- bebop717, on 12/08/2007, -2/+105looks like Steven segal
- Eminemdrdre00, on 12/08/2007, -5/+43I miss Tomas Jane already
- logicalnoise, on 12/08/2007, -0/+28what's sad is thomas jane wanted to do this movie but the producers were trying to make it nothing like the actual punisher so he left.
- rebelphoenix, on 12/08/2007, -2/+20Is that Steven Segal? The hell is he doing in Punisher?
- PanicAK, on 12/08/2007, -2/+15IMO, there's nothing worse in a sequel then using a different actor for the same character, even if it is a ***** movie to begin with.
In that same vein, a band shouldn't be able to keep its name if it loses the lead singer... - CrimsonBlur, on 12/08/2007, -1/+13Comic character != superhero. The Punisher is just some dude that became a vigilante for his version of justice, that's the point of the character. He is not a superhero.
- browwiw, on 12/08/2007, -0/+7Garth Ennis has stated on several occasions that he writes Frank Castle as an obsessive compulsive serial killer that just happens to prey on violent criminals. I effing love Punisher Max.
- dkm201, on 12/08/2007, -2/+9If you haven't seen Ray Stevenson be a badass in Rome, then your opinion on this is irrelevant.
- Kevin108, on 12/08/2007, -1/+6If it's Segal then there has to be a partner played by a popular rap artist, right?
- ironicsans, on 12/08/2007, -1/+6Why does he have a picture of Dr. Zoidberg on his shirt?
- XBSHX, on 12/08/2007, -0/+5He also left because it was taking so god damn long and he couldn't keep his schedule open any longer.
- Gunsotsu, on 12/08/2007, -0/+4Given all the different versions of Frank Castle in the comic books, I can stand to see other actors give it a go. Thomas Jane was good, but I couldn't really buy him as the Punisher. Not hard and grizzled enough. The Punisher has always been the anti-hero hero, a much more believable character than most anyone else in the comic book universe. It takes one serious badass to play Castle, and someone truly demented to play Jigsaw. Can't wait to see this one.
- merripen, on 12/08/2007, -0/+4Nothing says hardcore like pre-faded clothes.
- thoughtbubble, on 12/08/2007, -0/+4If you haven't seen Ray in Rome, then you really don't have any idea of just how perfect he is for this role. The guy is very intimidating, much larger than Thomas Jane too. I think it's a great fit for the Punisher.
- Ogedei, on 12/08/2007, -1/+5That was my exact first thought. what? They have Segal playing Punisher. *****, what a way to ruin it.
- jewdiknight, on 12/08/2007, -1/+4WTF??? What happened to Tomas Jane? I like the Punisher, its to bad it came out the same weekend as Kill Bill Vol1. No way it was able to compete against "The return of Tarantino."
- staplez, on 12/08/2007, -0/+3I know this probably isn't gonna be in the story, but they totally have a marvel character that teamed up with punisher to use as a stand in for a popular rap artist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Cage I read WAY TOO many comic books.
- Axeman2063, on 12/08/2007, -2/+5ugh, I have to agree. making a sequel without the same actor rapes the sequel in it's proverbial arse. Think George of the Jungle, Starship Troopers 2, and any number of others. Audiences like continuity, thats the bottom line.
- Pyroteq, on 12/08/2007, -0/+3Iron Maiden shouldn't have kept their name? The lead singer isn't always the founder of the band you realise, or do you only listen to crap like Justin Timberlake?
- Elderon, on 12/08/2007, -1/+4Oh come on!? where the hell is tom jane? That guy rocked as punisher. If this movie is going so far off track that a fan of the series like jane decides he doesn't want anything to do with it makes me a bit worried. I don't know if I want to see this movie than. god thats such a bummer, he did a good job i thought.
- cleber, on 12/08/2007, -4/+7Isn't he holding the gun wrong? I mean, the left hand...?

- inactive, on 12/08/2007, -0/+3 I’m writing to tell you that I regretfully and painfully had to pull out of P2. I can’t tell you how completely broken up I am about it. After busting my ass at the gym four days a week for almost two years, watching every character driven action pic that any fan would ask me to watch while I was standing in line buying egg whites and Tuna fish (Leon the Professional, Oldboy, The Seven-Ups (GREAT flick), Point Blank, Escape from NY, The Driver, Magnum Force, The Mechanic, The Great Silence, Sexy Beast, Nighthawks, Cry Vengeance (check it out), Road Warrior, Man on Fire, Outlaw Josey Wales, Rocky (think about it), Serpico, etc etc etc.) after countless Saturday nights making notes and drinking soda water and munching on seaweed sticks while my daughter slept on my lap to the sound of automatic gunfire, (now she can’t sleep without it. I had to make a tape of automatic gunfire to play in her room at night) after hauling myself to any ‘Guns! Knifes! Ammo!’ show in any small town that I found myself in shooting Killshot or The Mist or Mutant Chronicles, after torn ligaments, screwed up rotator cuffs, thousands of $$$ on ridiculously huge vitamins, overly long conversations with frighteningly tall men about The Fastest Way To Kill Someone With Your Bare Hands, and after a dude refused to sell me a Fatburger at 2am on Santa Monica Blvd, I am, sadly – no, make that heartbrokenly – ***** it - just rip out the heart and stomp it into the pavement a couple of times – pulling out. Punisher fans are already fighting an uphill battle as it is. And I’ve always felt a responsibility to fight that fight for them and with them so that Frank Castle gets the treatment he deserves.
I’m sharing this with you because I know you’re a fan, like me, and you’ve got your ear to the ground, and because we seem to share the same sort of taste and passion when it comes to movies and stories that get us off. What I won’t do is spend months of my life sweating over a movie that I just don’t believe in. I’ve always loved the Marvel guys, and wish them well. Meanwhile, I’ll continue to search for a film that one day might stand with all those films that the fans have asked me to watch.
