    A few years ago, a Pakistani medical student for some reason asked his professor if Mohammed's parents were Muslims before Mohammed was born. The professor thought about it, and said that, because Allah had not yet revealed Islam, there were no Muslims yet, and therefore his parents were not Muslims. The professor was tried and sentenced to death for saying that. Although, in defense of the Pakistani judicial system, he appealed his case, and I don't know the outcome.

    In any case, I guess they might have some trouble trying to cast this movie.

    before Muhammad claimed prophethood there was no religion of Islam so therefore no one was required to follow it. instead they were required to follow the religion that was before Muhammad, which i think was christianity.
