crap.
"Xzibit and Amanda Peet show up as two new FBI agents."
double crap. - YodaJones, on 04/22/2008, -0/+38Cool. It will be good to see a new X-Files after so long. It was a good series.
- RomeyRome, on 04/22/2008, -0/+32WTF...Xzibit? Stop ruining movies with rappers goddamnit.

Look at this Scully. (He shows her the Springfield Shopper newspaper, with headline: "Human Blimp Sees Flying Saucer" and a picture of Homer) There's been another unsubstantiated UFO sighting in the heartland of America. We've got to get there right away.
SCULLY
Well, gee Mulder. There's also this report of a shipment of drugs and illegal weapons coming into New Jersey tonight.

I hardly think the FBI is concerned with matters like that. - inactive, on 04/22/2008, -1/+17x-files 2 movie? *masturbates furiously*
- drmobutu, on 04/22/2008, -0/+16What I want to know is: How many minutes of gratuitous Scully close-up shots?
- SketchaMPM, on 04/22/2008, -0/+16Why? The first movie was excellent.
- mytibt, on 04/22/2008, -1/+16I don't know if they can appeal to a new generation of viewers unless they go back to the formula that made the earlier season of this show great. Not Robert Patrick's fault entirely of course, but I had a really tough time staying interested with the stories after Duchovny left.
- lolbotomy, on 04/22/2008, -1/+14I hope this show makes a come-back similar to how Futurama did. I love the old eps before David was replaced by the T-1000, I think it could be just as good again if everyone that made it great originally was re-united.
- pussieLicker, on 04/22/2008, -2/+15Doing it doggy style so we can both watch x-files

Nothing, I just think he could stand to lose some weight.

..Like a lava lamp... - petebot, on 04/22/2008, -0/+10and bees. there were bees...
- SketchaMPM, on 04/22/2008, -1/+10I think the last 2 seasons get more fanboy hate than they deserve. In fact, season 8 still had a lot of Mulder in it's second half and was one of the better seasons of the series. Robert Patrick was incredible as John Dogget, who ended up being a really deep and well-written character. It's understandable that viewers faded though. Season 9 made things even more confusing and nearly no Mulder at all...well, it's tough when he was the main focus for 8 years.
That being said, the first movie was excellent so I have high hopes for this one. - sockpuppets, on 04/22/2008, -10/+19It looks like they're both dropping the kids off at the pool.
- lolinyerface, on 04/22/2008, -0/+9And a bomb at the beginning in a vending machine...
- junaru, on 04/22/2008, -0/+8"the new movie promises to be a lot more straightforward than fans of the show might expect."
I have a bad feeling about this. - edrift101, on 04/22/2008, -1/+9Xzibit? WTF?!?!
- lolinyerface, on 04/22/2008, -0/+7Just a black screen with no sound.
- SketchaMPM, on 04/22/2008, -0/+7That's a fair sentiment. Althrough, once I got over my bitterness, I really got to liking Dogget. He was an awesome character.
- edrift101, on 04/22/2008, -0/+7I never missed an episode until Season 9... The show took a nose dive during the final season. Dogget wasn't the problem - I liked his character. It was all the crap surrounding Mulder, that pissed me off. Is he dead? Where is he? Ohh, he's coming back! Oh wait, someone just got shot! Now, he's not coming back... (pout) Ok, now we're pretty sure he's dead. (pout) But he could be alive! sigh...
- xtrench, on 04/22/2008, -0/+7"Xzibit and Amanda Peet show up as two new FBI agents. "
Xzibit pimp my alien ship - CYG101, on 04/22/2008, -0/+7Hopefully X^z (Xzibit) will pimp mulder's ride...
- shadekeiko, on 04/22/2008, -0/+6Um, she wasn't in Blood Diamond. (Maybe you're thinking Last King of Scotland?)
- KaiUno, on 04/22/2008, -0/+6I missed Canada in the later seasons. LA just didn't do it for me, x-files-wise.
- NeoCortex, on 04/22/2008, -0/+6Or if they combined the continuities of X-Files and T2. And it turned out that Scully was actually working with a robotic killer sent back in time from the future.
- SketchaMPM, on 04/22/2008, -1/+6Doggett was the man. You fail.
- Kamill85, on 04/22/2008, -0/+5and and a conspiracy. yeah, conspiracy was there...
- simpleid, on 04/22/2008, -0/+5*long sigh followed by an expression of uncertainty*
i want to believe... that it can still work. - bicyclethief, on 04/22/2008, -1/+6Please let this movie make sense.
Also, Mulder and Scully better hookup. - Flamancot, on 04/22/2008, -1/+5appropriate comment, pussieLicker.
- RJLaframboise, on 04/22/2008, -0/+4I agree. I found it difficult to get into the later seasons. Nothing against Dogget, you just can't replace a central character like that. Could you imagine the Sopranos without Tony?
- blah247, on 04/22/2008, -2/+6I don't even remember what happened in the first X Files movie. Something about a space ship hidden under ice.
- solid12345, on 04/22/2008, -0/+4"Come with me if you want the truth"
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/22/2008, -0/+4She's about 10 years older now isn't she? Any closeups will have a soft lens...
- jugglingjon, on 04/22/2008, -0/+4I think this article describes exactly the right way to treat the movie; the monster of the week format from the early seasons, but with more character based elements throughout. Nobody remembers the old story lines anymore, and the characters are the reason people loved the show anyway. It looks like this is what they're doing, and it makes me more excited for the new movie.

