- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -3/+180All those types of movies suck who is paying to watch these?
- Talleh, on 09/01/2008, -1/+157Maybe after this one, the same guys who've been making the same parody movies every year since Scary Movie will quit it.
- babylonian, on 09/01/2008, -1/+128"Meet the Spartans" was originally called "Epic Movie 2", up until the moment that the producers discovered what a critical failure Epic Movie turned out to be. They then changed the name. True story.
- mechfluff, on 09/01/2008, -3/+83Hmmmm.... I never saw those bad reviews coming. The trailer for this movie made it look like an intelligent and funny commentary on pop culture.
// end sarcasm - kevin52094, on 09/01/2008, -6/+77scary movie was actually funny, but after awhile (every other one besides scary movie) these movies are just obnoxious. meet the spartans BLOWED! i didnt even see it, thats just what i heard lol
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -0/+70I think the voting on IMDB and rottentomatoes might be a message to hollywood, make no more garbage movies like this, ever.

http://www.imdb.com/chart/bottom?tt1213644 - D5010, on 09/01/2008, -2/+72Sad fact: this doesn't mean anything. No matter how bad these films suck, no matter how much people hate them or critics ream them, they're still going to keep making them. Why? Because there are plenty of ***** morons out there that this still appeals to that they throw their money at time and time again, and that's the only encouragement studios need to green light future abominations.
- ryan83189, on 09/01/2008, -3/+65My only guess is kids, who sneak into a theater to see a free movie not knowing it is this one, who are then caught and forced to pay for several tickets or be turned over to the police.
- GregFD3S, on 09/01/2008, -0/+57*Epic Failure 2
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -1/+57The ticket stub should be laced with a sterilization chemical. The people who see these movies can't really be all that beneficial to society, can they?
- bhavinp, on 09/01/2008, -1/+56Name says it all.
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -1/+47Stop giving these people money to make ***** movies.
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -0/+41Scary Movie and Not Another Teen Movie are the only ones I support.
- Chocobot, on 09/01/2008, -0/+38Masochists.
- IamNOTmrT, on 09/01/2008, -1/+38The writers of these films define comedy as:
- people falling over
- people accidentally banging their head against stuff
- stuff landing on top of people
- farts
Genius!!!! - Vikaas, on 09/01/2008, -0/+37I really hope so. Just the commercials piss me off since they remind me that people watch them.
- CoreyHalliwell, on 09/01/2008, -3/+39These satire movies are pure garbage. Check out http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=af ... It explains it all.
"This time, the jokes aren't just lame, they're jokes we didn't even create!" - elephantay, on 09/01/2008, -3/+34Retards?
- Asianwaste, on 09/01/2008, -1/+31I absolutely hate the "Genre Movie" parody series. Some idiots out there actually think that to make a great slapstick movie like Airplane is simple and nothing but cheap jokes here and a couple of stupid pop culture references there. They don't understand the wit and comedic timing behind each joke and that's why they not only fail but have killed what was otherwise a great genre.
- andyhite, on 09/01/2008, -0/+30I agree - Scary Movie was funny simply because it was something new, in the vein of Airplane and The Naked Gun. Scary Movie was poking fun at something that we all saw as pretty cheesy in the first place (the teen thriller flicks that were so "popular" in the late 90's), but now they're just grasping at straws.
I made the mistake of renting Meet The Spartans a few weeks ago on a night that I wanted some brain-dead entertainment, and I regretted my decision for the whole ~15 minutes that I actually watched. - imcybersmart, on 09/01/2008, -1/+31We came We saw We left
- freshyill, on 09/01/2008, -1/+30Shut up and just hate the ***** movie like a normal person.
- kinseyincanada, on 09/01/2008, -13/+41***** this movie and ***** the people who see it, and while we are at it ***** the RIAA, Best Buy, McCain, Fanboys, Reddit, Nickleback and all the other ***** digg hates.
- igyigyigy, on 09/01/2008, -0/+24If people are paying to see them, they won't stop!
- belebih, on 09/01/2008, -0/+21From the Rotten Tomatoes link:
"I'm not sure if Disaster is the worst movie the boys have churned out, but, at this point, that's like asking if a bullet hurts more than a knife."
Wow... - NotOptium, on 09/01/2008, -0/+21They won't.
1996: Spy Hard
2000: Scary Movie
2006: Date Movie
2007: Epic Movie
2008: Meet the Spartans
2008: Disaster Movie
And next up....
2009: Spy Movie
Yay.
EDIT:
PS. Speaking of Uwe Boll, I just read this at the Slate review and thought it was pretty funny.