Sincerely,
Thomas Jane - MaTT2011, on 12/08/2007, -1/+3Titus Pullo is the *****; now that i know he is the punisher i am totally down to see this movie.
Seriously, if you havent seen this guy in action then please dont start hating just because he's not Tom Jane.......Titus is great and i cant wait to see him playing the Punisher. - Beakerz, on 12/08/2007, -0/+2He's holding it fine, but they do need to drop that little grenade launcher and have an M203 on there instead...looks better and he can hold under like most people are used to seeing i suppose.
- Stagbeetole, on 12/08/2007, -0/+2i still can't believe that haven't gotten the outfit right after 3 films. how hard is it to put the big white skull on his chest? that skull is to the antihero as the superman S is to the hero.
- MadHarvey, on 12/08/2007, -0/+2So why did he do the first movie, which was nothing like the punisher... ?
- jtq1, on 12/08/2007, -3/+5they should have maybe used a different pic. this guy was great on rome, but this pic isn't looking too good.
- Stizzy, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1You know, I love the comic, but this series is so hard to translate over to the big screen (especially nowadays). The Punisher is just an average guy, no fantastic powers that require unbelievable special effects, so this is going to be far from a blockbuster. It really sucks they can't do a superhero crossover movie, because the first time I read "Punisher War Journal" where Frank and Wolverine got into it, now that would be a little more worthy of the big screen. Can anyone recall the earliest time live action Comic characters crossed each others path on the same screen (big and small), I'm aware of one but i doubt its the earliest, maybe I'll see if there is a list out there and submit it as a story.
- wrestlingnrj, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1I've got a few things wrong with this picture. First, no Thomas Jane. Second who the hell puts a red dot sight all the way at the front of a gun. Third, nobody uses that grenade launcher on that gun, it's always the M203.
- Ediebriquette, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Let's bring back Sean Connery for the next Bond film, too. Nothing should ever change. And, since everyone in Hollywood is always in agreement with each other, it should be really easy to strike a multi-million dollar deal with whatever actor happened to be in the first film of any franchise.
- MaTT2011, on 12/08/2007, -1/+2Agreed. Stevenson (aka Titus Pullo) is a great actor that brings a great personality and sense of menace to all of his roles.
I think its an upgrade both in terms of acting and appearance. Not every actor who plays a comic book hero has to be some chiseled pretty boy.... - fani, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Thomas Jane was fine as Punisher. It was the script that was crap.
The Punisher took more punishment than the villians. Sheesh. - demishadow, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Why the hell is he holding the gun's magazine? Jane was a little on the clean cut side, but he pulled it off. Ole Titus looks just this side of retard river. I bet they will ***** it up worse than the punisher movie from the 80s. They were so close last time . . .
- dengarmatt, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1What the hell is Frank doing wearing a sweater...is this a Calvin Klein commercial
- acdcfanbill, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1The word you are looking for is anti-hero. :)
- austinrfnd, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1That really looks like Steven Segal
- cufford, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Ditto on "looks like Steven Segal". And can anyone really replace Tom Jane!
Pathetic attempts to milk a previous success without the original ingredients.
I hate rapacious captilalism! - ZenMojo, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Do you guys even know what Ray Stevenson looks like?

Trust me, you'll all appreciate the casting when Ray Stevenson snaps his first neck. - TJUSMC, on 01/15/2009, -0/+0in the first one yeah, it sucked because a great many things on top of the fact that there was no traditional skull on his chest. the new one with Jane was a little loud. in this one, it isn't a big bright wight target painted on his chest, its visible yet subtle, and it looks like he's been killing for a long time now. my final conclusion: his outfit looks badass.
- baghdadgoblin, on 12/05/2008, -0/+0why is the red dot all the way at the front? takes up less of your field of view and if it's a 2-way range thats pretty important. unless maybe you've never cleared a building before.....and the mag well works just fine as a gripping surface for MOUT-all the controls are right there-especially when your other choice lets you have the option of a 40mikemike accidental discharge if you squeeze with the wrong finger...
- 1stmistake, on 12/08/2007, -0/+0Why is he using the clip as a grip? Is he about to change clips? The nice pistol grip 3" in front of his hand looks so warm and inviting, why not use it?
- TJUSMC, on 01/15/2009, -0/+0I hate it when people comment about things they don't know ***** about. I'm a Sergeant in the Marine Corps that has plenty of combat training to say, the way he's holding the rifle is the way they TRAIN US. the only time we don't grip the magazine for support is when we have a broom handle or an M203 launcher attached to the upper receiver.
- D3koy, on 12/08/2007, -1/+1Well, by the looks of it there is a pistol/grenade launcher where the hand should go...
- TJUSMC, on 01/15/2009, -0/+0read demishadows comment and you'll get your answer.
- TJUSMC, on 01/15/2009, -0/+0the red dot is fine where it's at, if you look at the camera angle it makes it look like its in the front when in reality the barrel is really short too. I hate people that keep talking about the magazine thing. if they only knew what we did.
- TJUSMC, on 01/15/2009, -0/+0first, Jane is too clean cut, second most military put a red dot right where's he's got it, and third when you're carrying the amount of ammunition and firepower he has strapped all over him, ***** gets heavy, and FOURTH an M203 is more for overall long range and accuracy. he's in highly populated urban areas, what he has is an AG 36 model grenade launcher. LOTS of people use it. just hardly in the movies because hollywood makes most movies unrealistic. thank you
- TJUSMC, on 01/15/2009, -0/+0its a tactical sweater. military wear it when its cold jackass
