- boombye, on 11/20/2007, -0/+11This is probably when Son Gokou meets the younger Piccolo and fights him in the Tenkaichi Budokai, which is the last major arc of the Dragon Ball anime and ends around episode 200 with Son Gokou leaving with Chi Chi to get married. The original Dragon Ball storyline in the anime lasted up until volume 18 of the manga. Volumes 19-52 were turned into DBZ. So the sequel to this should feature Son Gokou fighting his brother Raditz and teaming up with his enemy Piccolo. The original DB was a comedy martial arts series based on the Monkey King story from Buddhism/Hinduism, and after volume 18 when it becomes DBZ, it becomes influenced by the story of Superman, with the whole discovering he was sent to Earth and that he's the last survivor of his planet until of course he discovers there are others like him out there, as was the case with Superman 2.

- Ashoro, on 11/20/2007, -0/+4Actually Chinese, not Japanese. To be more technical, Gohan would be 1/2 Chinese, 1/2 Saiyan. Dragon Ball before it got all Sci-Fi with aliens was more of a Fantasy with monsters that was loosely based off of Journey to the West, where Goku was a Monkey humanoid living somewhere in China. The clothing style of Goku's family and the food they ate are Chinese, not Japanese, and his name in kanji is still exactly the same as the Chinese monkey in Journey to the West.

- boombye, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3Except that at the end of Volume 18, Son Gokou turned 18, had just defeated Piccolo JR and leaves with Chi Chi to go get married. Piccolo is listed as the enemy here, so this is probably about his fight against him in the Tenkaichi Budokai. In Volume 19, Son Gokou returns with his son Son Gohan. So this movie is more about the last arc of Dragon Ball which sets up the storyline for DBZ(Volume 19-52 of the Dragon Ball manga).