"Friedberg and Seltzer do not practice the same craft as P.T. Anderson, David Cronenberg, Michael Bay, Kevin Costner, the Zucker Brothers, the Wayans Brothers, Uwe Boll, any dad who takes shaky home movies on a camping trip, or a bear who turns on a video camera by accident while trying to eat it. They are not filmmakers. They are evildoers, charlatans, symbols of Western civilization's decline under the weight of too many pop culture references." - noahgelman, on 09/01/2008, -1/+20Fox News
MPAA - Killerah, on 09/01/2008, -2/+20Kids who think they're cool because they buy into everything Hollywood and MTV sells to them. I say this because I know several of these kids.
- Dragular, on 09/01/2008, -0/+18Hey. Spy Hard & Hot Shots don't count. Those were good. When it turned into, "Let's do one of these every year, EA style" it became a total crock pot of *****.
- DocHoliday22, on 09/01/2008, -0/+18The same people who voted for it as the worst movie in history...
- bjornski, on 09/01/2008, -0/+18The same guy that did "Meet the Spartans"?. One of the worst movies I've ever spent the time wasting on a download. I haven't even watched most of it yet because I just can't make myself sit through it in one sitting.
I eventually want to finish it, to see JUST HOW BAD the thing is, but seriously, it causes physical pain to watch.
And "Disaster Movie" is worse? Oh lord.....
Next up from the same director? "American Carol"!
Just from what I've seen it has the potential to be the most pathetic, dumbest, most insulting (to the intelligence of the viewers, not the targets of the director's scorn) movie ever put on celluloid.
I'd rather watch an Uwe Boll movie. - Zanneth, on 09/01/2008, -0/+17When I saw that this movie had a "00%" on Rotten Tomatoes, I thought that perhaps it was a glitch or something because no movie is that awful... apparently it is.
- irvin666, on 09/01/2008, -0/+170% on rottentomatoes so far. ha!
- GregFD3S, on 09/01/2008, -0/+13I just shat myself laughing. That preview is funnier that all of their movies combined.
"Get ready to LOL". - bjornski, on 09/01/2008, -1/+13Besides their absolutely retarded lyrics?
This guy is on to something....
http://www.*****.net/nickelback.htm
Though what's really funny is that the mashup sounds better than either song alone.
I guess we could call them a "green" band, they sure understand the concept of recycling. - benroy, on 09/01/2008, -0/+12It's like the movie "Ass" from Idocracy.
- MOates, on 09/01/2008, -3/+14Please let this be the death knell for all movies like this.
- Epik, on 09/01/2008, -0/+10How the hell do these idiots keep making movies. Can't someone sue them or some *****? Or kill them. Whatever.
- no1joel, on 09/01/2008, -1/+11Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, both great parody films.
Actually I haven't seen them in a while - y2kery, on 09/01/2008, -2/+12I hope the idiots lost a lot of money on this movie so we never have to see another one.
- johnsmith3210, on 09/01/2008, -0/+10I have to share my pain... I was TAKEN to see Meet the Spartans, and it was the worst movie ever. It had no direction, purpose or comedy whatsoever.
I may sound like a 'back seat driver' but, I honestly think that I could direct a movie better than that. Why would anyone invest money in this 'parody' type of movie? Movies like Meet the Spartans, Epic Movie and Disaster movie give real parody movies a bad rep.
Eg of good parody movies Zoolander (models an fashion industry parody), Hot Shots (action movies), Scary Movie 1 (it was an era of horror movies, Scream, I know what you did last summer...)
Rant over. - VinnieDaMac, on 09/01/2008, -2/+12How are these guys still making these types of movies. I actually like "Not Another Teen Movie" though.
- Raven1268, on 09/01/2008, -0/+10They never do. Enough morons whose lives are run by commercials will go out to see it.
These movies have extremely low budgets, thus, if they can trick enough ***** to go to a theater and see it (not that many people what with ticket prices these days) it is a commercial success.
The strategy basically makes it the Wal-Mart of cinema. - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -0/+10The trailer was painful enough.
- BA88, on 09/01/2008, -0/+9I honestly don't think that I can name 1000 movies.
- pigfister, on 09/01/2008, -0/+9maybe they are making more money from a flop?
have you ever seen Mel Brooks's "The Producers" maybe this is why mostly ALL hollywood (MPAA) films suck!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063462/
FTA: Producers Max Bialystock (Mostel) and Leo Bloom (Wilder) make money by producing a sure-fire flop - creep303, on 09/01/2008, -0/+8I find your lack of pants, arousing!
- MrAction408, on 09/01/2008, -0/+8Disaster Movie (2008): 00%
- Cr85bro13, on 09/01/2008, -0/+8Jesus Christ man, do you like anybody?
