There is no jump! Stop saying that! I don't think you know what that means. - arapro, on 07/07/2008, -2/+28I am not glad they made Daredevil
- roflmaololstorm, on 07/06/2008, -2/+21Still doesn't excuse Jumper
- ssj2119, on 07/07/2008, -2/+19Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU
I was about to post the same thing - why do people write this?
After the jump. What *****' jump? - inactive, on 07/06/2008, -18/+34I like Jack Black.
- terrorpin, on 07/07/2008, -1/+13I always assume it refers to an ad that I'm not seeing between the paragraphs.
- Dumbledorito, on 07/06/2008, -0/+8Another one I'm glad that got canned was "The Green Hornet." Much like "The Spirit" is probably going to be, it may have been based on an iconic comic, unless you can pull a compelling plot out of your ass and staple the personalities that were lacking in most golden-age comics on to the cast, this would probably have been more like "The Shadow," even with Kevin Smith writing it.
I mean, if the market was into hard-boiled crime noir with a domino mask, there would already be other films like that in the works. It's about as rational as trying to moderinize the Western (which only went so far in the 80's). - crossmr, on 07/07/2008, -0/+7Then they need to make that whole "jump" bit part of the link itself on the front page of their site and not actually part of the article.
- cbeach, on 07/07/2008, -0/+6Buried for "Under the jump"
- HHP2K, on 07/07/2008, -1/+6You know what? ***** the jump. I don't even see the jump. Who cares about the jump? Jeez.
- Dumbledorito, on 07/07/2008, -1/+5I loved the book years ago. There was no excuse for screwing up that concept.
- threemagic, on 07/07/2008, -1/+5Hancock had huge potential. I have to ask the writers, why did they change the story? The anti-hero or self loathing superhero thing worked... why ruin it with some weird pairing of angels angle?
- exspasticcomics, on 07/07/2008, -2/+6jack black as guy gardner.... think about it...
- Kanten, on 07/07/2008, -4/+8If by Jim Cameron he means James Cameron, then ***** him. The guy doesn't make a bad movie no matter how ludicrous it sounds. "Alien with guns, are you INSANE?" Most likely would've been this guy's reaction.
- inactive, on 07/07/2008, -0/+3Gotham Knight kicks ass. I rented it the other day, but I wanted to watch it again, thanks for the link. The quality was pretty good too.
- iamtenninjas, on 07/07/2008, -1/+4Wait... "the heart or quirkiness of Raimi's version"? Did they watch those movies? Did they see all of the horribly forced dialogue? Did they see the entire 3rd movie?
That was a joke right? I hope? Is this just one of those sarcastic internet comments that went over my head? - Snowbeam, on 07/07/2008, -1/+4...yet
- Elranzer, on 07/07/2008, -2/+5Actually, that would have been a lot better than Superman Returns, which was little more than a gay love letter to Brandon Routh from Bryan Singer.
- brijazz, on 07/07/2008, -0/+3Doesn't anyone remember the Tim Burton take on Superman, (not) starring Nicholas Cage as the Man of Steel? Glad that one never got off the ground.... should be #1 on this list.
- Linds, on 07/07/2008, -0/+3I wish they didn't make Spawn. It had the potential to be an amazing movie, if they waited 10 more years for better special effects. Everything else was horrible about that movie too, of course.. I want a better Spawn movie!
- inactive, on 07/07/2008, -2/+5I liked Batman: Gotham Knight, Im glad they made it. The animation was excellent and the atmosphere fit Batman perfectly. I got a link to watch it here, not RickRoll. http://nitesmoke.wordpress.com/
- inactive, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2I like them both. Did you notice how on Gotham Knight, they used the same voice actor from TAS? I thought it was a cool choice.
- riptor666, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2I disagree on James Cameron's R rated Spiderman rather disappointing but who knows maybe he'll do a remake? Now the First Spiderman movie was good no doubt about it but I'd much rather see Cameron doing the sequels. Dark and violent and perhaps not wasting 10's of millions on 30 seconds of CGI sand, and spending it on making a good film.
- Splicernyc, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2Jack Black's acting ability notwithstanding, the idea of turning non-comedic superheroes into on-screen joke machines should have ended with the George Clooney Batman. At least some people in Hollywood have some sense.
