- spritom, on 04/23/2009, -0/+87Somehow I figured he'd be back.
- WordsnCollision, on 04/23/2009, -1/+59Digitally inserted? Sounds painful.
- rolf, on 04/24/2009, -1/+34Yes, it's called state income tax.
- gizram84, on 05/30/2009, -4/+33He's been a great governor, you simply don't know what your're talking about. The ultra-high percentage of illegal immigrants is what is raping our state. When only 70% of the citizens pay taxes yet 50% of people receiving benefits are illegal, guess how long that's going to last?
- borez, on 04/24/2009, -0/+21"Look... I am not stupid, you know. They cannot make things like that yet. "
- Amazetbm, on 04/24/2009, -0/+16Dugg for brutal logic. LOL
- Bones97698, on 04/24/2009, -0/+13Thats what she said.
- RicardoWilliams, on 04/24/2009, -1/+14this could potentially be the best part of the new Terminator movie
- UselessTrivia, on 04/24/2009, -1/+13That would be awesome. Before he dies he should get his voice professionally sampled so that there is a baseline reference. At least for terminator movies this will be a snap. He's pretty monotone and unemotional in those sequences.
We might not have the technology yet to convert those types of recordings into believable synthesized voices, but if we get some good recordings now, the sound guys should be able to do something with them later.
We can have terminator movies for another century! - UselessTrivia, on 04/24/2009, -0/+11Didn't they just film his stunt double? I think there was one or two scenes where they kinda photoshopped Brandon Lee's face over the other guy. It ended up being pretty believable because you'd been seeing that double through the whole movie anyway, and almost every scene in that movie was covered in shadows. I'm not sure that would have worked for another movie.
- frcc, on 04/24/2009, -0/+11Here's how they'll do it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBbWH_m1Re4#t=3m18s - inevitablity, on 04/24/2009, -0/+11Because he's ***** Arnold thats why, no action movie's since the mid 90's have been the same without him.
- zoethebitch, on 04/24/2009, -0/+10When the lawyer was plucked off the toilet and munched by the T-Rex in Jurassic Park, the "body" was actually a reuse of Robert Patrick's full-body scan from T2.
Everything old is new again.
Ref: http://www.law.berkeley.edu/journals/btlj/articles ... - TheWalkingDude, on 04/24/2009, -0/+9Now they can have an entire army of Schwarzeneggers.
Imagine the possibilities for great one-liners... - rhepark, on 04/24/2009, -0/+9What tipped you off? ;)
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -1/+10"Not for another 40 years..."
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -0/+9This is the only way you can do it. Arnold is just getting old and just doesnt have the look of a T-800 anymore, he was really stretching it in Terminator3. I figured eventually they would work in a sub plot about how the terminators learned how to age... disgracefully.
- TheBlueVulcan, on 04/24/2009, -0/+7I thought he looked surprisingly great in T3 (not to speak of the movie's quality itself). For being, what, 50+, he looked amazing in that role.
- gizram84, on 05/30/2009, -2/+9Totally different situation. In Texas, no one pays income tax, so everyone is on a level playing field. California DEPENDS on state income tax in order to run all the wasteful public programs. So everyone who actually pays taxes get's nothing back.. Only those who don't pay. How that makes me racist, I'm still unsure.
- heresy_fnord, on 04/24/2009, -0/+6He was born in 1947. So he is 61. He'll be 62 in July of this year.
- u8muhrice, on 04/24/2009, -0/+6I guess he was right... he will be back
- gumballer, on 04/24/2009, -0/+5no digital Dr. Silberman?
- freezerburn666, on 04/24/2009, -0/+5i think its cool, it wouldn't make much sense for an old version of him, it didn't make much sense in part 3... but... maybe john made one that looked aged? because he has no papa?
- Ratteler, on 04/24/2009, -0/+5Crom!!!
- DAC1138, on 04/24/2009, -0/+4They did it for Superman Returns...why not for this? A lot of the CGI superman scenes seemed to blend very well with the live action stuff.
- no2gates, on 04/23/2009, -10/+14Isn't that how he governs the state of California now, doesn't show up?
- Slackdragon, on 04/24/2009, -0/+4CG, done well, can be amazing. And even if this digital Arnold looks a little off... it can't be any worse than that big, fake, wobbly Arnie head in Total Recall where he was removing the tracking implant from his sinuses.
Get your ass to Mars! - gberkshire, on 04/23/2009, -6/+10And will Arnold donate the money he makes to California? (Just wondering...)
