UP made me ***** cry >.< Damn you Pixar! Stop taking my money and toying with my emotions!
- NoUltimatum, on 06/15/2009, -0/+16And a porch... "Can I come in?"... "...NO!"
- patm1987, on 06/15/2009, -0/+16@CressCrowbits
There's Hydrogen.
And, if you managed to create a vacuum inside the balloon but kept its 11" diameter that would also work, but this isn't Diamond Age. - sabroskie, on 06/15/2009, -0/+15Now I understand why people feel the need to "log in just to digg this comment."
- macmcraeart, on 06/15/2009, -0/+15Hey I know a joke! A squirrel walks up to a tree and says "I forgot to store acorns for winter and now I am dead." Ha! It is funny because the squirrel gets dead.
- robby007, on 06/15/2009, -3/+17THERES NO WAY THAT CAN BE RIGHT!

- merreborn, on 06/15/2009, -0/+12I think you'll find, when you grow up and get married, that the core of Up's story actually appeals to adults much more than it does to children.
The whole relationship between the hero and his deceased wife is completely meaningless to children, but deeply meaningful to adults. - zeazzz, on 06/15/2009, -0/+12WHERE THE ***** WAS YOUR SPOILER WARNING?
- artofwar420, on 06/15/2009, -2/+13VEGEETAAA!
- luke255, on 06/15/2009, -0/+11If he hadn't deleted his comment he would have just got buried. So it's only fair I bury his only other comment so far, which as you will see is very bury-worthy in itself:

- xXMetalJesusXx, on 06/15/2009, -0/+10You obviously haven't seen Up in 3D, or any movie that uses RealD. I suggest you try it out sometime...

- imdandman, on 06/15/2009, -0/+9I don't know. I went to see up with my family and thou.... SQUIRREL!
- joot2112, on 06/15/2009, -0/+9I'm not crying... it's must be the 3D glasses irritating my eyes. Oh, there they go again. Damn it.
