- thedcam, on 04/22/2009, -0/+14I'm only digging this because of how bad that picture makes me feel.
- louiebaur, on 04/22/2009, -0/+11I wonder how many thumbs up it will get:)
- Laughto, on 04/23/2009, -0/+8it looks like the cover art for a book called "The Marvellous Adventures of Chester Butkins"
- romeyinfc, on 04/23/2009, -0/+6You could at least get Siskel's damn name right
- Prayformojo777, on 04/23/2009, -0/+6Actually, he was referring to your spelling, but your grammar is pretty awful.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -0/+5Nah, Sisqo got plent of sun on the beach in his thong.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -1/+5Ebert is a great man and a terrific writer. His work goes well beyond film. Check out his journal writings at ebert.com. He takes the time to read through ALL of his comments (100's of them) and actually responds.
Funny Siskel and Ebert outtakes on youtube: (dropping a couple f bombs)
making fun of eachother - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUMZjy8rXE4

And another movie-goer couldn't handle this,
Seein' camera angles like who's da ish,
Pacino playin' characters so devilish. - jrackow, on 04/23/2009, -0/+3Sisko...
- datboitom, on 04/23/2009, -1/+4Born in raised in Champaign-Urbana and attending U of I, never been to it yet.
- DrewG7, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2Even though he can longer talk he's still got a voice. "The Great Movies" series will always be essential reading for film.
- dygel, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2You must have seen him on a good night. That same year, the times I'd seen him in town he wasn't exactly what I would describe as "well dressed" and, unfortunately, he had a habit of carrying around a canvas tote bag that could charitably be described as effeminate.
- MistySteele, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2He's a really good guy and I wish him well on it, but am I the only one reminded of the little robot in the technologic video upon seeing that unfortunate photo of him?
- geoman2k, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2yea, Ebert is great. I don't always agree with his reviews, but he usually makes a very good case for why he gives a movie a certain rating. Plus, when he really likes a cool movie, he does a great job of expressing exactly why the movie is so likable (Watchmen is a good example of this)
that said, I don't know if I can ever forgive him for giving "Knowing" 4 stars. I paid 9 bucks to see that load of crap on his advice and I regret every second of it.
oh well, can't be right all the time. - jrackow, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2I live in Champaign. Maybe we'll have to have a C-U diggup.
- jscrilla, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2I live here too and haven't been before.
- antivirus88, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2I'm at U of I, too. I didn't know Ebert was from around here, nor have I heard of that film festival. I've seen the theater before though.
3 people that are on Digg here should be enough to get diggnation down for a show right? - AmyVernon, on 04/23/2009, -0/+2four!
- Phelyx, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1I don't always agree with his reviews, but I've always enjoyed his writing, and he's pointed me towards a lot of amazing films that I might not have found without his help. He's helped promote amazing documentaries like Paradise Lost, and Paradise Lost 2: Revelations, and many others. And he's got a genuine love of movies that shows in his work.
- skibo8826, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1Although he has been a little light with his reviews recently, I still generally enjoy most films he praises. The man has good taste in movies and has developed a reputation that will continue on long after he is gone.
- SanTe, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1I liked "Knowing" quite a lot. At least it was a plot that actually made me care about what was going on and about what happened to the characters. Most new movies these days are throwaway in comparison.
- xivera, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1for those interested

I wonder if I should check out the 70mm print of Baraka... - gbarger, on 04/23/2009, -1/+2I went to UIUC, and I was at the steak and shake one night during the festival in 2000. Ebert and several cohorts came in all dressed in nice suits to eat dinner. After they got done eating they hit a problem because they weren't carrying cash, and at that time steak and shake didn't take credit cards. It was funny seeing all these well dressed men trying to figure out how to pay for their meal. Oh, and I was also surprised at the time just how big Ebert was. I think once you hit a certain point the camera must actually take some pounds off because it seems to for him.
Oh yeah, and I didn't go to his film festival either. - aschwartz, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1you gotta feel bad for him, no one should have to go thru all that he did, and its pretty depressing looking at how he looks now. As long as he is cancer free, then he is doing well.
Of course I never agreed with most of his reviews and I havent ever gone to his festival. I still feel for him. - inactive, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1Cisco, fixed.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1This is bad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJMzqBGDnwQ&fea ...
- ByteMeAHole, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1The years have not been kind to him...
- Roogen, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1Born and raised here too! who knew some many C-U's were diggers?
- antdude, on 04/23/2009, -0/+1Wow, he looks different.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -1/+1very good
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -2/+1check this out : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmnYCSwt2Js
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -2/+1therefore the rapper Sisqo will get plenty of vitamin D which is necessary for a healthy immune system.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -5/+2too pussy to handle the content of the message huh? grammar nazi.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -6/+0He looks like he has down syndrome in this picture.
- DetpackJump, on 04/23/2009, -8/+1I want to be a Spitting Image puppet too when I grow up.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -12/+1Sisko and Ebert spent all their days in dark cinema rooms, and didn't get enough sunlight, which lead to vitamin D deficiency, which lead to a compromised immune system, which lead to cancer.

What is Digg?