- VVCephei, on 04/24/2009, -1/+4HURR
- hollismb, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3Well, they re-used some shots in other places too. Like one shot of him in the broken mirror in the 'death reenactment' scene is taken from a shot when he's shivering in the rain outside. Other times, they map his face onto the double's face. The whole scene of him reliving his death in the apartment is the stunt double though; it's actually pretty obvious because you never see his face, and the double has a lot bigger shoulders than Brandon did.
- Boofster, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3Way too cool.
Arnold = THE Terminator. - RubineBoy, on 04/24/2009, -1/+4How to get me to appear on my work without actually getting me to show up on my work? Go digital? Think my boss would kick my digital arz.
- EllimistX, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3I'd say the worst part. Why do people feel he has to be in every movie. TSCC did just fine without him, and was way better than that mess called T3.
- Drazzim12, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3...Or in T1 where he removes his eye.
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3On 3/3/07 When the new T4 trailer was on Digg, one of the commentators was upset there would be no Arnold, claiming that without Arnold, it just wasn't Terminator. My reply from that day seems more likely than ever:
Why not just watch the first 3 over and over, since that seems to be all you're interested in? They'll slip Arnold in. This is the story about how Skynet developed the T-800, and the human struggle to stop it from happening, but ultimately failing. I wouldn't be surprised, if the movie ends like this:
:::::::
John Connor: And we fight them to the end!
Crowd cheers.
Fade to black.
New Scene slowly fades in. We are in Skynet. The camera moves through clouds of fog and you can barely see the blinking lights and hear the sound of servos. The camera begins to focus on a human figure. The figure is large and obviously still in construction. There are mechanical and biological parts exposed. Wires and tubes are connected to the body. As the camera rises, it is revealed that the face is of the T-800. The resistance has failed. The camera slowly zooms into Arnold's eye, and as the iris begins to fill the camera, it begins to glow red.
Cut to black. Cue theme.
Duh duh duh duh duh.
Roll credits.
Remember this post. If I'm right, I demand a job in Hollywood. - XeRoX2k2, on 04/24/2009, -0/+2i wrote my thesis on the possibility of bringing actors back from the dead via cgi to do more films
he would have to explicitly say what types of films/videos he would approve of his likeness being used in,or anyone with the money to buy the arnold's "3d model and voice file" can have him selling their used cars or depends diapers, things that the living arnold would never do
also who gets his share of the profits, the animators? the original 3d modelers? his estate,if so for how many generations?
what guarantees would their be that the producers delete the files after the film/video is finished, and not secretly make another kindergarten cop2
i totally support the idea of bringing actors back from the dead in cgi, but it has to be well thought out and regulated before it happens - tehjabba, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2Looking forward to a new age of digital Arnie action films.
Just hope Digi-Arn doesn't do comedy this time round. - tehjabba, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2I was kinda hoping they'd have him cameo as the original human they based the T-800 on, but this is good too.

"Illegal" is not a race. - bjs3171, on 04/24/2009, -0/+2you just imiplied eating your own semen is criminal behavior.

- Mikey129, on 04/24/2009, -0/+2Stay in the basement...
- Hoogs, on 04/24/2009, -0/+2Pretty soon we won't even need actors.
- Sethbacca, on 04/24/2009, -0/+2Did anyone think of The Running Man where the former governor of Minnesota (that would be Jesse "The Body" Ventura) is inserted into the fight at the end of the movie. First he was in a movie where someone was digitally , inserted as part of the storyline, now he's part of the storyline but he's digitally inserted.
Heh... awesome :) - inactive, on 04/24/2009, -2/+4@marzig76
Thats how the extreme left rolls. Anytime you don't favor whatever idiotic policy they do, you get demonized. "Don't think you should have to pay for illegal aliens free college? Only one possible explanation, you must be a racist. Don't believe that men should be "marrying" men, but fully support civil unions? Doesn't matter, you're a dirty homophobe."
You know the drill. When they run out of arguments, they pull out the name-calling. - Megatronz, on 04/24/2009, -1/+2How old is he now? It seems like even after he has died, he'll still be in featured in movies. Kind of creepy now that I really start to think about it. Cool, but just a tad creepy.
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1they only needed to film the scene with him standing in front of the window i believe with a lot of light coming from behind. my acting teacher was in that movie and i asked him about it
- ImyK, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1Being governor of California wasn't enough for him! JC must have reprogrammed him and sent him to reprise his role!
- Recoil, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1Rubber baby buggy bumpers!