* Firefox 1.5 or 2.0 - RJLaframboise, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3On the one hand I'm kind of excited for a new movie, but on the other I'm not. I was 8 or 9 when the show started, and I didn't watch much of the last couple seasons, so I barely remember anything from the show. Unfortunate, because it was a good show.
- simpleid, on 04/22/2008, -1/+4it just wasn't the same. seasons 1-7 were the* x-files. after that things changed a lot in many aspects. the movie i think was better than bashers like to admit, but i'll have to admit fanboism on that front.
- wsuvtx, on 04/22/2008, -1/+4It would have been better is Robert Patrick would have been Liquid Metal Guy from T2
- roemcke, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3When will they learn.. Story burried for having stupid webmasters..
- edrift101, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3Best episode ever!
- shadekeiko, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3I've been following the development of this movie very closely during the past several months, and I can tell you, it's going to be good. Chris Carter (and Frank Spotnitz) know what the fans want, and I think we're going to get it. This movie is also going to be good as it's not part of the mythology - which means that new fans can get into the series through this movie and not be utterly confused about what's going on.

I was at NY ComicCon on Friday and saw the trailer for the movie - and let me tell you, it was really intense. It's going to be a great film, so try not to rule it out at a glance. :) - shadekeiko, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3Doggett and Reyes aren't going to be in this film. Though, while it hasn't been made official by anyone from production, I have reason to believe that Mitch Pileggi (Skinner) IS in the movie. :)
- MattTS, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3I just finished watching the entire show (I bought the collectors edition DVD box set). I must admit it did go downhill a bit after the first movie but I still liked it. Doggett was a good character and I hope he can play at least a small role in the film.
- NeoCortex, on 04/22/2008, -2/+5That would be the first 5 minute film to be number one at the boxoffice.
- BlazinEurasian, on 04/22/2008, -2/+5I hope in the first 5 minutes Moulder kills Agent Doggett and does Skully.
- SketchaMPM, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3I actually thought 7 was the worst season. They abandoned realism and science fiction and went for "magic" in some episodes, which I found frustrating. Season 8 was different but it became a serious, grounded science fiction series again. As for the X-Files movie, I don't know what to say. I've never personally met an XF fan that disliked it, but nowadays I see tons of people bashing it on the internet. It's suprising to me.
- SketchaMPM, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3I think Chris mentioned being open to the possibility of bringing him in if a third movie came out that touched upon the mythology. I think with this being a standalone story, they found no need to bring in too many past characters.
- SketchaMPM, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3Much as I love Doggett, I'm really pumped that Skinner might show up. Walter J. Skinner was the MAN. Remember when he held his own and roughed up Mr. X?
- inactive, on 04/22/2008, -1/+3She was still hot in Blood Diamond.