- bjs3171, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2James Cameron was gonna make Spider-Man, and instead we got Raimi's? God dammit.
I really wish Cameron would just make that Aqua Man movie, it looked sweet. - Elranzer, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2Gotham Knight has nothing on the Animated Series though. Worth a rental, not a purchase.
- crowbarred, on 07/07/2008, -2/+4m u s t ha v e gr e e n l a n t e r n F I L M! ......... [c'mon ... its time]
- Kanten, on 07/07/2008, -1/+3Like the guys who turn Spider-Man emo.
- mlvassallo, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2This guy had a lot of weird spelling and grammar mistakes in this article, it makes sense that he would have gotten James Cameron's name wrong.
- BevansDesign, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2I don't know anything about "The Mark", but from that write-up, it sounds promising.
The "Confederate Soldier" part is what intrigues me the most. Rather than it taking place in modern times, what if it took place during the Civil War? A black guy living in the middle of the Civil War suddenly receives super powers. That could be pretty cool. - Elranzer, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2Kevin Conroy returned for Batman, but that was it. Even Alfred was different. I don't even think the Scarecrow and Killer Croc had lines, and they certainly were not the same voice actors from TAS.
And no Joker, no Mark Hamill at all. - cycledesign, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2People use names like Jim Cameron and Bobby De Niro when they want to sound important and 'familiar' with celebrities.
- Monkeydew06, on 07/07/2008, -1/+3IMO: The producers wanted to try and make another super dramatic Will Smith finisher much like in "Pursuit of Happiness" and definately "I am legend" (hence the jumping to get away from the other "angel"). Unfortunately they didn't realize that people wanted to see Will Smith in a comedy.... not a drama. This movie reminded me of "Click" in that, you go into it thinking "Hey! This is a comedy, thus it will be funny!" then the story turns and you end up with MAJOR DRAMA outta nowhere.
- breakdancecrew, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2I refuse to click a link that includes the words "Under the jump". Just put all the content on a single page!
- Monkeydew06, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2Seems pretty 50/50, I went with 5 people, 3 people loved it, 3 people thought it was pretty crappy. Personally, I felt the story left ALOT to be explained...
- 4rp4n3t, on 07/07/2008, -1/+3@Charlotte_Web - riiiight, because how much money a film makes is a sure fire way to tell how good it is....
- trdrstv, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2Firefly/ Serenity did a pretty good job of modernizing the western.
They took the core of the genre and updated it for modern times / audiences, and did it well. - Zidul, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Superman Reborn.
- oldman, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1What a useless story. Out of all the crap that gets released every year here's 5 more....
- Zidul, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1lol sure, a superman that can't fly doesn't wear a suit and fights giant mechanical spiders.
- sevenalive, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1i love The Shadow (1994) w/ Alec Baldwin. I thought it was a good movie an 8/10. I even have the pinball machine too, which is kickass. (I saw the movie after i got the pinball machine, so its not like i am obsessed w/ it.)
- triferlinks, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1the heat is on.
- inactive, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Clooney was delivering Oscar-worthy performances in that film compared to Chris O'Donnell. Hell, as compared to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Uma Thurman and Alicia Silverstone...who were all almost unwatchably bad. Of course, I'm sure Joel Schumacher had no small part in their ham-handed performances. He's a disaster as a director.
- bjs3171, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1woudn't that be either Justice LEAGUE or SUPER Friends? One being current, the other being from the 80's?
- Koskun, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1That's because he didn't have much to do with it. He (McFarlane) wanted to do a lot more with it, but his hands were tied by the budget.
If you want to see the "screen" version of Spawn that McFarlane wanted watch the cartoon that was on HBO. - titan9000, on 07/07/2008, -1/+2All of this and I just want two things
Will Smith to be the Green Lantern (Im bracing myself for the buries...but come on he was a decent hero despite Hancock not being a good movie)
James Cameron and Adrian Grenier to do Aquaman...just to have fun anddd to see if anyone could write a story in which Aquaman isnt ***** lame. - zadadka, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Atom Ant.
- krisscofield, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Todd McFarlane should've just made that terrible Madonna film instead of pissing all over his own creation, Spawn. That movie was hardly watchable.
- inactive, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Who buried this man? Don't be hatin' on Firefly.
