- AmyVernon, on 10/09/2008, -1/+30Notice how few there were on Kill Bill? lol
- Gauthic, on 10/09/2008, -0/+26Iron man should list Stark Industries as first billing, that logo is FREAKIN EVERYWHERE!!!
- mbonzo531, on 10/09/2008, -0/+25Taladega nights would be impossible to do.
- trixyfox, on 10/09/2008, -0/+21The Matrix Trilogy is missing Snap-On Tools. If you look in the background during the car chase, right when the agent jumps on the front of a car, you can see a Snap-On Tool Truck pass overhead on a bridge.
- Spartan225, on 10/09/2008, -0/+21Notice how he didn't have any Michael Bay movies there. Mainly because there wouldn't be any space at the end to put the title of the movie. Just look at The Island.
- BXRWXR, on 10/09/2008, -7/+25I don't get it, so go ahead and call me a dumbass.
- Schrum, on 10/09/2008, -0/+17That's because Quentin hates product placements.
- jonshipman, on 10/09/2008, -0/+17They're on canvas - that makes them art.
- Hanny26, on 10/09/2008, -0/+17I Robot and Transformers would both have so many.
- MasonZombie, on 10/09/2008, -0/+17Wow...
- kenyan, on 10/09/2008, -0/+15"Hates product placement; hence, the use of the fictional cigarette brand Red Apple and defunct cereal Fruit Brute in his films."
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000233/bio - MasonZombie, on 10/09/2008, -1/+13I'm pretty sure each poster lists all of the brands that appear in the film.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -1/+12Step one: Get colored construction paper
Step two: Print movie name in bold in the bottom-left corner
Step three: List the companies that paid for product-placement for those movies on the top of the page
Step four: Damn... I already listed all the appropriate steps, and didn't leave room for question marks
Step five: Profit! - shutaro, on 10/09/2008, -0/+11Watch out, you might get sued for that comment.
- MagicHobo, on 10/09/2008, -0/+10Imagine how lame Pulp Fiction would have been if Jack Rabbit Slim's was just a TGI Friday's.
- trixyfox, on 10/09/2008, -0/+9Actually, my dad works for Snap-On and pointed it out to me.
- chadsmith729, on 10/09/2008, -1/+10Did any of them say Apple? Because their lawyers are so trigger happy they might sue you just for buying something that has their name on it and they didn't get a cut of it. I mean, look what happened to the company that sorta kinda used a logo that is in the shape of an apple.
- misterparry, on 10/09/2008, -4/+13Simply brilliant.
- jakethelake, on 10/09/2008, -1/+10Someone has too much time on their hands...
- thaboosh, on 10/09/2008, -0/+8Id like to see any Will Smith movie, they would need 3 posters
- cadmiumpaint, on 10/09/2008, -4/+12trendy, copycat graphic d-zine FTW!!!
i'm sick and tired of talentless graphic "designers" thinking that their own desire to set type as a solution for every problem is more important than their subject matter. Talk about form dictating function.
yes yes i get his product placement "concept" but his execution is derivative, overtly trendy and very lame.
seriously, i've seen these posters already in every trendy graphic design blog/magazine. It takes no talent to copy trends.
These posters could be made in less than 5 minutes by any 1st yr graphics student. They are 100% lame. - inactive, on 10/09/2008, -4/+11dumbass
- mooseofshadows, on 10/09/2008, -0/+7There are a lot of films that would be far worse than the ones they list here.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+6Body of Lies: has honestly a 4-5 second shot of a blackberry right after it gets a text. you cant read the text on it. theres nothing else in the frame, the only readable word on the screen is "blackberry."
also whenever anyone is watching the news its CNN. and ofcourse car ads.
its a pretty good movie. - Herbie555, on 10/09/2008, -0/+6Buried because the Matrix Trilogy "Brand integration" is massively incomplete without the completely awesome suicide-door Lincoln Continental from the 1st movie.
- rearlgrant, on 10/09/2008, -0/+6I came back to this b/c I realize I didn't understand it... This is art.
I saw it as a new trend in Hollywood to present an executive summary of the product placement/royalties available for a picture. I figured it was the perfect way for studio executives to pick scripts without having to even open the cover -- a dream of those types since studios began. - egudahl, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5Dude, learn how to use contrasting text colors
- nateabel, on 10/09/2008, -2/+7Who would want these?
- secrity, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5Some of the printing services will print on canvas.
- innocentsinner, on 10/09/2008, -1/+6Yea, it's obvious whose pocket they were in for that movie. Made it damn-near unwatchable.
- n1eb, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5And for the person who says "What about Rolex?" It was a knock-off...which is really strange because Quentin is a watch enthusiast and it really made me scratch my head when he used a replica Daytona in Kill Bill.
- martynda, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5Lockheed Martin?
- liberalelite, on 10/28/2008, -1/+6So you have to pay to give these companies more free ad space?
- Nerdable, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5i keep thinking Digg's Body of Lies banner says Body O Flies
- thefalloftrey, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5No, they're really not. In fact, I'd say they're simply pointless.
- Herbie555, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4And no mention of Lincoln. That black Continental from the 1st movie kicked too much ass.
- jnuffnuffnomnom, on 10/09/2008, -2/+6I might buy one of these because it makes me interesting
- hammerpants, on 10/09/2008, -7/+11[citation needed]
- GeyserShitdick, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4*Comment deleted at the request of the Apple Corporation*
- Refluence, on 10/09/2008, -4/+8... and a little piece of my soul dies.
This is not "art". Nor is it "interesting".
Buried. - dafragsta, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4Big Kahuna Burger. That's that Hawaiian joint right? I heard they do have some tasty burgers.
There was a notable McDonalds and Burger King reference in that movie though. ;) - FallenTurtles, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4Are we supposed to buy these? Is there not some sort of disgusting irony there? Oooooooh, now I get it! Man, art is hard.
- GeyserShitdick, on 10/09/2008, -1/+5Times New Who Gives a *****.
Bold. - quomen, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3Damn. Totally wrong but +1 for the effort.
- dstruktNine, on 10/10/2008, -0/+3There isn't a weapon's manufacturer named "Stark Industries" in real life; the posters depict companies in REAL life, not companies that the movies have made up.
It is safe to say that Stark Industries is our Lockheed Martin equivalent. - inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3I would also like to know.
Akkurat? - Dracoy, on 10/09/2008, -2/+5There are specific products placed in movies... The posters just list the products that are "subliminally" advertised in the movies.
Pretty clever. - hmphargh, on 10/09/2008, -0/+31. You don't talk about Apple
2. YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT APPLE - fwertz, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3I'd do it for Jordan Two Delta.
- rheaume, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3They love to sell their motors
